Chapter 102 Disaster is Free of Charge

Chapter 102 Disaster is Free of Charge
Carol, Sergio, Rick, and the baby moved cautiously through the passages of the casino, their footsteps muffled by the corridors. The urgency of their mission weighed heavily on them.

As they approached the room where they believed the Beast might be, Carol took the lead. She was ready to take action to ensure the safety of her team.

Upon reaching the entrance to the room, Carol positioned herself just outside, hidden in the shadows. Claus and Daniel had already knocked out Beast's men that were outside and supposed to be guarding the place. Now the three of them have taken over. She knew that the element of surprise was on their side, and they needed to utilize it to their advantage.

Sergio, with Rick and the baby, stepped into the room. The scene before them was chilling. The room was dimly lit, the atmosphere heavy with tension. In the center of the room sat the Beast, a formidable figure who exuded power and danger.

The Beast looked up as Sergio entered, his eyes filled with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion. Rick clutched the baby tightly, his fear evident.

Sergio took a deep breath, his senses on high alert. "Well, well, well, what do we have here? The Beast pointed to Mia and then to Rick and the baby. "A semi-man," he reached the conclusion from the way Rich trembled, "and of course an innocent baby."

The Beast's eyes narrowed as he regarded the unexpected guests in his lair. "Sergio," he said slowly, his voice laced with suspicion, "why have you brought this man and his baby here?"

Sergio hesitated for a moment before answering, choosing his words carefully. "Beast, we're here to talk, to find a peaceful resolution to this situation."

But before Sergio could say more, El Patrio, who had been sitting arrogantly across from the Beast, decided to take matters into his own hands. With a smirk, he leaned forward and spoke, his voice filled with arrogance.

"Father, I brought them here," El Patrio declared, his tone dripping with confidence. "This man, Rick, was the prosecutor in charge of my case. He's the reason I spent time behind bars."

Rick, still trembling with fear, clutched his baby even tighter. He knew that his past actions had come back to haunt him, and now he was at the mercy of the very man he had helped imprison.

El Patrio continued, relishing the moment. "I escaped, and I wanted to teach him a lesson. I wanted to show you, Father, that I'm capable of dealing with my problems myself if you won't help me."

The Beast's eyes flickered. One would argue that it is with a mixture of surprise and intrigue. He had always seen potential in his son, and this bold move seemed to confirm that El Patrio was indeed a force to be reckoned with and the one that would destroy him if absolute care was not taken. He is careless and insensitive and hardly cleans up his mess.

"So, you captured the prosecutor and his baby," the Beast mused, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the arm of his chair. "Impressive, my son. But now, what is it that you seek?"

El Patrio leaned back in his chair, a smug smile playing on his lips. "I want you to see, Father, that I can handle things on my own. But I also want you to consider helping me get back everything that is rightfully mine. All positions were withheld from me when I was put away by this man." El Patrio pointed to Rick "We don't want any more bloodshed, and I know you value family."

The Beast pretended to regard his son thoughtfully, weighing his options. It was a delicate balance between asserting his dominance and protecting his own flesh and blood and ending a potential threat.

The Beast chuckled, his laughter filling the room. "El Patrio, you never cease to amuse me. Bringing your problems here for me to solve? You're like a child seeking approval from his father."

El Patrio's arrogance faltered for a moment as he realized the Beast's mockery. He had believed that by capturing Rick and the baby, he could prove his worth to his father. Instead, he found himself ridiculed.

El Patrio's face contorted with frustration as he confronted his father, the Beast. "You claim to be my father, but what have you ever done for me? You only use me for your dark activities, for your own gain. Have you ever cared for me as your son?"

The Beast leaned forward, his piercing gaze locked onto El Patrio's. "Cared for you?" he repeated, his voice low and menacing. "What have you done to deserve my care, El Patrio? You've been nothing but a liability, causing havoc and chaos wherever you go. I've spent years cleaning up your messes."

The tension in the room was palpable as father and son locked horns, their conflicting desires and ambitions on full display.

El Patrio's anger flared. "I've tried to prove myself to you time and time again. I've carried out your orders and done your dirty work, and what do I get in return? Nothing but more orders and empty promises."

The Beast's expression remained stoic, his features unreadable. "Promises, El Patrio? I don't go back on my words. But you should know better than to expect anything from me. You're a tool, a means to an end. But make no mistake, I won't let anyone, not even my own flesh and blood, threaten my power."

El Patrio clenched his fists, his frustration boiling over. "I won't be your pawn any longer, Father. I have my own ambitions, my own plans, and I won't let you stand in my way."

The Beast's eyes glittered with a dangerous intensity. "You can have your ambitions, El Patrio, but remember this: no one challenges me and lives to tell the tale. Choose your path carefully."

The room hung heavy with unspoken threats and simmering resentment as father and son confronted each other, each fully aware of the dangerous game they were playing.

Cody, who had been standing there all the while watching the whole drama, decided to break the silence and ease the tension.

"Let us all relax…" Cody didn't get to finish the statement. Both the Beast and El Patrio shot him at the same time, echoing the same words. "Shut up!" A bullet to his head and El Patrio shot his chest. He didn't gasp for breath. He became lifeless immediately. Sergio gasped at the sight of his dead body. Mia faced the floor in fear.

Both El Patrio and the Beast continued their argument like nothing happened. "Give me back what is mine," El Patrio started, "and I will walk out of this room without looking back."

The Beast chuckled, his evil chuckle echoing in the room. "What makes you think you would be leaving here?" He asked firmly.

"So you will kill me now?" E.P. asked, chuckling too.

"I don't have to do it. I can watch it happening." The Beast continued, making mockery of El Patrio's audacity.

"You will not want to do that." El Patrio answered, relaxing in his seat. The beast's demeanour did not change. "And why do you think so?" He asked further.

"Because I have this." El Patrio waved the brown envelope in the air.
