Chapter 171 The Good Show Is About to Begin!

When Jocelyn returned to the private room, her expression had already recovered its composure.

Seeing her come back, Philip smiled and greeted her. "What took you so long?"

"Just cleaned up in the restroom." Jocelyn pulled out her chair and sat down, her demeanor natural.

Philip's tone was concerned. "Have something to drink first. The food will be here soon."

The juice was a clear, appealing color with a few mint leaves floating on top, looking refreshing and pleasant.

Jocelyn picked up the glass, her fingertips lightly brushing against it.

Seeing her holding the glass without drinking, Philip asked with feigned calm, "Is something wrong?"

"Nothing." The corners of Jocelyn's mouth lifted slightly as she brought the glass to her lips.

But just as she was about to drink, the door to the private room was suddenly shoved open from outside.

A disheveled woman rushed in, her face streaked with tears, pointing at Philip and crying hysterically. "Philip! You heartless bastard! You ruined me like this and just walked away? You owe me an explanation today!"

The woman wore a floral print dress, her frame gaunt, eyes sunken, looking mentally unstable.

When Philip saw the woman's face clearly, his expression shifted, a trace of barely perceptible malice flickering in his eyes.

He stared at her and asked in a low voice, "How did you find this place?"

"Philip! You've been avoiding me for so long—don't I deserve an answer? You—"

"What more do you want from me!" Philip cut off the woman coldly, his voice carrying a hint of callousness. "Don't forget, we broke up a long time ago."

"You think you can just break up like that?" The woman sobbed heart-wrenchingly. "What did you say when you were chasing me? You said you'd only love me for the rest of your life! And now? You just throw me away?"

She lunged forward to grab Philip's arm, but he jerked back a step, his expression now showing panic and irritation.

Soon two security guards rushed in, each grabbing one of the woman's arms and dragging her toward the door.

The woman cried out all the way until she was pulled out of the room, her voice gradually fading.

The private room fell quiet again, though the atmosphere remained awkward.

Philip took a deep breath, raised his hand to straighten his disheveled collar, and when he turned to look at Jocelyn, his face had already resumed that gentle, brotherly demeanor.

"Jocelyn, I'm so sorry you had to witness that."

Jocelyn looked at him with feigned confusion. "Philip, who was that woman?"

Philip sighed lightly and shook his head, his tone carrying weariness and helplessness. "An ex-girlfriend. But we broke up six months ago. She just can't let go. I suppose... her obsession ran too deep, and she's had some mental issues."

He spoke casually, as if it were truly just an insignificant old matter.

Jocelyn nodded and said nothing more.

Seeing she still hadn't drunk the beverage, Philip picked up his own glass and raised it toward her.

"Alright, let's not dwell on unpleasant things. Come, Jocelyn, let me toast you. Happy birthday—may you stay eighteen forever and grow more beautiful each year."

Jocelyn looked up at him, curved her lips, clinked her glass against his, then took a large sip.

Seeing her drink deeply, a flash of unmistakable triumph gleamed in Philip's eyes. He immediately took a large sip of his own drink as well.

Watching him drink, Jocelyn suddenly let out a scornful laugh.

Philip looked at her, puzzled, frowning. "What are you laughing at?"

Jocelyn gazed at him, her eyes carrying a trace of amusement. "Philip, do you still have feelings for Juniper?"

Philip froze slightly. "How did you—"

Juniper Fox—that was the crazy woman from just now!

Jocelyn leaned back in her chair, her voice not loud but every word clear. "She was the campus beauty when we were in college. I remember you chased her for two whole years—love letters, flowers, waiting outside her dorm. The whole department knew. Later you got together and dated for seven years."

As soon as she finished speaking, Philip's face grew increasingly dark. "You know everything?"

"I also know that six months ago she got pregnant. With your child."

Jocelyn's words left Philip stunned in place. Strangely, his head began to feel inexplicably dizzy.

"But before she got pregnant, you'd already cheated with another woman." Jocelyn's cold voice continued. "When Juniper found out, the shock caused her to miscarry. Then you took the opportunity to break up with her—clean and decisive. You didn't even accompany her to the hospital once."

Philip endured the dizziness and shot to his feet, his face dark. "You investigated me?"

Jocelyn looked at him with a cold laugh. "Back then you used all of her savings and resources to help your company get through hard times, then turned around and destroyed her like that."

Philip's fists clenched until his knuckles turned white, the scene before his eyes beginning to sway.

He gripped the table edge hard, trying to steady himself, only to find his legs going weak—he could barely stand.

In just an instant, he looked up at her in panic. "You... you drugged me?"

Even his voice was becoming slurred.

Jocelyn stood up, looking down at him from above, her gaze ice-cold. "I simply gave you a taste of your own medicine."

"When did you—"

Before he could finish, he finally lost his grip and collapsed to the floor.

Jocelyn let out a scornful laugh. Soon Mia entered the private room.

She glanced down at Philip sprawled on the ground and sneered.

Jocelyn pulled out her phone to check the time and said flatly, "Take him upstairs."

Mia acknowledged and bent down to haul Philip up, guiding him through a hidden corridor to the upper floor.

The third floor of this restaurant was a boutique hotel.

After swiping the keycard, Mia tossed Philip onto the bed. He landed heavily with no response.

Jocelyn stood by the bed, her expression indifferent.

Then she suddenly leaned over and unbuttoned Philip's shirt, exposing his collarbone and chest.

Watching her actions, Mia couldn't help but smile. "You really don't mind stirring up trouble, do you?"

Jocelyn didn't look up. "If we're putting on a show, we might as well do it right."

Mia nodded in agreement, then efficiently unbuckled Philip's belt and loosened his waistband.

After their quick work, they pulled the blanket up to Philip's chin, deliberately bunching it higher to cover most of his face, leaving only a vague outline—impossible to tell if it was a man or woman.

Finally, Mia pulled out a micro-camera the size of a fingernail from her pocket and placed it in an inconspicuous corner with a clear view of the room.

After finishing everything, the two quietly left.

They went straight to the parking lot and sat in their own car.

Mia opened her phone and pulled up the surveillance feed.

Before long, the door opened and a familiar figure walked to the bedside.

It was Robin.
