'Darling ___ please, why are you crying?' Kin held her tightly, his lips trying to wipe away her tears. 'I'm sorry,' she smiled through her tears. 'I guess, I'm just emotional ___ but they're happy tears. I can't believe you love me,' she sobbed again. Kin tried to hush her, his consoling words seemed to have no effect. So he lifted her into his arms and walked to the settee. Still cradling her in his arms, he let her speak her mind. 'Kin, I didn't try to ___ trap you ten years ago. I didn't think about contraception and I should have, I know, but then when ___ I found out I was pregnant, I ___ I, well let's just say I'm wiser now.' 'Are you?' he grinned, 'seems like the second time we made love in ten years, you and I repeated the same mistake.' Gin's lips pursed. She was not going to correct him. What she had immaturely presumed and hoped ten years ago was that Kin would marry her for their baby's sake. Now that she was an adult and she would like to think wiser, she knew the difference between sex and making love and that had been the reason why she had refused to marry Kin. He had not thought it sufficient justification to get tied down to her for the rest of his life because she had fallen pregnant the first time around, so the second time around, she figured she'd go it alone again. He had not fallen in love with her then, but it seems, somewhere along the line, spending time with Gin, caused the attraction he felt for her to powerfully deepen to love. Kin assumed her silence meant she was still chastising herself. 'We are equally irresponsible, considering we're health practitioners.' There was a boyish smirk on his face. Their son sometimes displayed that same mischievous grin. Gin smiled… bit on her lower lip. 'What's so funny?' He questioned, somehow deducing he was the butt of her private joke. 'Nothing,' she smiled, cupping his face. 'I'm ___ very happy,' she whispered, 'and so is our son.' 'So am I,' Kin smiled appreciatively. 'I've wanted nothing more than to hear Vin call me "dad,"' Kin's voice almost broke. 'I guess we can be thankful, this happened before he became a teenager.' 'You deserve all the credit,' Kin acknowledged. 'You have brought our son up, marvellously.' 'Mum and Dean, had a big hand in as well,' Gin conceded. Kin nodded in agreement. 'What you say, you and I, invite your brother over for dinner, at our home one evening?' 'I'm sure Dean would like that,' Gin smiled. 'Perhaps you could invite Ethan too ___.' Gin stopped when she saw the expression darken in Kin's eyes. His grip tightened around her arms likes steel bands. 'I'm sorry,' she mumbled, looking down. 'I was just suggesting it to ___ even the numbers.' 'You might as well know Gin,' he growled, his fingers racked through his hair. God knew he had not felt this powerful emotion with any of his previous lovers. 'I am extremely jealous, where you are concerned,' he confessed in a hoarse tone, 'especially with the men from your past, even if one of them happens to be my younger brother.' 'Nothing ever happened between us,' she whispered defensively. 'I know,' he crushed her in his arms fiercely. 'But the fact that I know, Ethan and Stuart are attracted to you, it drives me wild with envy,' he lowered his head, hiding his eyes from her. 'When I saw you with Ethan at his birthday, I thought you fancied him, because he was younger, your age bracket, and Ethan knows how to ___ say the right things to a lady,' he grudgingly allowed. Gin laughed softly. She leaned her cheek against his chest, circling one arm around his neck. 'You have nothing to worry about Kin. I was never attracted to Ethan or Alice.' and no other man ever enticed me enough for me to allow them into my bed. 'Mum ___ is dad still here?' Vin came rushing to the lounge to find his mum and dad cuddling. 'I'm still here,' Kin smiled, not releasing Gin, when she tried to get up. 'I'm finished my homework,' Vin went running to them, flinging his arms around his parents. Gin smiled, Kin curved one arm around Vin's shoulder. 'Dad, stay here tonight, don't leave,' Vin implored. 'Vin, Kin ___ your dad has to be in theatre, very early in the morning.' 'You can leave from here dad, like mum does,' Vin lifted pleading eyes to his father. Kin looked at Gin. If she consented, he could get up thirty minutes early, dash home, shower, change and still be in theatre on time. 'Only if you feel comfortable about it,' she supplied. Much as she would love Kin in her bed, she did not want him tired and distracted, when he was performing surgery. 'I'm okay with it, darling,' he smiled. Was she kidding? He could think of nothing more therapeutic than unwinding in Gin's arms. In the month that followed Kin and Gin's relationship was developing strongly and growing intimately. One thing Gin discovered was her insatiable appetite for her fiancé. Just a meaningful gaze into the depths of her eyes and she would be dripping with desire like hot chocolate sauce over an ice cream. Gin looked forward to their sizzling nights together and their lunch dates every day in the cafeteria. It seems Kin did too, for he came in search of her the one midday. She was still busy mid-morning with a six month old patient, who had influenza. Baby's fever was burning up his body, sending his temperature sky rocketing. Gin had immediately placed him in a tub of luke warm water. The little one was howling his lungs out when Gin lifted him into her arms, and cradled him against her bosom. 'He does not like to be put down,' the mum said, 'and I fear holding him, in case his temperature goes higher,' she sighed in resignation. 'Oh, he just wants some love,' Gin smiled, into the baby's deep blue eyes. He seemed to find her soothing voice pacifying and began making cooing baby sounds. Kin knocked on Gin's door and entered her surgery. A surge of excitement rippled through Gin. Would he always have that effect on her? He was stalking towards her, his eyes trained on her, a devilish smile on his face. Her pulse accelerated. She watched him like a hawk as he continued to stroll in with his hands in his pockets. Kin's smile broadened when he saw his fiancée cradling the baby against her chest, as if she was nursing the little one. Gin smiled shyly when she saw Kin's eyes fall to the baby. He should not have come in, she was busy with a patient, but then he owned the damn place. The baby's mother gazed admiringly at the drop dead gorgeous man strolling in, she looked curiously at Gin, who did not really want to make introductions, so Kin did the honours. 'Good day,' Kin smiled charmingly, extending his hand to the mother. 'Kin Arvis.' 'Hi,' the mother greeted breathlessly, still staring from Gin to Kin. 'I belong to her,' he informed the mummy, grinning like a Cheshire cat. We're getting married next week.' 'I see,' the mother smiled, directing an envious smile at Gin who just laughed softly at the stunned mother. 'May I carry your baby?' Kin stood just behind Gin, looking over her shoulder at the adorable little fellow. 'Umm ___ sure,' the mother responded. Gin hid her surprise. Previously Kin gave babies a very wide berth. Now that he knew he could father a child … two actually like every other healthy male had the ability to, he seemed to demonstrate a natural ability with children, his own son mostly who seemed to hero worship his daddy. Kin could not resist kissing Gin on the lips, before she handed him the baby. He smiled down at the little one, as he cradled it against his broad chest. 'We are expecting a baby too,' he proudly informed the mum.' Gin was scribbling into the baby's file. 'Kin ___ go wait for me in the cafeteria,' Gin took the baby again and bashfully chased him away. Kin laughed heartily. He kissed her again. "Shall I order for us?' Yes, thanks,' Gin smiled, admiringly at Kin's back as he strode out. When Kin left, the mum asked. 'Arvis? ___ This hospital is called Arvis Clinic?' Gin nodded, 'He's the Chief of Staff,' she tried to keep the pride out of her voice. 'He is so young __ so good looking!' Gin laughed. 'Yes,' she admitted. He was good looking… and all hers. She loved him and more importantly, he loved her. Gin walked into the cafeteria. It was peak hour with all the hospital's lunch time patrons. She spotted Kin easily at the table he seemed to favour. Gin felt every pair of eyes in cafeteria settle on her as she smiled at Kin. He stood up, holding out the chair next to him, when she would have taken the one opposite him. 'I'm starving, where's out food?' She moaned. Kin laughed, reaching out to kiss her. 'I've ordered,' he smiled. 'It's on its way.' 'Good. What am I having?' Gin smiled, her eyes raking over Kin hungrily. If nourishment did not come … 'I'm having steak and fries,' he linked his hands through hers. 'You're having turkey salad.' 'Oh yummy,' her eyes fell to his very enticing and kissable lips. 'If you continue staring at me that way Dr. Mikhayla, I'm going to have to kiss you.' Gin laughed, dragging her eyes away. 'Wasn't that little guy gorgeous?' she smiled. 'Yes,' Kin groaned. 'I can't wait for ours,' his eyes dropped to her stomach. 'There's a long way to go,' she reminded him. 'Right. So have you decided where we should have our honeymoon?' Kin asked. 'No, but do we have to leave the country? If you don't mind, I don't want to travel too far.' 'How about Zanzibar or the Seychelles?' Gin laughed. 'What?' He grinned back. 'What part of "not leaving the country" did you not understand?' He shot her a sheepish look, then unexpectedly, hauled her onto his lap. 'Kin!' Her one arm shot around his neck for support. 'What are you doing? We're in the cafeteria.' He was totally unfazed. 'You have to kiss me, as punishment,' he instructed. Her face turned scarlet. '"Punishment?"' 'For laughing at me.' 'Kin ___ please. Everyone's looking.' He shrugged his shoulders carelessly. 'I'm got the rest of the afternoon,' he leaned back in his chair, linking his hands around her midriff. 'No appointments for the rest of the afternoon,' he winked. 'I do have patients to attend to.' 'Better get going then,' he taunted. She thought she could not turn any brighter, but as she contemplated the kiss, her face heated up like a furnace. She might as well get it over and done with, or else she was going to be on his lap for a long while. Gin leaned forward. She wanted to look away, but Kin's eyes held hers prisoner. Her head bent and she pressed her lips to his and just as her eyelids closed, noisy applause around them, had her eyelids flying open again. A shy cursory glance, confirmed the approving applause was for their passionate public display of affection. Gin smiled, stirred and was pleased when Kin's hands around her fell away. 'You look so sexy, right now,' he whispered in her ear, taking her one hand between his. Gin looked into his eyes, wishing they were alone, in his house or hers. She was so turned on, it hurt. 'Glad to see you two getting along.' Gin looked up to see it was Dr. Kerry Colton, smiling at them. The last time Kerry walked into Gin's office, she and Kin were have a screaming match; well Gin was. 'Hi Kerry,' Gin smiled. 'Hi, you two,' she looked from Gin to Kin. 'Hello Kerry,' Kin stood up, a big grin on his face. 'Have a seat,' he invited. 'So, one week to go?' Kerry laughed, sinking into one of the chairs. 'Can't come soon enough for me,' Kin laughed. 'How's the preparations coming along?' 'Everything's under control,' Gin smiled. 'The church is booked, it comes with a banquet hall. Catering and menu's confirmed, we have the rings.' 'And she has the dress but refuses to even give me a hint,' Kin draped an arm around Gin's neck. 'Finally, thank you,' Gin exclaimed with an appreciative smile as their lunch was served. 'You two enjoy lunch,' Kerry stood up. 'I still need to order.' 'Bye,' Kin and Gin chorused. 'This looks good. Thank you,' Gin stole a French fry from Kin's platter. 'Does my baby like fries?' Kin grinned, cutting into his steak. 'Gin laughed. 'No, your baby did not say so, the fries are just tempting.' She tucked into her turkey salad. 'We're not going to make love until our wedding night,' Kin whispered in her ear. 'What! Why?' She blushed belatedly, when she realized how wanton she sounded. 'Build the anticipation,' he grinned. No! … No! 'So you won't come home? Won't sleep over?' Vin won't be pleased. He'd been sleeping over almost every night. The weekends were spent at his place. 'I will sleep over if you want me to,' he smiled. 'But there will be no sex.' 'You're kidding?' Gin leaned towards Kin's plate, speared a cocktail tomato and bit into it. 'You'll sleep in the same bed as me and we won't make love?' She whispered. 'I will kiss you,' he offered. 'I think ___ you better stay at your place until Saturday," she suggested, cutting into a slice of turkey. Kin threw his head back and laughed. 'What's the matter darling? You've abstained for ten years.' Gin cringed silently. Since when had she become so lustful? And the incredible thing was, the sex just got better each time. Kin's appetite just seemed to grow. He never stopped telling her how beautiful their love making was or how much he loved her and she never tired of hearing him say it. 'So what colour is your suit?' She pierced him with an unkind look. He laughed again. 'White. And my son tells me he wants to be dressed in the same suit as I.' 'So I should get Vin a white suit?' Gin sipped some fruit juice. 'I've placed the order already. They're being delivered tomorrow.' Gin smiled. 'I can't believe how smoothly everything is working out,' she dabbed a napkin to her lips. 'Wedding co-ordinators are just remarkable,' Kin laughed. They'd engaged one. She was efficient, resourceful and knew her trade, extremely well. She'd arrived at the first meeting with albums full of themes, venues, caterers, bridal dresses and accessories, floral arrangements, honeymoon packages and ideas for every other conceivable item on wedding lists. After a week of deliberations, Kin and Gin had agreed on their final requirements. Gin refused to discuss her dress. That she was going to source by herself. It would be special … just for Kin's eyes. 'Thank you for lunch,' Gin checked her watch. 'I've got to go.' 'I'm going to pick my son up,' Kin tossed his napkin aside. Gin smiled. She'd heard from his secretary that Kin wanted his schedule blocked from twelve until two. He wanted to fetch Vin from school each afternoon and nothing pleased their son more. 'I love you,' he whispered in her ear, as his lips brushed her cheek. Gin's head lifted, her eyes locked with his, 'I love you too,' she whispered.
