Chapter 79 Chapter 40 (i)

Chapter 79 Chapter 40 (i)
FAE
Jigo’s eyes were on me, his look questioning silently. I nodded. He’s already handling Carl so, yes, I can handle Sarah.
Sarah had come closer. “Can I talk to you?”
I glanced at her but immediately looked back at Jigo because Carl’s voice was getting louder. Their argument was heating up and I hadn’t even seen Jigo saying much.
“Fae, can I talk to you?” Sarah repeated.
I looked at her again, frowning, my patience wearing thin. This wasn’t as important as what’s happening with our husbands. I saw in my periphery Carl’s hand pushing Jigo in the chest. So of course, my eyes went back to them again.
Whoa. Why the fuck is Carl so angry?
“Fae, what the hell? I want to talk to you.” Sarah blocked my way just as I was about to run to the guys. I was about to tell her off but my friends did that first.
“What the…! Can’t you see she doesn’t want to talk to you?” Pam said angrily.
“Go away, Sarah. No one wants you here,” was Joana.
“Ditto,” was Kelsey. “And bring the fart with you. We don’t need that stink here.”
“Get out of my way, Sarah,” I ordered before she could say what she meant to say to my friends when she opened her mouth to angrily protest. Her eyes went back to me.
“Wow! So now you hate me?”
“No. I’m happy for you. You married a rich guy, so you’ve got a free ride for life,” I said. “Now, move out of my way.”
She flinched but quickly recovered. “I didn’t steal him. He was never yours.”
Oh my god. Still using lines from dramas. It used to be funny, but now it was just a minor irritation. “You’re right. You didn’t steal anything. Now, step aside.”
She blinked, shocked that I was unaffected. And there you go, I was treated with those frog fart eyes.
Oh god, I thought as I caught myself calling her that even if it was just inside my head. Why me, too? But the men grabbed my attention again. Carl’s hands were flying in the air now, gesticulating wildly. What was he saying?
Sarah changed tactics, seeing my focus elsewhere. “Carl is angry because of you.”
“Because?” I asked. Should I just push her out of the way? Maybe to the pool? It was a hot afternoon anyway and she might need a dip.
“Because you’re with Jigo, and we all know he’s a player.”
“So?” Jigo was now speaking and he was starting to look annoyed. He was bigger and taller than Carl. If they started fighting, Carl’s in trouble.
“You know… Carl has always seen you as a younger sister so he doesn’t want you to get hurt.”
I finally looked at her. As in looked. “Really? You talk as if you know what you’re saying. You don’t know Carl. You know nothing about Jigo. Get out of my way.”
Her chin lifted, clearly pleased I reacted at last. “I do know. Before Carl, there was Jigo, Fae. Of course, no one knew about us because he was just like the other guys who went crazy for me back then. And now, you’re head over heels for him. How pathetic... fawning over my leftovers.”
I stared at her. Did she actually had the gall to say what she’s…? I laughed. The girls, in fact, had started before me. Sarah’s smile faded at the enforced wall surrounding her, her lips forming a straight line. “What’s so funny?”
“You tried to seduce Jigo,” I said. “How did he reject you? I’ll have to ask him. Must have been harsh.”
Sarah’s face started to go red at the insult. “That’s not what happened—”
“When you tried to introduce yourself to him, to talk to him… flirt with him… at that party, you did it while I was there thinking he’d maybe treat you politely. But it was as if you didn’t even exist to him. He didn’t even look at you. And I thought he was so rude. I even felt bad for you. But now I think he must have known what you really are.” I shook my head. I let myself drop as my eyes deliberately racked her body. “He doesn’t have to pay for that, Sarah. He doesn’t have to pay for anyone to fuck him. And he certainly will not touch a hoe.”
She looked taken aback, then deeper shades of red appeared on her face as she tried to counter, but I guessed I shocked her so that nothing coherent escaped her mouth in the next seconds.
“You think I didn’t know? I did. That’s why I helped you as much as I could, so you’d stop having to sell yourself. But you didn’t.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she said. “You’re making up lies. Carl won’t believe your lies!”
I laughed, but it was a bitter laugh. Carl indeed didn’t know, and if he only knew, he would have stepped back and thought more about marrying Sarah.
