Chapter 205
Chapter 205
Jane fell silent immediately.
She really hadn't thought about it - he had his concerns too.
The anger in her heart was gradually dying down.
But why should Anna get away with what she did, over and over again?
She couldn't swallow this, and looked up at him with the same cold stare: "Fine, whatever Mr. Smith says goes. After all, she's your fiancée. Of course you should protect her. Having Song Gang take the fall - it gives me an explanation while protecting the person you want to protect. Killing two birds with one stone. What a clever plan, Mr. Smith."
Her sarcastic tone immediately made John's face turn cold. He had never lost his composure like this in his entire life - rushing out after her without a second thought, just to explain things clearly to her.
And this was the attitude he got in return?
He was so angry, he felt like there was a fire burning inside him.
That hint of intimacy from moments ago had now completely vanished.
Under his fierce gaze, Jane thought about that kiss just now. She was angry at herself - she had almost given in.
"Since Mr. Smith thinks I'm not as important as Anna - no, that's not quite right. In Mr. Smith's heart, I've never been worthy of being compared to Anna."
She paused, ignoring his increasingly dark expression, and continued: "I should say, since in Mr. Smith's heart, justice is far less important than your fiancée, whatever. I'll just have to accept defeat today. But please, Mr. Smith, don't coax your fiancée on one hand while forcing kisses on me on the other. I honestly find it pretty disgusting."
"Disgusting?"
John was immediately enraged by those two words. He suddenly stepped forward, pinning her against the car door, his dark gaze fixed on her.
"What are you doing?" She was startled by him.
"What am I doing?" He laughed coldly, his whole body radiating a dangerous aura as he closed in on her: "Jane, you're the one who approached me, flirted with me, used me to provoke Anna. Haven't I stood up for you enough times? And now you're acting like you don't know me. I'd like to ask you - what's your game?"
"I... what game could I have? I used you, but you didn't have to go along with it. I came to work at your Smith Corporation for work, nothing else. How did it become me deliberately approaching you? And when did I ever flirt with you? Stop making things up!"
"Making things up?" John scoffed, looking at her coldly: "Then didn't I tell you that Anna is not my fiancée?"
Jane was speechless.
But John had no intention of letting her off. He continued pressing: "Miss Watson sure knows how to wash her hands clean - everything for work? Since Miss Watson maintains such a professional attitude, then in what capacity are you throwing a tantrum at me?"
Jane was speechless again.
Thinking about her behavior during this time, it really was as he said - deliberately approaching him, flirting with him, being sarcastic with him. But his last statement was like a bucket of cold water waking her up.
Her emotions instantly calmed down, and her tone turned cold too: "Mr. Smith is right. I have no right to lose my temper with you. I'm sorry, it was my fault. I apologize. Happy now?"
"Want to walk away now? Too late!"
He grabbed the back of her head and once again pressed his lips fiercely against hers.
This kiss was even more intense than before, carrying a punishing quality, as if punishing her for speaking without thinking.
For a moment, Jane froze. What right did this man have to treat her this way over and over again?
She absolutely couldn't give in this time. Determined, she bit down hard on his lip.
Was this woman part dog or something?
John was provoked by her, but instead of letting go, he held the back of her head and ravaged her soft lips even more fiercely.
Jane hadn't expected him to not let go even in this situation.
She pushed hard against his chest, but he didn't budge an inch. He even deepened the kiss.
Jane tasted a metallic sweetness spreading between their lips and teeth. No matter how determined she was, she couldn't bite down anymore.
After what felt like forever, he finally released her and looked at her coldly.
Jane came to her senses and pushed him away forcefully. "John, are you crazy?"
What right did he have to treat her like this?
Blaming her while forcing kisses on her against her will?
"I'm crazy, so what? Didn't you enjoy it just now?"
"John, you're sick."
Jane was furious and pushed him away hard.
John just gave her a cold look and turned to leave.
Jane quickly got into her car, wiped her lips forcefully, then adjusted the rearview mirror to look at her flushed face and disheveled appearance in the reflection.
Damn it, that man kept forcing kisses on her and bullying her, and she kept giving in over and over again?
If it weren't for her Sammy and Sophie, she never wanted to see this man again in her life.
She angrily hit the gas and drove off.
On the other side, John returned to his office.
Anna was still sitting in his office in a daze, thinking about how he had impulsively rushed out after Jane earlier.
She had never seen him so anxious about anyone or anything before.
In that moment, she really panicked.
Could it be that John already cared about Jane to this extent?
She was thinking anxiously, getting more and more flustered. She hadn't expected that when John came back, this was what she would see.
His lip was split, and the wound looked pretty bad.
Anna immediately had a certain premonition, her face turning pale. "John, your mouth, what happened?"
"Get out!"
He didn't even look at her, just gave a cold command.
Anna left reluctantly.
John sat in his chair, took out his phone, and looked at his lip. It really was pretty bad.
Damn woman, she really could bring herself to bite him like that.
