My Kind Of Happy

My Kind Of Happy
Gray's POV

There is a knock on the front door. I hurry down the stairs as Mark takes care of the kids. I feel exhausted and I have little to no sleep because if it's not work, then it's the kids and if it's not the kids, then it's Weston during the night. I know that Mark is exhausted too. We try to balance everything as much as we can. I still can't believe that Mark wants four. Its crazy.

I can tell that he wants another girl. Lana is getting older, so he probably wants another little princess that he can spoil. He does treat everyone equally, but my gut says that he wants another girl.

I open the door. "Hey!" Amber says with excitement.

"Hello, come inside and make yourselves feel at home." I open the door wider as Amber and Bradley walks inside and Mariko places a kiss on my cheek. I close the door behind them.

"Bradley!" Lana runs down the stairs with her sketch pad.

"Lana! No running in the house!" Mark calls out after her as he walks down the stairs behind Jordan.

Lana ignores him because Bradley is here, they are very close. They go their own way in the lounge as Amber and Mariko takes a seat. "You know that I am here for another thing." Amber says.

" Don't worry, I will start with it now." Mark says as he walks further inside of the lounge.

"You know me so well by now." she says.

"Of course, I do." Mark chuckles.

"I will join you in the kitchen." Mariko says, and both of them go to the kitchen.

I sit down on the recliner. "How have you been? It seems as if you cannot cope right now," she says.

"Well, I am trying to. We are balancing everything. I can't try for another baby soon because it will be extra and Mark has agreed with that. So we will be waiting two years to try for another one. I am exhausted and I also have piles of work that I need to get through. I try to work here in the study room, but Jordan is always knocking on the door and then it's Weston that cries. Mark tries to take care of them all. There was one time when I had a video conference meeting, Jordan came inside of the study room and he showed himself to everyone. That was so embarrassing. Everyone else finds him cute. So that was that." I let out a breath.

Amber laughs. "You are like a super mommy. I told Mariko that I could only have one for now. We can try again when Bradley is at least a teenager, because I do not want to be like you at this moment. I can see for myself how it goes on here." she shakes her head.

"I wanted to stop at two but I am doing this for Mark. I want him to be happy and I love all of my kids. Sometimes, I think about my father and Jackie. What things would've been like if they were still alive. Their baby would've been around the same age as Lana and Bradley. I still have the 'what if' questions. Mark wants us to make things right with Reggie and Jamie. I still have fears and doubts but I have to do this. Mark has reminded me that life is too short, so with that I think about my father. We worked it out and then we didn't spend time together and then it was the end for real. So I think that we have to do this." I say.

"Mark is correct. If you still don't trust Jamie, just keep her at arms length and keep that watchful eye on her although they are married and have a kid. Reggie and Jamie look happy, that I can tell you. They have been around the world, traveling and to this day, after finding out that I was pregnant with Bradley, we didn't travel again. Things are busy for Mariko at work," she shrugs. "It is still on my bucket list. I want to travel again before the next baby." she says.

"Mark and I haven't traveled once, come to think about it." I say.

"It sucks to be you because you are a baby making-machine." she says.

"I think that I need a vacation. You just gave me the perfect idea. We can leave the kids with Rose, seem that she is lonely and we can travel. We need a break from everything. We never did this before." I say.

"Then do it. You both deserve this a lot," she says.

"Aunt Amber, I made this for you." Lana says as she hands Amber a page.

"Oh, this is beautiful." Amber says as she looks at one of the sketches that Lana made. It is probably the one where there's Amber, Mariko and Bradley on it. "I will put this up on Bradley's wall in his bedroom." she smiles at Lana.

Lana jumps with excitement and then she walks away.

"She loves to sketch." I say.

"I can only say this....you and Mark make beautiful kids. I'm envious." she says.

"She has more of Mark's personality, but she is more to herself and quiet. Sometimes, Mark and I have to check up on her to see if she is okay and then we find her just sketching. It's what she loves to do." I say.

"She is more of you in that way." Amber says.

Just thinking about the kids really makes me want to go on a vacation. A well-deserved vacation. I can't believe that I didn't think about it because once the kids got here and being CEO, just made us forget that we need the break too. I would like to go to Paris and see many other places. Mark has a private jet, yet we haven't traveled together and I think that we should make it more of a thing within our marriage.

Mark's POV

Mariko assists me with making the food. It is nearly done. I never thought that my house would be full like this. Hearing the kids laughing and playing compared to what it was like before. Empty with no sounds to listen to except the birds in the morning. I wouldn't have it any other way.

"I plan to visit Reggie and talk." I say to Mariko who is seated at the dinner table.

"Do you think that would be a good ideas? I mean...Jamie," he says.

"I thought about it but they are married. I just want my friend back." I say as I pull out a chair and I sit down across from him.

He takes in a deep breath. "If that is what you want and if Gray is okay with that, then go ahead. But if I am you, I will remain careful even though you will give second chances. I wouldn't want to lose what I have with my wife, knowing that there is still a snake around who might not have changed. But if you believe that she has changed once you go there, then go ahead." he says.

"It is hard, but I will give it a try. Gray is okay with it, although she does seem hesitant about it." I say, letting out a breath.

"That is for a good reason." he says.

Jordan rides his toy truck along the edge of the dinner table, making car sounds. "Jordan, please play somewhere else, not at the dinner table where we have to eat." I say sternly and he looks at me before he runs away. Gosh, I love my kids. They are the cutest.

" I'm sure that he cannot wait for Weston to be older so that they can play together. The kid looks bored." Mariko chuckles.

I let out a breath. "Lana is on her own buzz with sketching and Jordan is just being Jordan. I try to play ball with him. He is a very active little man. Sometimes, I am way too busy juggling everything with Gray. It just feels like we never got a break at all. We are just parents and we work. It is the same routine every day." I say.

"Well, why not take a vacation break? Amber and I can look after the kids." he suggests.

"What about Weston?" I ask.

"We will manage. Although, it will be a handful of kids, but we will manage unless there is your mom too." he says.

"I will figure this out. I will let you know." I say.

"Sam said that they were going to pop in later. They are back from their honeymoon," Mariko says.

"I can't believe that I always thought that he was after Gray when she first started to work at Sternpoint. I would be there just so that he wouldn't disturb her and basically not to distract her from work. They were friends and they had this thing of going to the coffee shop next door to Sternpoint every lunch break and I would get so jealous." I scoff just thinking about it.

I was one hell of a jealous man when it came to the two of them. "Well, you know how Gray felt about you all this time. She still feels the same way about you. I can see it, she doesn't want another man because it has always been you. I could see the jealousy that you had towards us too when you broke her heart." he says, and I feel guilty.

"I was jealous and I was going to trample you." I say. I do not have to worry about anything because I have her now. I know where her heart is. It is always with me.

"I could see that you wanted to on many occasions. But there was nothing between us. We were just friends and I was helping. It was completely innocent, she didn't want anyone else because she was broken and you ruined her for any other men out there. That is what she was feeling at the time. You know how it is when a person's heart gets broken. I have been down that road before and I didn't want to date at all until Amber came into my life. I was broken for a while, two years before meeting her. The woman that I dated, was only after my money and what I had. She didn't love me for me. That is what hurt the most and I didn't trust women to love me. I only knew that they would be after the material things. Amber already had all of that and I jumped into the deep end with her. I saw that she loved me for me. I had to get used to that. I wouldn't let her slip through my fingers, because she was my rare jewel that I longed to have. We all have our pasts and what broke us all. Sometimes we get the good things after that. Things that we think that we don't deserve at all."

"You're right about that. I am happy that you found Amber." I smile. "Women used to throw themselves at me, but now when they see that I have kids with me, they look the other way. I always wanted them not to look my way and to leave me alone. But my kids are doing that for me without knowing it. I get to enjoy everything, even the strolls in the park and going to the beach. I won't change a thing." I say.

My kids save me from things such as women. When I noticed it, I had to see that it worked again and it did. Women would smile at me in a flirtatious way, but when they see the kids, their facial expression changes and they look the other way. I am so happy about it. I am happy with everything.

When the food was finished, I dished the food for everyone. Gray sits with the kids and she has to bottle feed Weston. "You know, its so weird to call your little guy, Weston. That name just reminds me of your father." Amber says to Gray.

"Trust me, it was weird for me too. We felt that we needed to honor my dad. It is a reminder." Gray gives a little smile. Weston is a reminder for me too. Sometimes, I wonder why we would name him after his deceased grandfather. But we had our reasons.

I was named after my deceased grandfather. I hardly knew him, because I was little. Just the other day, my mother showed me a picture of when I was born. I was a premature baby and I was tied to all kinds of tubes in the NICU, the same way as Lana. I know that Lana is mine, she reminds myself of me more and more every day.

Weston snaps me out of my thoughts as he cries by Gray. I get up from my chair as Lana goes to him and she wants to pick him up out of Gray's arms. "Just hold on, Lana." Gray says to her and she waits.

"Give him to me." I say.

"I wanted to him, daddy." Lana says.

"You need to first eat your food finished." I say and she pouts her lips as if in anger and she goes to sit down on her chair again and she eats her food. I take Weston from Gray and I walk with him to the lounge. He stops crying as I walk with him. "You want to be with me." I say to him. He just looks at me and I smile at him.

I love these moments when I get to hold them. It brings me joy and as much as I don't want them to get older. I want them to stay little forever, which I know is impossible. I will always cherish these moments until my last breath. I look forward to walking Lana down the aisle one day and to see her happy. I hope that I will be alive to see my grandkids, but I will not dwell on that now. I will focus on what I have.
