Chapter 33

What to do?

Jayden POV

My heart skipped like a million times, as I heard the voice, different thoughts came running through my mind, could it be that something bad happened to her? What's she doing at the bar? Slipping my phone into my pocket, I hasten my steps, and soon, I was already climbing down the stairs like a maniac. I'll be so mad at myself if anything happens to her, it was all my fault.

"It's late already, where are you going Jay?" Madam Rebecca's worried voice came on, as she emerged from the kitchen.

"I'll be back." I said, and without spending anymore seconds in the living room, I sauntered to the door, and stormed out of the house. Walking briskly over to the parking lot, I hopped in on my car, and turned on the ignition, before driving out of the compound, and soon, I was already on my way to the mentioned bar, while praying silently that she does nothing stupid.

After driving for what seemed like forever, I finally stopped in front of the bar, and alighted from the car, before walking briskly to the entrance door, and in the next seconds, I was already inside the spacious and classic bar. I was welcomed with the smell of wine and alcohol. Walking over to the counter, where I met a waiter, serving some drinks on a tray, I greeted him politely.

"Hey! Please I got a call..."

"Oh you must be macho jerk?" He pulled a puzzled look, while looking at me, and I almost cringed. What the heck! She saved my number as that? Oh she's got some nerves, and this idiot dares to ask me such stupid question? He must really be making his own death wish.

"Oh sorry, this way please." He said, as he left the counter and beckoned on me to follow him, while walking away, and I followed him. He led me to the VIP section of the bar, and I almost froze on my spot, as I was welcomed with the shock of my life, sitting on the chair, with her eyes closed, and her head laying on the glass table, is Eve. The heck!

"I'll take it from here." I said to the waiter, who nodded and walked away, before I walked steadily to her. Staring down at her, I sighed deeply, and slowly, I reached out my hand to her face, and get the strands of hair, which was laying roughly on her forehead, off her face, revealing the most beautiful face I've ever seen, damn! She look so cute when sleeping. The sudden urge to kiss her wet pink lips, spread through me, but I knew well to fight it, knowing that it was that same thing, that got her into all these mess.

I sighed softly, and helped her up, before making her hop on my back, and in the next seconds, she was on my back, sleeping peacefully. I walked out of the restaurant, not after picking her purse and phone. Urgh! She's so heavy.

Stepping out of the restaurant, I walked straight to where my car was parked, and opened the door, before sitting her carefully on the front seat, after which I fastened the seatbelt around her. Walking over to the other side, I hopped in on the driver's seat, and groaned tiredly, as I felt a sharp pain on my back. Shit!

Stepping into the car, I took a glance at her closed eyes, and chuckled softly, as I shook my head unbelievably, before turning on the ignition, and in the next seconds, I drove out of the compound.

I just couldn't stopped wondering what came over her, how could she think of drinking in this situation, she's a woman for heaven sake, and drinking herself to stupor, because of any reason, shouldn't be an option, what if someone had barged in there and raped her, while she was still unconscious? Or what if something had happened to her, huh?

Letting out a soft sigh, I stepped on the accelerator, increasing the speed. It's already getting late, and I need to speed up, so I can drop her home on time, before heading home.

"Ethan?" I heard her murmured, and I was forced to glance at her, as I couldn't help the scoff that escaped my throat. The heck! Who's Ethan?

"I loved you Ethan." She mumbled, with her eyes still close, as a drop of tears slide down her cheeks. Ok what exactly is happening here now, huh?

Taking the last turn before taking the street to her house, I matched on the brake, bringing the car to an abrupt halt, while we both jerked, as I almost ran into a truck, and that was when I realized that there was gridlock, damn! Not today please.

Glancing at my wrist watch, I sighed frustratingly. It's almost 9pm already, and in a few minutes, the road will be closed down, and there will be no movement of vehicles again, so how do I get home then?

"Oh shit!" I cursed under my breath angrily, as I hit my steering wheel. I have an appointment with some clients tomorrow, and I really need to sleep early today, so I can wake up early enough tomorrow, and get ready for the damn meeting, so how do I cope with that, now that I'm stuck here? I threw my head back on the headrest, and closed my eyes frustratingly, while waiting for the damn traffic jam to be resolved, before leaving this place.

Seconds ticked into minutes, and soon, the road was closed, with cars, still sucked in the traffic jam, I think everyone have to trek home tonight and come back for their vehicles tomorrow, or better still, lodge in a nearby hotel, and pass the night.

Letting out a frustrating sigh, I rested my head on the steering wheel, while thinking of what to do. I can't possibly trek home with her on my back, her house is still remaining a fifteen minutes drive, imagine how many minutes I'll spend on the road if I'm to trek there, and with someone on my back? You're not going to suggest I go lodge at an hotel, right? That's not even an option, we're two adults, and sleeping in same room, it's kinda crazy.

Still lost in my own thoughts, thinking of what to do, the sound of the knock on my car window brought me back to reality, and raising my head, I sighed softly, and wined down he glass, as I was welcomed with a middle aged man, staring at me blankly.

"Young man, you have to come down from the car, and find your way home, or better still, you can lodge in an hotel close by." He said. The last time I checked, I didn't asked for his suggestion, right?

"Sure." I replied simply, and he nodded, before walking away.

Guess we have no option then, spending a night together won't be bad, right?...
