Chapter 29 29

Chapter 29 29
Phoebe~~

“Are you daring to hit my fiancée?” Knox asked while climbing the stairs to meet us. The servants who were all passing by and the ones at work couldn't stop looking. “You can try it!” he added, and I didn't flinch.

I turned to the so-called Vivienne, who thought being Luna meant everyone was nothing to her, and before she could even blink, I smacked her face once, then landed another slap that made her stagger to the sides.

A sinister smile curled my lips, and with my palms transfixed on my waist, I turned to Knox, whose eyes were on me with shock spread across his face. “Did you see it? I just smacked her twice for what she did to me, and this is because she can't step in here and claim my mate from me. She isn't going to be the fucking luna when I'm your mate.” I snorted and thought of walking past Vivienne, but then paused.

When I glanced at Knox, he wore this expression that revealed how he didn't understand what I had just said. The lady kept wincing at the corner, maybe waiting for Knox to come up and take her along or order my arrest.

I tucked my hair behind my ear and walked down to Knox, grabbed his arm and began climbing the stairs with him. “What are you doing, Phoebe? Do you even know the repercussions of what you just did?” He kept ranting beside me, but I paid less attention to his words.

Before we passed Vivienne, I gave her a stern look and let out a loud hiss, and she was too stunned, staring at us with her mouth wide open until we passed her. At a time, she rushed to us and began dragging Knox’s arm away from mine, and the best I could do was match her feet forcefully and leave her to step backwards in pain while continuing my journey to the upper floor with Knox.

He said nothing, just sparing me glances as if he hadn't seen me before. Was he expecting me to lie so low and let my fellow female intimidate me? I was actually playing along as I agreed with Levi, not to his favour, actually, but to also achieve my aim as well.

As we entered his bedroom, I locked it up and went straight to him on the sofa that he sat on. With a smile, I asked him, “Do you want a massage? Or should I prepare something for you?”

Dude couldn't get his eyes off me, and I didn't act like I hated it.

“Why those looks? She slapped me, and I did the same to her. Yesterday, she wanted me to drink the water I used to wipe her feet, so when she tried to force me, I poured it on her face and went away. Now she's mad at me for going to the club last night. Didn't we agree that I would be going there to make you money? And the client I worked with last night paid a lot because he refused that I share last night with another man.”

The shock he wore dissipated and was replaced with maybe jealousy or anger. It made me understand what Levi was talking about, but it still had nothing to do with me. He could still be in love with me, but doesn't want to go ahead with it for himself.

If that's the case, then I would put him in a situation where he would have no choice but to fall for me, even if it meant his end.

I cleared my throat and took a seat beside him. He hadn't yet talked, and it meant how confused he was, so I took his hand and began rubbing mine on it. “You aren't saying anything. Are you mad at me for slapping her? But that could only mean that you hate me that much and are desperate to make her your luna when I'm here. When she mentioned that she was going to be Luna, I thought she was joking. So it's true!”

“It's not!” he finally said, and my lips parted in smiles. “She's not going to be Luna because I do not need one.”

My lips circled, then I nodded. “I actually thought it was because of our matebond. If that's the case, then you could still make her one even if you don't love her. I could just mind my business henceforth.” I muttered, dropped his hand off mine and stood up to leave, but he held me back and dragged me back to the sofa. I sat forcefully, my body resting on his, and my eyes widened in shock. “What is it? I have to go take my bath.”

He didn't let me go for some time, and when he did, he stood abruptly and backed me. “Fine! You can start leaving, but get ready to be summoned, for it's a crime to raise your hand on my fiancée.”

I rolled my eyes. His fiancée? Didn't he just mention that she wasn't going to be his luna because he doesn't need one? Was he okay?

‘Let's say, he's conflicted whether to go ahead or not. He hates us but doesn't want to let us go, that kinda feeling. If not, he wouldn't hesitate to crown her,’ my wolf said to me, and I nodded. She was making a point about Knox, and I could see it clearly. How he stood and turned his back on me meant that he was baffled by his feelings for me, so I will need to work hard to win him over.

I stood up and bowed to him like a good girl, "I'll start leaving, Alpha king.”

He glanced at me, and of course, was shocked that I referred to him that way.

“What? I'm going to be a good girl, I promise. So don't crown her!” I whispered and began leaving. That would get him thinking, and I would take advantage of his situation. Even Levi would be shocked when he realised that I had used him to gain what I wanted.

Back in my room, I freshened up and dressed very nicely. Tonight, I will be returning to the club again so I can make more money. Since I now know how the drug works, I wouldn't be scared when the client is deep asleep and will also sleep off too.

When I was done, I walked out of my room and sort of entered Vivienne's room to see if there was something I could do for her as her servant, which I was. Surprisingly, her room was empty of her, and looked unkempt. “I told Levi to get more servants. Did she reject them because she wants to make me suffer? Too stupid of her!” I snorted and began walking out.

I walked out of the room and met Levi standing opposite my door, and I called out to him. “Is there any problem?” I asked, and he nodded, coming closer to me.

“His majesty ordered your presence in the throne room.”

How did I forget that he would do that?

“Why not get more servants for her?” I asked him, and he nodded. “I need to focus on my role in the club and beside your alpha king, so do that quickly.”

He put on a smile and gestured that I begin leaving.

We entered the throne room, and I walked closer to where Knox was, and Vivienne was standing at his side. I bowed and asked, “Why did you call me, alpha king?”

He lowered his face to the floor, and when he raised it again, he ordered, “Apologise to my fiancée….”
