Chapter 49
Payton
I am in a semiconscious state when the pain throughout my body registers. Gee, I knew I had been having a lot of sex this week, some of it using muscles I didn’t know I had, but this is extreme. A sudden chill comes over me and it causes me to awake fully. Usually I am toasty warm, even too warm when I wake up in Jake’s bed. I reach over to touch his side when I realize I can’t move my arms. What the heck?
My eyes fly open and I see very little. What I do see is not Jake’s bedroom and it all comes flooding back to me. It was Friday afternoon and I was working on the financial assessment file for a piece of commercial real estate Roland was considering purchasing. It had taken me longer than usual, as Jake was working away on his laptop on a small table he had set up in my office. I was having a hard time concentrating on numbers with him in the room. I left to bring the file to Roland’s assistant and told Jake I would be ready to leave as soon as I turned in the file. When I got to Roland’s assistant’s desk, he called me into his inner office. I was surprised by this, as he had never done this before. In fact, his office door is usually closed. He asked me if I had been talking to my mother and we chatted for a minute or two about mom’s visit with her sister. He seemed to genuinely miss her and that surprised me.
When I left Roland’s office, his assistant was nowhere to be seen. I started to head back to for the elevators when I saw a woman standing by them. By the way she was dressed, she certainly did not work here, Roland would never allow that. She must have been visiting someone and gotten lost. The only office up here was Roland's, the rest of the rooms were for meetings with clients and I doubt very much she was in the market for commerical real estate. Besides, there didn't seem to be anyone around this late in the day besides Roland himself. As I approached her, I had this strange feeling that I knew her. I standing beside her now and when the elevator opened its doors, she turned towards me - Trixie. I felt an odd and very painful sensation go through my entire body before she caught me and all but threw me into the elevator.
It is only now that it registers, she tazed me. That bitch! I remember very little after that. I do recall being led out of the building and thrown onto the floor of the back of a car. Pain registers in my knees now as I recall hitting the dirty floor of the car. I try to move my arms again and realize that they are held together at my lower back. The more I try to move them, the more my wrists and shoulders hurt. I try to look around the room but there is very little light. I can see nothing on the walls and I appear to be on a bed. I try to swing my legs around and sit up, only to discover that they are bound together as well. A wave of nausea passes through me, partly from my attempts at movement, partly from my predicament. I lay back on my side and drift back into oblivion.
The next time I awake, it is brighter in the room and I am able to see better. I am in a very utilitarian bedroom. I instinctively sit up and am surprised to find the bindings from my feet are now gone and while my hands are no longer bound together, my left hand is handcuffed to the bed. I panic now at this realization. I am not relieved to be no longer totally bound, the complete opposite in fact. I appear to be imprisoned in this room. If they made me more comfortable yet kept me bound that would mean they plan on me being here for a while, right?
All kinds of thoughts are rushing through my mind now. Where am I? Who did this? My head goes to every horror or kidnapping movie I have ever seen. I am praying that this has nothing to do with the Devils and Roland. My God, an outlaw biker gang! What would they do to me to teach Roland a lesson? Bile moves up my throat and I gag, although nothing comes up. Calm down Payton, breathe—in and out, in and out, I say in my head five times.
I look around the room to try to focus on my surroundings but there is little to see. There is a small window above the bed, big enough to let light in and maybe a body to fit through if you were forced to do so. There is a dresser against one wall and a fold up chair leaning against the wall by the door. I rub my hand on the blanket I am laying on top of; it is a scratchy woolen material. Normally I would hate the feel of this but right now I am grateful for it. The roughness gives me something to focus on, something to make the situation feel real.
I hear a key in the door and I scramble to sit up as much as I can with my left arm attached to the headboard. The handcuffs cut into my wrist and I have to use my feet to push myself up. My legs feel like jelly and I don’t get very far. The door opens and I can hear or should I say feel the bass of music playing somewhere. I look up somewhat hesitantly, afraid to see who might be coming in the door. I let out a breath when I see Trixie glaring in at me. At least its not a heavily tattooed biker or three. She slams the door behind her and it is then that I notice she is carrying a tray.
“So, the little princess is finally awake?” she sneers at me mockingly. She places the tray of food on top of the dresser and simply glares down at me. Her eyes are glassy and unfocused, she is obviously high on something. Maybe I can get her to talk. I’m figuring sweet won’t work with her, as she already sees me as a defenseless princess. So, I go for something more her style, swallowing down my nervousness and clearing my throat I begin.
“Let me out of here you bitch,” I try to demand with menace.
This simply makes her throw back her head and laugh. “I don’t think you are in any position to make demands, princess.”
“Where am I? Why are you doing this?” I ask her a little panicked over her laughing at my attempt to be crude.
“It doesn’t matter where you are,” she answers right away. Then pauses before saying, “as for why I am doing this? The reason is as old as time. You took my man and I am not going to let you get off with it.”
I make the mistake of rolling my eyes at this cliché.
“You think you are so much better than me,” she is practically frothing at the mouth now. “You are nothing. Living in your step-father’s house, working at his business, screwing his son. Can’t you get anything on your own?”
At the mention of Jake, I try another tactic. “You know Jake will never forgive you for this, right? Any chance you had of getting him back is gone if you keep me here. If you let me go now, help get me out of here, I’ll tell him that you did so. I’ll tell him it’s over between us and you can have him.” As I say this I feel a stab of pain in my chest.
Trixie laughs like a maniac over that. “Dean warned me you would try something like this. Jake will come back to me. He will tire of his little virginal princess pretty fast. You are nothing but a challenge to him. A bitch to tame and train. I bet you know all of his kinks by now and I bet deep down inside, they disgust you. You could never keep up with his appetite. You know it and I know it. Most of all, Jake knows it. You are your brother’s bitch and nothing more, don’t forget that.” She takes the tray off the dresser and throws it at me. Good thing the sandwich is wrapped. Then she slams the door shut and locks it.
Once my heart calms down, what she said becomes clearer in my mind. ‘Dean warned me.’ Trixie knew Dean too?
