Chapter 207 Boyle is awake

Chapter 207 Boyle is awake
Everybody’s head whipped towards the sound of the voice in sync.

Boyle stood there, hand over his chest, slightly bent, putting all his weight on his leg without injury.

“Boyle!”

Eleanor moved first. She sprinted towards her first son on the staircase. She hugged him tightly. He winced.

“I’m sorry,” she apologized.

Slowly, with Eleanor’s help, he got down from the staircase.

The servants brought a chair for him to sit on.

Heaven just stood in shock, watching her husband awake and alive. It was the first time she was hearing his voice.

“He really didn’t do it, father. Edward did it. He told me himself.”

Richard staggered back.

“Edward said he was hired to give the intel of Blackface to the government. He was the one who had leaked the information of the meeting. He set it up for Oliver to meet to be photographed with the government so he could take the blame for everything,” he explained weakly.

“As for the missing ammunition, I’m sure you all already figured it out. It was Edward’s deal with the government after the military took over. I got a file delivered to my office from an anonymous source. That was when I paid him a visit and asked him to confess his crimes, or I would spill it to my father.” He coughed.

Butler Rose rushed forward with a glass of water. He drank from it.

“He agreed and told me to give him a few days,” he concluded.

“Richard, how trusting of you. I told you I was innocent. Adison told you, and what did you do? You chose to throw away years of friendship by not digging deep. You disowned your sister so that she had to die alone, and you brought her daughter here, where your family maltreated her,” the old man raged. “I hope this haunts you for life.”

“Adison is dead?” Richard asked in disbelief.

“You never once searched for her?” Oliver asked in disbelief.

“I didn’t,” he said, his face laced with regret.

“I thought you sent her here and she had a hand in Boyle’s accident with Edward’s son… I… I…”

“Edward caused the accident,” Boyle spoke again.

“What?” Eleanor asked in disbelief.

“He thought Aunt Adison was going to enter the car, but it turned out that Anderson and I took it.”

“He killed his own son and made us feel guilty all our life. He is a fucking beast.” Eleanor said, tears spilling from her eyes.

Richard’s hand tightened into fists, his teeth clenched tightly.

Oliver stepped closer to Richard. “Where. Is. Edward?” he asked, his eyes burning with an intensity that could light a whole building on fire.

“Dead,” Richard said. He turned around and walked away.

Boyle settled back in the bed. Eleanor, Maverick, and Heaven remained with him.

“Why didn’t you call for help? Why did you come down on your own knowing you were injured?” Eleanor scolded.

“I didn’t want to disturb anyone. Everyone was asleep, and I was not that weak, mother,” Boyle said, smiling.

Heaven’s eyes widened where she stood. If he woke up when everyone was asleep, did it mean he saw her and Maverick sharing a bed?

“What do you mean? I haven’t gotten a wink of sleep. I have been praying all night for you to wake up,” Eleanor continued crying.

“Mother, I’m hungry. Go prepare food for me, made specially by you, please,” Boyle said. He knew that was the only way he could get her to leave the room, else she would cry him back into a coma.

She finally left in a hurry.

“Hey, man. Good to see you.”

“Good to see you alive.”

They greeted each other. Heaven looked at both of them, wondering why the greeting was awkward.

“Can you do me a favor?” Boyle asked.

“What?”

“Get me Bianca. The girl that saved me.”

Maverick walked out, finally leaving Heaven alone with him.

The room suddenly felt tight. “I… I will check your injury and change your bandage,” she said, moving closer and picking up a pair of scissors.

Boyle took it from her and kept it back.

“I know I am seven years late, but I am Boyle Richard. Nice to meet you.”

He stretched out his hand to her. Heaven slowly took it. “I’m Heaven…” she didn’t know the surname to use.

“I’m sorry I wasn’t present at the civil affairs…”

Heaven broke into tears. It started little before it escalated into a big sob, making Boyle at a loss of what to do.

“I’m sorry for apologizing… I… I shouldn’t have brought the day up…”

Heaven shook, wanting to stop crying, but she couldn’t. She never thought she would be apologized to for that day. Boyle stretched his hand out and patted her back until her sobs broke into sniffing, and then she went quiet.

“I’m sorry, I’m still surprised. I never expected this day… it’s just overwhelming,” she said.

Boyle understood, and he had seen some parts of what she went through because of him. He wanted to apologize for a number of things, but he didn’t want her to cry again.

It seemed his wife was a crybaby.

“You should rest… you just woke up from a coma, and your body needs to get back together,” she said.

The door opened. Liam stepped inside with his school bag. “Mama.”

Heaven swallowed hard, her heart thudding against her ribcage.

“Y-yes.”

“I wanted to see you before heading out. You didn’t come to my room like you always do. I wanted to check if you are fine. Good morning, uncle,” Liam greeted the man whose eyes were on him.

“Morning. What’s your name?”

“Liam. And you?”

“Boyle.”

Heaven’s palms were sweaty. She wanted the ground to open and swallow her. It was not like she was embarrassed about her son, but he was the evidence of the fact she cheated, and the resemblance was striking because he already knew with whom.

“Let’s go. I will walk you to the car,” Heaven said, making her way to the door with Liam.

Heaven pulled Liam’s hand until they got to the car.

“Mama, are you angry with me?” he asked.

Heaven realized she had overdone it, and Liam was very sensitive. “I’m not, munchkin. Have a nice time at school, okay? Take care of your sister.”

Heaven dropped a kiss on his forehead and did the same for Rebecca. Havilah just watched them. She bit her lips.

They arrived at school; the rest of the day went like a blur. Havilah stood at the pickup spot, waiting for Liam to go bring Rebecca.

A security officer brought a phone to her. “Your mummy.”

Her face lit up, and she took the phone.

“Hi, baby.”

“Mummy, why are you not coming home?” she asked. “I miss you.”

“I miss you so much. Avi, baby, look forward.” She did, and her mother was there. She had a black face cap on, but Havilah recognized her.

Havilah wanted to move to her. “Stop. Not yet. I don’t have much time. I want to tell you something…”

Havilah nodded. Then the security handed her a paper before leaving.

Liam arrived in time with Rebecca. “What did he give you, Avi?”

“Nothing,” she lied.
