Chapter 146 RH NULL

Chapter 146 RH NULL
Fabian stared at her stunned.

“W-what,”

“You don’t want to..I thought you said you love me?” She asked him.

“I do…,” He said, “More than anything.”

“Then marry me,”

His eyes racked her face trying to see what she had in mind. Just yesterday she had ignored him and clung to Maverick. Now she stood here like a dream asking him to marry her.

He realized. “You remember?”

She didn’t answer him, she had a lot to say but it was lodged in her throat. “I’m such a fool, I’m so stupid not to have seen it,”

Her vision blurred. Maybe she knew he was hiding something but she just didn’t want to know what was at the end.

The memories had crashed into her immediately, her head jammed over the pavement. She understood why she had chosen to forget, it was all heart wrenching

pain and torture.

Fabian took a step closer and pulled her into a hug. “It’s not your fault, that bastard took advantage of you”

She hated how much she still ached for Maverick. She’d wanted to be selfish, to drown in the hurt and let it consume her. But she couldn’t. Not when someone had died because of their tangled mess.

She understood the old woman’s words.

“Betrayal will never leave your path, it will come again, from a place you thought was safe. And what lies ahead will test you in ways you cannot yet imagine”

Her fingers curled into his shirt “I don’t want to live that pain anymore, I don’t want to ever be ‘Heaven’ again. I’m scared..” her voice cracked  “Fabian… Please… help me disappear from that life. Marry me… Make me someone new.” Tears slid down her eyes.

Maverick will never let her go without a fight and she needed an equal match. Vacation indeed. More like a trap to lock her up.

Fabian cupped her face, his thumbs brushed  away the tears. His eyes turned fierce and protective.

“Even if the memories had never come back, I was never going to let you walk through that hell again.” His voice was certain. “So let’s get married, I will handle everything” he told her.

Heaven had never asked him for help before. She had always kept him at arm’s length, refusing to owe him anything. Today she had broken the wall. And he would move mountains fo her—make damn sure Maverick never came within an inch of her again.

She pulled away , her eyes darkened. “There’s something I need to handle personally first.”

Maverick drove with the speed of a lightning.

He stormed into the military hospital. The nurse at the desk recognized him instantly and pointed down the corridor without a word.

Edward and Kiara were all present in front of the operating room faces drawn.

Eva paced furiously clutching her phone tight until her knuckles turned white as tears streaked down her face as she bit her nails.

She kept redialing Maverick’s number nonstop whispering curses.

“Why won’t he take my calls. WHY!!!!!” She screamed. Hysterical.

Immediately she spotted Maverick and she approached him.

“Where the hell have you been?” She lunged, grabbing fistfuls of his shirt. “I called you over and over. If you hate me, do you have to hate your own daughter too?”

Kiara rushed forward, trying to pull her back before a scene erupted.

“Evagel, this is a public space,”

Then she froze. Everyone did.

The hickeys left adorned his neck and  trailed down to his collarbone, disappearing under his shirt. Fresh evidence of where he had really been.

He yanked his shirt away from her fist brushed past her like she was invisible, not attempting to cover the marks.

“What happened to Havilah?,” He asked Kiara.

Eva’s heart squeezed in pain.Humiliation washed every part of her.

Her knuckles turned what, her eyes turned red as tears of pain slid down.

She turned and threw her phone at him.

“WHAT DO YOU CARE, MAVERICK?” Her voice cracked. “When she was well you barely ever came to see her so why act like you care. Go fuck your whore while your daughter is lying lifeless in.. there!”

The words stabbed him in the heart. Maverick’s hand clenched at his side. Did her accusation sting? Yes, deeply. But he didn’t regret the sex. He only regretted every missed moment with Havilah.

The door to the operating room opened. Eva rushed forward.

“How’s my Avi?”

The doctor raised a hand “We could go to my office—“

“Say it,” Maverick cut in, clearly as impatient as Eva.

The doctor exhaled. “We managed to stop the bleeding, but she is not out of critical stage yet,”

Eva’s legs almost gave way. Her mother caught her in time.

“Take her out of it then. That’s why she was brought here,” Maverick said.

The doctor's face tightened. “Well your child has hemophilia,it’s a rare disorder where the blood lacks protein to make it cloth. The injury on her head wouldn’t stop bleeding so she lost so much blood and will be needing blood immediately ” he explained.

“If she needs blood to be stable, give her,” Kiara chimed in, getting tired of seeing her daughter crying.

“That’s the problem, She has a rare blood type. It’s RH null golden blood. It’s hard to find compatible donors. So we need to test her biological parents,”

Eva’s head snapped toward Maverick. Her lips parted, but no sound came out.
