Chapter 141 Mall III
Liam’s eyes moved to her.
Havilah’s frozen mid-hug, “Butler Rose,” her eyes flicked from her to Heaven, then back again.
“You know her?”
Butler Rose’s throat worked. Her gaze stayed fixed on Heaven. Ever since she was thrown out seven years ago she hadn’t set her eyes on her.and truly she feared something might had happened to her.
“I’m sorry,” Heaven said politely,“Do I know you?”
Butler Rose swallowed. “N–no, ma’am. Forgive me. You just… resemble someone I know.” Was she not Heaven? No she was, the boy looked so much like Maverick, his nose, mouth sharpness of his jaw. The only thing gotten from his mother was his hazel eyes.
“Who does my mama look like?” Liam asked the woman with interest.
Butler Rose looked back to the boy unsure of what answer she was to give.
But before she could speak.
Heaven’s phone rang, pulling them out of the tension.
Maverick.
“Hello Mave,” she answered, her voice soft.
Pause.
Heaven turned slightly angling her head towards the entrance. “You are here to pick us up already? We are not done yet still about picking out clothes for Rebecca,”
Pause.
“We are at the section for teddy bears” Heaven turned her head looking for how to direct him. “Section 10B.”
The call dropped.
Butler Rose's head whipped around, if Maverick was coming here they both needed to leave.
“Miss Avi,” she said carefully trying to hide the urgency in her voice “we should continue shopping.”
“We should just join them.” Avi didn’t want to leave yet. She didn’t let go of Liam’s arm
“Hi Liam’s mama, my name is Havilah, nice to meet you.” She beamed up at Heaven.
“It’s nice to meet you too,I’m Vera” Heaven smiled back.
Rebecca, who had been quiet, clinging to Heaven's leg peeked out innocently. “Brother Liam, why are your ears red? Are you in pain?”
“I..I am fine Rebecca..” Liam said flustered. “Mama we should hurry.”
“Liam, you didn’t tell me you had a sister.” Avi came close, to touch Rebecca’s arm but the little girl hid behind Heaven holding tightly to her bear.
She was scared of girls with good looking clothes, they would take her teddy.
“Mommy, see uncle.” Rebecca was the first to spot Maverick; she pointed to the transparent Elevator that was sliding down the rail.
Maverick stood inside, hands in pockets, eyes already scanning the crowd.
Butler Rose pulse spiked; she needed to get Havilah out of here urgently.
Havilah's head whipped to look. She held it back.
“Little miss.” She said firmly this time. “Your grandpa said to return home, for your lessons”
Havilah hesitated. “Right now? But he said I could have a break.”
“He changed his mind.”
Havilah shoulder slackened, she turned to Liam.
“Bye Liam See you at school.”
Butler Rose tugged the little girl away, Havilah glanced over her shoulder once before they took the next turn.
Heaven watched them expressionless for a moment before looking away.
In the car after they left. Her mind was packed with a lot of questions. Havilah stared at her phone playing games in absent taps. Butler Rose decided to ask.
“Avi,” she called gently “the friend you always talked about, was it that little boy,”
“Yes, Liam,” she answered without looking up.
“How did you know him?”
“He saved me one time in Suncity while on vacation with Mother and Uncle Killian, and then once in school.” She explained. “He is nice, even when he is grumpy.”
Butler thought this was truly fate trying to play its work. How could the siblings meet each other and become friends while being miles apart.
She was unsure to ask this one but she asked anyway.
“Do you know his father?”
She shook her head. “Liam said his mama doesn’t want him and his mama,”
Butler Rose fell quiet. What did this mean? Maverick already knew about the child? Was that why he asked if Heaven left on her own that day?
She shook her head. It’s obvious he didn’t know yet what happened that night, else there’s no way he would have been calm about it.
Eleanor had made a big mistake throwing Heaven out that night whilst she was carrying a Richard heir. This was catastrophic.
“Butler Rose thank you for coming out with me,” Avi spoke, pulling her out of her thoughts. “I didn’t want to ask anyone else from there.” She muttered and looked back into her phone.
“It’s really my pleasure. Little miss, why didn’t you wanna ask anymore from there?”
She looked up at the butler unsure if it was okay to tell and decided not to. She shrugged her shoulders.
Butler Rose was now concerned. She knew the Edwards really well and she didn’t have a good impression. “If you don’t feel comfortable, you can come home, we miss you?”
“I’m okay. I will come home soon with my friend.”
Butler Rose's eyes widened. “With Liam?”
Havilah shook her head.
“Do you have another friend Avi?”
She didn’t respond again; she focused fully on her game now.
The car rolled past and came to a stop. Edward’s estate wasn’t as vast as that of the Richards but it didn’t pale. It carried the same weight of old money and crushing secrets.
Memories poured into her head. She had just been the wife of a chauffeur.
“Help my child, please…” A younger version of herself, clutching a crying toddler Killian, begged.
“On one condition…” Edward’s cold and ruthless voice rang.
The car door opened, jolting her out of her memory. Havilah was about getting down.
She shuffled and pulled out a lunch box “Avi, can you help give this to Uncle Killian?”
The little girl creased her brows.
“I’m not sure I’m allowed to go there.”
“Go where?”
“The cell behind the house,”
Butler Rose's face turned ice. She got down from the car and stepped her feet on a land she wasn’t supposed to and slammed the door shut.
She marched into the main house her heels clicking the floor.
“Edward!!!!!”
