CHAPTER TWO
Rachel peered through the crowd to see who she was referring to.
"WOW", She exclaimed when she saw a well-built, tall muscular man standing with his hands in his pocket.
He was wearing a facemask but Rachel knew he was hella handsome judging by his appearance.
There were some guards behind him which means he is one of those rich men, spoilt men exactly.
She shook her head as she watched the scene in front of her.
"She is trying to frame him up.", She thought after observing the lady.
Rachel might not be the type of girl who is smart when it comes to books but knows everything about ladies. She has witnessed how ladies plan to get money from men or how to make them fall in love. Many girls at her universities have done this countless times and they have always succeeded. The woman in front of her is no exception. She is just trying to frame him up to get money from him. She shook her slightly and turned to go but heard some people whispering,
"Isn't that the CEO of Dante's company? The only man that rarely shows his face?"
The female in blue said, covering her mouth as she whispered to the person next to her.
"Yes you are right, He is the one", the other lady in brown confirmed.
Rachel's eyes beamed with light as she heard the two words, "CEO" and "Dante".
"Oh so he is the CEO", she thought of devising a plan in her mind. "Then I need to help him out so that I can get on his good side". She smiled cunningly and walked back to the crowd.
"Hey girl, you have to think before you speak like that", Rachel said, coming in between the man and the lady. The lady was confused and too stunned to speak.
"And who–who are you?", she asked rudely, folding her arms. Meanwhile, the man assumed to be the CEO was quite taken aback by the lady who just stepped. He is not interested in letting his guards handle this issue because he thinks it is useless. This is not the first time a woman is accusing him of doing something he did not do and to him, they are all the same except-his mother.
"I saw everything", She said, folding her arms. "Or have you forgotten there is a CCTV camera in this room? You should not frame someone for a crime he did not commit", She said and the man raised his brows trying to understand why she is defending him
"Or do you want us to check the CCTV camera?", Rachel added and the woman nervously scratched the back of her neck. The crowd started murmuring.
"No… I don't need to check the CCTV camera… I just want him to apologize to me and if he says he will not… then I will probably let it slide or-"
"Then you should have let it slide since rather than causing a scene, ma'am" She ended with a smirk and the crowd started pointing an accusing finger at the lady.
She stomped her feet in anger and walked out. All the people went back to their busy work shaking their heads at the shameless act by the woman. Rachel turned to face the CEO but he had already started walking out.
"Excuse me!"She said and ran to stop in front of him, laughing sarcastically.
"Are you sure you did not forget something like how to say thank you?"She said indirectly and he raised his eyebrows as if he was asking the question
"Are you for real?". She scoffed and tried to fold her sleeves, ready to hit his poker face but remembered, he is the CEO of the company she is going to work at. "I cannot believe the CEO of the company is arrogant, but I cannot punch him since I need this job", she thought and brought down her sleeves.
"Hmm don't worry. I was not planning to do anything. Just go on and consider me your savior", she said laughing by herself. His guards glanced at each other wondering what kind of lady this was while he looked at her with no expression.
You look real good baby", Madeline answered for the fourth time. Rachel has been changing her makeup and her hairstyle just to make sure she is well-fit for the interview, "Are you sure?"
She asked again while adjusting her collars. Madeline came closer, placing her psalm on Rachel's shoulders.
"More than sure. Now go and make me proud'', They both hugged each other and Rachel hurriedly left the house so that she won't be late.
She waited for the bus at the bus terminal. It arrived after 10 minutes and she got in. Numerous thoughts ran through her mind.
She recalled how she made a fool out of herself in front of her soon-to-be boss. She just hopes he doesn't remember her face from yesterday,
"Oh God, please let him hit his head and lose his memories of yesterday's incident". She even tried to wear a face mask to cover her identity but she figured it was of no use. So she just prayed and hoped he would forget. When the bus stopped in front of the Company, she got down after using her credit card. "Finally", She said to herself as she stood in front of the company debating whether to go in or not.
Leonardo Dante, the youngest millionaire in Los Angeles is seated in his office with his face mask on as usual. None of his workers has seen his real face and nobody knows why he always wears a face mask.
Rumors went around saying perhaps he is ugly or had a big scar on his mouth. However, nobody knows his real face and he does not seem to care about anything they say.
He rarely talks and he is neither friendly nor wicked, just in-between but there is something he hates- when you don't take your job seriously. Nobody comes late to the company because if you do, consider that as being fired.
