Chapter 94 Sit Still, Don't Move
Olivia didn't notice his gaze and kept playing with Lightning.
Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in the sole of her foot.
She gasped softly and stopped.
"What happened?" Andrew asked immediately.
Olivia frowned. "I think I stepped on something."
She quickly lifted her foot to check.
Sure enough, a small piece of seashell was stuck in her foot, and blood started to ooze out.
Andrew saw it too and frowned. "Looks like it's pretty deep. We need to clean that up to prevent infection."
Olivia nodded.
Andrew called out to David, who was nearby. "Hey, get the first aid kit."
"On it!" David responded and hurried off.
Andrew turned back to Olivia, who was standing on one leg. "Let's get you to a chair. Can you walk?"
Olivia nodded. "Yeah, I can manage."
Though it hurt, she could walk on her tiptoes.
Andrew didn't push her. "Take it slow," he advised.
Olivia nodded and moved carefully.
But the sand was soft, and the waves occasionally washed some of it away, making her footing uneven.
In a moment of urgency, Andrew reached out to steady her.
She felt his strong hand support her elbow.
Startled for a second, she heard Andrew's calm voice. "Let me help you so you don't hurt yourself again."
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Olivia quickly thanked him. "Thanks, Mr. Hamilton."
Andrew didn't seem to mind and guided her to a seat.
As soon as she sat down, he withdrew his hand.
"Mommy, does it hurt?" Bianca came over, her face full of concern.
Seeing her mom hurt, she lost all interest in collecting seashells.
Olivia quickly reassured her. "It's okay, sweetie. It's bleeding, but it's not serious. It'll heal soon. If you're scared, you don't have to look."
Bianca wasn't scared, just worried. She frowned and looked at her mom with concern.
Just then, David returned with the first aid kit.
Olivia wanted to treat the wound herself to keep Bianca from worrying, but Andrew, who had already crouched down, took the kit first.
"I'll handle it. The shell needs to be cleaned out properly, and you can't do that from your angle."
With that, Andrew opened the kit and took out tweezers, antiseptic, and gauze.
David's eyes widened in shock, as if he couldn't believe what he was seeing.
Olivia felt even more embarrassed.
Given Andrew's status, it seemed inappropriate for him to be doing this.
She quickly said, "It's okay, I can do it myself."
But Andrew's tone was firm. "Sit still and don't move."
His short command carried an authority that made Olivia comply without question.
Seeing her settle down, Andrew began to treat her wound.
He worked quickly and efficiently, removing the fragment, cleaning the wound, and bandaging it in just a few minutes.
As Andrew wrapped the bandage, his fingers brushed against her ankle, sending an unexpected shiver through Olivia.
Andrew didn't seem to notice and calmly instructed, "Keep the wound dry and stay off your feet. Let Bianca explore on her own."
Olivia thanked him softly, "Thanks, Mr. Hamilton."
Andrew nodded slightly and told David to put the first aid kit away.
Olivia then sat alone on the beach chair to rest.
Seeing that her mom was okay, Bianca resumed collecting seashells, and Andrew stayed nearby, later teaching Lightning how to swim.
As evening approached and the tide began to rise, Andrew decided it was time to bring Bianca back to shore.
The temperature was dropping, and he didn't want her to catch a cold.
It was then that he noticed a strange flash of light in the distance.
Andrew's eyes narrowed dangerously.
David, who was nearby, also sensed something was off.
Andrew's voice turned sharp and cold, "Go check it out."
David nodded and quickly headed off.
About ten minutes later, David and a bodyguard dragged a man from behind a tree near the beach and pinned him to the ground.
"Who are you? Don't you know this is a private beach? And you dare to take pictures with a camera?" David snapped, snatching the camera from the man's hands and opening it.
To his surprise, it was filled with photos of Olivia, Bianca, and Andrew.
David's expression turned serious, a hint of caution in his eyes.
Andrew had a special status, and many foreign entities and countries wanted to recruit him or eliminate him.
Was this man a spy?
David's eyes darkened, and his expression became fierce. He yanked the man up and coldly demanded, "Who sent you? Speak up, or else…"
The private detective was terrified.
He had never encountered anything like this before.
He was just following Michael's orders to catch Olivia cheating.
He hadn't expected Olivia to enter a private beach.
He thought he would leave empty-handed, but found a tree that offered a good vantage point and climbed it.
Then this group of intimidating people showed up and dragged him down.
Now they were threatening his life.
The detective was scared out of his wits and quickly confessed, "Mr. Johnson sent me to follow Mrs. Johnson and catch her cheating! I'm just a detective following orders!"
David was taken aback.
Catching a cheater, and he came here?
Still cautious, David didn't immediately believe him and continued to question, "What's your name? Which agency are you from? Do you have any proof that you're telling the truth?"
The detective, already frightened and restrained, didn't dare hide anything.
He quickly confessed everything and handed his phone to David.
David checked the phone and found that it matched the detective's story.
He really was there to catch someone cheating, not a spy.
But he had already sent some photos to Michael earlier in the afternoon.
The photos were blurry due to the distance, but it was still clear that Andrew was one of the people in them.
David was speechless.
What kind of idiot detective was this?
He hadn't even figured out what was going on before making accusations!
