Chapter 414: Unable to Leave the Room for Three Days
Andrew seemed to read her mind and whispered in her ear, his voice was hoarse beyond belief, "No one will come!"
As he spoke, his breathing was somewhat heavy, and in his cool eyes, two flames burned intensely, scorching hot.
Olivia just glanced at him once and felt like she was about to be consumed.
The moment the heat wave hit, her last bit of rationality was swept away.
As their intimacy deepened, Olivia truly experienced what it meant to be consumed by passion, to be burned by fierce, unrelenting flames.
She felt like her soul was melting, as if floating in the air.
But the next second, it was as if she was a small boat caught in a storm.
Overwhelmed by the dizzying sensation, Olivia could only cling to him instinctively, holding on tightly as she called his name again and again.
"Andrew, Andrew."
The tender moaning reached Andrew's ears.
He found his self-control was on the verge of collapse.
He could only restrain himself, gently comfort her, tenderly kiss her again and again, their fingers tightly intertwined.
Unlike the darkness of the previous night, under the bright lights, they could clearly see every emotion and reaction on each other’s faces.
When it was all over, more than an hour had passed.
Olivia was so exhausted she couldn’t move a finger, her thoughts scattered and unfocused.
After he was satisfied, Andrew tenderly and lovingly scooped up Olivia, who looked like she'd been through hell, and carried her back to the bedroom to wash up.
Olivia was completely limp, letting him carry her.
She thought after washing up, she could catch her breath and rest properly.
But she discovered she'd been fooled by him again!
"Didn't you say it wouldn't take long?"
Olivia accused him shyly, trying to stop him.
But her weak body couldn't push him away, and she could only let him continue doing as he pleased.
Andrew left an obvious mark on her shoulder, his voice low and sexy, "Compared to last night, it really won't be that long."
Olivia wanted to protest.
But before she could speak, Andrew blocked her lips again.
In the end, Andrew held her through two more rounds of lovemaking.
After their pleasure ended, Olivia's last bit of strength was completely drained.
She was drowsy all over, could barely keep her eyes open, and it was Andrew who carried her to wash up again, dried her off, and brought her back.
Before falling asleep, she was still full of resentment toward Andrew, "Andrew, what about that self-restraint you promised? You liar!"
Her soft mumbling sounded like she was acting cute in his ear.
Andrew's expression was full of satisfaction and contentment, his eyes showing indulgence.
He rarely defended himself, "That's just what people outside say. Olivia, be good, we don't believe in rumors!"
Before, he thought he just had a low sex drive.
But after these two nights, he discovered that wasn't the case at all!
At least, in front of her, he couldn't maintain his previous composure!
Olivia's mind was in chaos, but she still didn't forget to punch his chest lightly, humming, "I don't like you anymore."
But the force was too light, making it seem more like she was being playful.
Andrew chuckled, then grabbed her fist, kissed it, and said domineeringly, "That won't do. Olivia can only like me!"
Olivia didn't hear this last sentence.
Andrew didn't mind either, pulling her into his arms and falling asleep holding her.
Because their relationship had taken another step forward, Olivia was also forcibly kept by Andrew at Liliana Retreat for three days.
Finally, unable to resist the urging from the research institute, he reluctantly agreed to let her go.
Early in the morning, after washing up, Olivia went into the walk-in closet to change clothes.
Andrew's tall figure leaned against the cabinet nearby, watching her.
His handsome face showed a bland expression, mixed with a bit of displeasure.
During these three days, the two had been inseparable day and night, never stepping out of Liliana Retreat, just like a couple in their honeymoon period, living very sweetly.
Andrew loved spending time alone with her.
Having to suddenly let her go, he was naturally unwilling and reluctant.
Because once they walked out that door, they would be forced to separate for so many hours.
Andrew watched Olivia, who was still choosing clothes, and hugged her waist from behind.
Resting his chin on her shoulder, he asked lazily, "You're just going back to work today, you shouldn't have to actually work, right?"
Olivia took out an outfit, thought about it, and said, "Probably not, but I need to do a new handover and learn about the new tasks.
If I finish everything, it'll probably be evening."
Hearing this answer, Andrew was slightly more satisfied and said, "That's good. I'll pick you up then, and we'll go back to your place and have dinner with your family."
Hearing this, Olivia glanced back at him, "You kept me from going home for three days, aren't you afraid my parents will kick you out?"
Andrew's voice was lazy, but he didn't evade, saying, "I'm afraid, but I'll take the beating. After all, I kept you away for so many days, I need to go apologize."
Olivia couldn't help but glare at him reproachfully, "If I don't come home for one night, I can barely explain it away by saying I drank too much that night and had a hangover.
But now, even if I can cover up these marks on my body, my parents will know what happened between us these past few days!"
Thinking about this, Olivia felt embarrassed.
Three days!
Before, when she saw people saying such things online, she thought it was ridiculous and exaggerated.
Until she experienced it herself, she realized it wasn't exaggerated at all!
If she hadn't insisted on protesting, Andrew probably wouldn't have even let her leave the room.
Moreover, looking at how composed he was now, he clearly still had plenty of energy left.
Her bones were practically falling apart, okay?
Tonight when she went back, she didn't even know how to face Vaughn and Victoria!
Most importantly, they had just accepted Andrew, and Andrew was already so bold and unrestrained!
Would his impression score with Vaughn and Victoria drop back to where it started?
Thinking about all this, Olivia couldn't help but worry.
Her pretty face looked a bit troubled.
Andrew's heart itched watching her. He pinched her chin and kissed her, teasing, "Don't look so miserable. Trust me, they won't do anything.
Even if they really want to blame us, I'll smooth things over with them, understand?"
Olivia looked up at him, "Are you sure?"
"Of course."
Andrew nodded, answering her very seriously, "You have to trust a psychologist's negotiation skills."
Olivia thought about Andrew's capabilities and could only choose to trust him. No matter how much she worried, the problem still needed to be solved. Psychological tactics happened to be his specialty.
Since he could treat Bianca and win her over, then winning over Vaughn and Victoria should be easy too.
Convincing herself this way, Olivia gradually relaxed and left this matter for him to handle.
While they were talking, Olivia had also changed her clothes. After adjusting Andrew's tie for him, they went downstairs together for breakfast.
After eating, Andrew personally drove Olivia to the research institute before heading back to his company.
After nearly a month away, returning gave Olivia a sense of nostalgia.
She first went to Leon's office to report in and apologize for only coming back to work today.
But Leon looked confused and said, "We did notify you to return to work the day before yesterday, but later the higher-ups said that to compensate you, they gave you three days off.
This morning, they were worried you might forget, so they sent another reminder.
This whole thing was Zoey's fault, and the research institute owes you an explanation. You were wronged, so taking time to rest and adjust is appropriate. You don't need to apologize."
Hearing this, Olivia blinked, then realized what happened.
These three days off were probably arranged by Andrew behind the scenes, weren't they?
Otherwise, how could it be such a coincidence?
Thinking about it, Olivia found it a bit funny.
She didn't expect that Andrew, who looked like such a proper gentleman on the outside, would privately use his influence to get her time off just to spend more days with her.
No wonder he kept her at Liliana Retreat for so many days before letting her go!
Olivia didn't dare think too much about it and quickly replied, "So am I going back to my original team?"
Leon didn't answer, but asked her instead, "What do you think? You and Oscar work well together. The higher-ups suggest you continue partnering.
As for Zoey's vacancy, they'll assign someone to fill it.
Of course, if you're unwilling, you can reorganize. That's also part of your compensation!"
Olivia thought about it and didn't say anything about refusing, "I'll follow your arrangement. The research tasks come first!"
Hearing this answer, Leon's expression showed satisfaction and relief.
Olivia's rationality and understanding were exactly what the research institute needed.
So he didn't waste time and immediately decided, "Then continue with your original team and follow the higher-ups' arrangements. Work hard.
Olivia, I really recognize your abilities, and I'm very much looking forward to your performance going forward.
Don't worry, what happened before with team members sabotaging each other will absolutely never happen again!"
"I hope so."
Olivia really didn't want to deal with another colleague like Zoey.
Leon smiled and said, "Don't worry, it absolutely won't happen again, because yesterday, the institute issued a new regulation. If anyone discovers malicious competition within a team, everyone can report it and have an investigation team intervene.
Once someone is found to have framed a colleague or slowed down team progress, the lightest punishment is dismissal.
For serious cases, they'll blacklist the person from all development in the industry as punishment, with no leniency!"
Now Olivia was satisfied!
She also knew this was the research institute's way of giving her closure and warning others.
Everyone who entered the research institute invested their passion and energy into research projects.
What happened to her this time might have made some people gloat, but it also made others worried.
Because what happened to her today could happen to them someday.
And what the research institute was doing now was letting everyone know.
This wasn't a place where people could act on impulse.
It was also a way to reassure everyone else.
