Chapter 407 Do You Want to Have a Child?
Olivia was stunned by the scene.
It took her several seconds to snap out of it before she rushed forward to pull Evelyn back.
"Evelyn, stop it! Come back here!"
Olivia didn't care about Michael getting hit—she was just worried that Evelyn might go too far and give Michael a chance to accuse her of assault. That would be more trouble than it was worth.
At that moment, Robert and the bodyguards, who had been waiting in the shadows, also rushed over.
They had originally been waiting for Michael and Olivia to finish talking.
But who could have expected Evelyn to suddenly become violent?
When they arrived, everyone quickly separated them, finally stopping the beating that only occurred from one side.
Olivia held Evelyn and looked nervously turned to Michael.
Though he looked a bit disheveled, apart from the obvious slap mark on his face and some scratch marks on his chin from her nails, everything else seemed fine.
At least he wasn't disfigured.
She breathed a small sigh of relief, then quickly said, "Evelyn was drunk and acted inappropriately. I apologize on her behalf."
Then she looked at Robert and said, "If needed, take him to the hospital for a checkup. I'll cover the medical expenses!"
Robert didn't know how to respond.
They could all tell that Olivia wanted to draw a clear line with Michael.
But there was a possibility Michael wasn't going to accept any of it.
Robert stayed silent, and kept his gaze on Michael as he waited for his signal.
Michael's expression remained utterly sour. He stared at Olivia with dark eyes, a flash of pain crossing them.
The Olivia he remembered wasn't anything like this.
Her attitude wasn't as cold and uncaring as this.
Once upon a time, whenever he had even a headache or felt tired from work, she was always the one who worried the most.
She would fuss over him, worry about him.
Now, those bright eyes no longer held even a trace of warmth.
This wasn't what he wanted to see.
Her gaze should have him in it.
She loved him—even after the divorce, she shouldn't have forgotten him so quickly!
Olivia ignored his accusatory gaze.
She had said everything that needed to be said. Whether Michael listened was solely his concern.
Right now, what took top priority was getting Evelyn out of that place.
Soon, Olivia pulled Evelyn away.
As they left, neither of them noticed Sophia hiding in a corner at the end of the hallway, watching them with dark eyes.
Her gaze was especially venomous as she stared at Olivia's retreating form.
Tonight, she had finally convinced that Peter guy to bring her to this restaurant for dinner.
Because she had found out that Michael would be here tonight.
She used the excuse of needing to use the restroom as an attempt to find a chance to meet with Michael.
She deeply regretted what she had done before, and kept thinking that as long as she played the victim role in front of Michael, begged for forgiveness, he would soften and let her come back.
But she never expected to come out and see those two together before she even got a chance to put her plans into motion.
Sophia ground her teeth in hatred.
Olivia, that bitch!
She already had a better man—why was she still clinging to Michael and ruining her happiness?
That engagement party would have been completely ruined if Olivia hadn't butted in!
If everything had gone smoothly, she would now be the envied Mrs. Johnson.
She wouldn't have been forced to submit to that pervert Peter, enduring inhuman torture every day!
Jealousy and resentment consumed Sophia on the inside.
Her eyes turned red, and she swore to herself that she would get revenge for all these things!
All the suffering she was enduring now—one day, she would make Olivia pay it back a thousand, ten thousand times over!
While Sophia's features twisted with hatred, Aurelia stood close by, quietly observing all of it.
Everything that happened at tonight's ball had made her furious and jealous to the point of madness.
All those comments and mockery made it impossible for her to stay inside.
But she never expected to witness such drama when she decided to come out for some fresh air!
Good, good, this was really good!
Aurelia's mood suddenly brightened.
It seemed to her that she hadn't lost the game just yet.
She still had cards to play.
Michael was one.
This Sophia was another!
She had clearly caught the viciousness and hatred in the woman's eyes.
Sophia's grudge against Olivia was definitely no less than Charlotte's.
She was someone who could be put to good use.
And then there was Charlotte.
They all hated Olivia to different degrees, and this was something she could exploit!
Aurelia watched the scene quietly, her eyes full of calculation and satisfaction.
Olivia was completely unaware.
She dragged Evelyn back to the venue in a hurry, and at the entrance, ran right into Jade, Andrew and the others.
Everyone seemed clearly concerned.
But they finally relaxed after they saw that they'd returned.
"You're finally back? Where did Evelyn run off to? I couldn't find her or you, so I had to come back and get backup. Is she okay?"
Jade looked at Evelyn with furrowed brows.
Right now, she wasn't clearheaded at all, she placed half her weight on Olivia, and could barely keep her eyes open.
She was still mumbling, "Don't stop me! I need to hit him again!"
Olivia's expression was somewhat indescribable, and she wasn't sure how to explain to them, so she just said, "Nothing serious. When I found her, she was hugging a decorative tree at the hotel, and treating it like a person.
She kept demanding directions from the tree, and when the tree didn't respond, she threw a tantrum."
Jade couldn't help but laugh, "That sounds like something she'd do."
She didn't make Olivia keep supporting Evelyn alone and went forward to help.
But just then, Evelyn started making a fuss again, and was yelling at the top of her lungs, "I'll beat you to death!"
Neither Olivia nor Jade were prepared and almost got knocked over.
Benjamin couldn't stand to keep watching any longer and quickly stepped forward, scooping Evelyn up and restraining her in his arms, "Why are you causing so much commotion?"
He looked puzzled and said, "What, the tree wouldn't give you directions, so now you're going to fight the tree?"
Olivia let out a breath and explained, "Not quite. She actually did hit someone."
"What?"
Benjamin's eyes widened. He swallowed and asked, "Who did she hit?"
Everyone present at tonight's ball held some significant status.
Benjamin was also worried that Evelyn had offended an important family within such a short timeframe.
Jade also asked worriedly, "Is the person okay? How bad is it?"
Olivia's expression was fairly calm. She shook her head and said, "She should be fine. She's not strong enough to have caused much damage."
Everyone visibly relaxed after hearing this, "That's good then."
Jade was really scared and quickly said to Olivia and the others, "Let's get her home then, before she causes more trouble. Benjamin, help me out."
"Okay."
Benjamin didn't object.
So the group headed downstairs together.
The driver quickly brought the car around.
Before long, the two of them left with Evelyn.
That left Olivia with Liam and Andrew.
Liam naturally didn't want to stay and intrude on Olivia and Andrew, and decided to take his leave.
But just then, Andrew suddenly spoke up, "Wait."
"What's wrong?"
Liam turned to him, his brows furrowed in a question.
Andrew looked at Olivia and said to her, "Ms. Thomas did hit someone after all, making her responsible for tonight's trouble. To avoid further trouble, it's better to have someone go check on the situation. What do you think, Olivia?"
Olivia paused, and stared at him. Andrew's eyes were deep, as if he could see through everything.
Could he have guessed it?
Olivia didn't hesitate and said, "Okay, let's do as you say."
Michael had just proven that night that he intended to keep pestering her.
If this matter wasn't resolved once and for all, he would use it as an excuse to come find her again later.
Just thinking about that scenario annoyed Olivia to no end.
Besides, Evelyn had only acted out because she was trying to defend her.
Olivia didn't want Evelyn to be implicated because of her.
So she said to Liam, "Liam, could you please go check on it? Whatever they demand—medical expenses, emotional distress compensation, or other fees—just agree to all of it. Handle this matter for me completely, will you?"
"Sure."
Liam had no objections.
He was happy to run errands for Olivia.
But he asked curiously, "Who got hit tonight?"
Olivia pressed her lips together and said, "Michael."
Liam was completely taken aback when he heard Michael's name, "Oh, it was him."
He finally understood why Evelyn had hit someone.
He also understood why Andrew wanted to handle this matter first.
This kind of trouble was better dealt with as soon as possible.
Liam immediately assured Olivia, "Don't worry, I'll handle this cleanly for you."
"Thank you."
Liam waved his hand dismissively and soon headed back into the hotel.
Olivia got in the car with Andrew.
Neither of them spoke.
Until the car started moving, Olivia couldn't stand the quiet atmosphere and took the initiative to apologize to Andrew, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hide it from you. I just felt there was no need to mention this kind of thing."
To her, Michael was already as good as irrelevant.
Even running into him was an utterly situation for her—why bring it up and make Andrew uncomfortable too?
Andrew lazily propped up his chin, looked at her and finally said, "It's fine, I don't mind."
From the moment Michael appeared at the ball tonight, Andrew could tell he hadn't given up on Olivia.
But so what?
Someone who had already lost didn't even deserve a glance!
The current Olivia was his.
And his person wasn't someone just anyone could covet and steal away!
He believed in Olivia!
Andrew's gentle tone put Olivia at ease, but she still couldn't help staring at him.
But she saw that he truly didn't hold a grudge, and eventually relaxed.
Michael hadn't caused a misunderstanding between them, but some of what he said tonight had still left Olivia feeling bothered.
He said the Robinson family wanted Andrew to have a child with another woman.
Olivia silently fidgeted with her fingers—a subtle gesture that caught Andrew's attention.
He could tell she had more to say, so he took the initiative to ask, "Is there something else you want to tell me?"
Olivia hesitated for a second then two, before she finally nodded, "There is one thing I want to ask. Andrew, would you want to have a child of your own?"
"What?"
Andrew's refined eyebrows suddenly arched.
Dark currents rolled in his deep eyes, "Why are you asking this?"
Olivia didn't know how to explain, so she just replied, "I just suddenly wanted to know."
