Chapter 405 No One Else Can Fit in My Eyes Anymore
Olivia snapped back to reality, shook her head, and said, "No, I'm just a bit surprised that Anna would take the initiative to invite Daniel. Could she be interested in him?"
Otherwise, she really couldn't figure it out how Daniel and Anna had suddenly become so close.
Hearing this, Andrew almost laughed out loud.
Daniel had liked her for so long, and she had no clue whatsoever.
But Anna being slightly interested in Daniel - she picked up on that instantly.
He felt oddly sympathetic toward Daniel!
However, Andrew didn't point this out. He just answered her question, saying, "Anna is indeed being this proactive for the first time."
Olivia's eyes lit up again as she asked curiously, "They've only met twice, right?"
Andrew said, "Probably, or maybe more. After all, this circle is pretty small - they might have run into each other when out and about.
Besides, the number of times you meet someone doesn't affect your impression of them.
Not to mention, the first time they met, Daniel basically saved her, so the impression must be pretty strong."
Olivia thought that made sense, so she couldn't help glancing over several more times.
Anna and Daniel were already dancing gracefully in the dance floor. Daniel still had that elegant, casual yet quiet demeanor.
Anna looked sweet and charming, constantly chatting with Daniel, her mouth never stopping.
At first glance, one quiet and one lively, they seemed unexpectedly well-matched.
What was even more surprising was Daniel's attitude.
Perhaps mindful of Anna's condition, when he looked down, there was occasional concern in his eyes, and he was asking about how she felt.
Anna's expression was all smiles, looking especially endearing.
Seeing her keep watching others endlessly, Andrew simply wrapped his arm around Olivia's waist and pulled her closer.
Only then did Olivia's attention return. She looked at him puzzled, "What's wrong?"
Andrew's eyes held a hint of danger as he said, "Your dance partner is right in front of you. Instead of looking at me, what are you looking at, Olivia?"
There was an unmistakable jealousy in his tone.
Belatedly realizing she'd been neglecting him, Olivia quickly tried to make up for it by leaning in, wrapping her arms around his neck, and kissing him on the cheek.
Then she said with a smile, "I'm sorry, I was just curious.
I've known Daniel for so many years, and I've never seen him with any other girls.
So seeing him getting along so well with Anna now, I couldn't help but look a few more times.
I promise I won't look anymore. From now on, I'll only look at you!"
Her earnest expression of assurance left Andrew somewhat helpless.
He didn't even want to remind her that Daniel did have a girl around him.
Wasn't she that girl?
Olivia's brain, aside from being filled with research data, was really quite slow at other times.
But that was fine - as long as she wasn't slow when it came to him.
One gentle kiss was enough to sweep away all of Andrew's displeasure.
He contentedly held Olivia, his deep eyes looking at her tenderly as he said, "You said it!"
Olivia nodded, "Really, really!"
Her gaze stayed on him and didn't wander.
With all the incidents tonight, she actually hadn't had a chance to really look at Andrew properly.
Now, looking at Andrew up close, she realized his formal wear fit perfectly, his bearing noble, his handsome features three-dimensional and striking.
His mature masculine charm emanated from deep within.
His slightly upturned eyes, those captivating eyes - clearly showing restraint, coolness, and aloofness.
Yet when his gaze fell on her, it held a tenderness that belonged only to her.
Olivia's heart raced, her ears turning red.
She thought to herself, what had she done to deserve having such a man belong only to her?
Thinking of how Aurelia had tried her best tonight but couldn't shake him even slightly, Olivia's heart felt completely full.
She unconsciously moved closer to him, as if bewitched, her eyes truly unable to hold anyone else.
Andrew saw the infatuation in her eyes, his own gaze darkening.
The two of them, in this intimate position, slowly moved to the music's rhythm.
The atmosphere between them carried a lingering sweetness.
Nothing from the outside world could disturb them.
Evelyn and Benjamin nearby, along with Liam and Jade, saw this scene and couldn't help but smile.
In their friends' eyes, there were only sincere blessings for them.
Daniel also saw their intimate behavior, a bit of loss in his eyes, along with indescribable bitterness.
He lowered his gaze, not looking at them much, his thoughts becoming somewhat distracted.
As his dance partner, Anna noticed immediately and moved even closer to him.
Not controlling her momentum well, she bumped into his chest.
Daniel stiffened, his attention returning to her as he asked, "What's wrong?"
Anna smiled brightly, looking at him and saying, "Nothing, I just noticed you were distracted and about to step on my foot. Mr. Wilson, since you agreed to be my dance partner, could you focus a bit while dancing?
If I fall, you'll have to take responsibility!"
Hearing her unreasonable words, Daniel felt a bit helpless, saying, "That's why I suggested you find someone else. I don't dance very well."
Anna could naturally tell he was lying, but didn't care at all, saying, "That's okay, if you can't do it, I can teach you. I dance really well - there aren't many girls in Harmony City better than me!"
With that, she really did start giving Daniel instructions, teaching him step by step.
Daniel wasn't really unable to dance.
But having already said so, taking it back wouldn't be good, so he could only cooperate and follow her instructions.
As it turned out, not listening would have been better. Once he followed her rhythm, his steps became chaotic.
Either he stepped on Anna or nearly tripped himself.
Finally, Daniel couldn't take it anymore. He quickly held Anna still and asked, "Are you sure you can teach? Your steps are clearly all wrong!"
And this was supposed to be the model for Harmony City's young ladies?
Anna laughed adorably, saying, "What do you mean? I'm clearly right!"
Daniel was speechless, strictly pointing out the problem, "Where were you right? Just now on the fourth beat, you were clearly supposed to step with your left foot. What did you tell me?"
Anna thought back, then blinked and said, "I wasn't wrong. I think it should be the right foot. That's how I always dance."
Daniel insisted, "Left foot!"
"No, right foot!"
The two went back and forth arguing, with Anna grabbing him to dance again, insisting on proving it through practice.
They danced one dance in complete chaos.
Later, Anna nearly fell several times, forcing Daniel to hold her tightly.
He also belatedly realized something, staring at Anna and asking, "You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?"
Anna looked at him with an innocent expression, saying, "No, I really was teaching seriously."
Then her face scrunched up, as if she'd used up all her energy, her body going limp.
"What's wrong?"
Daniel was startled and quickly supported Anna.
Afraid that if he let go, she'd fall to the ground.
Anna's voice became pitiful, "Daniel, I'm having trouble catching my breath. Can you take me to rest?"
Daniel knew about her physical condition.
Hearing this, how could he delay?
He quickly helped Anna to the rest area, asking worriedly, "Should I get Olivia to check on you?"
Anna quickly waved her hand, saying, "No need, no need. I'm just a bit tired. I'll be fine after sitting for a while. Just let me lean on you, please."
Without waiting for Daniel's agreement, she took the initiative to hook her arm through his.
Daniel didn't think much of it.
Of course, he also didn't notice the cute cunning that flashed through Anna's beautiful eyes.
Like a little fox who'd gotten what she wanted.
Daniel beside her had a proud personality and was stubborn.
But his heart was softer than anyone's.
She liked that!
Such a good person naturally had to be won over!
The others didn't notice that these two had already left.
However, after finishing one dance, everyone went to rest, gathering together to drink and chat.
Aurelia in the distance had dug her palms bloody.
She'd witnessed Andrew and Olivia's dance with her own eyes and really couldn't bear the atmosphere between those two.
That intense affection that no one else could penetrate made her jealous, envious, and nearly lose her mind.
How could he look at another woman with those eyes?
She'd known him for so many years but never received even a proper glance from him.
Yet that cheap woman Olivia made him treat her so specially!
Just then, mocking voices from others nearby reached her ears.
"Did you see Mr. Hamilton and Ms. Smith dancing just now? So sweet!"
"Of course I saw. You can tell Mr. Hamilton really likes Ms. Smith!"
"Yes, it seems certain people no longer have a chance."
"Exactly! Fortunately, I saw the situation clearly early on. Though I was reluctant before, Olivia's current status is enough to match him, so I've stopped thinking about it."
"Even if you thought about it, there's no chance. Mr. Hamilton has never let anyone get close to him."
"Speaking of which, didn't Aurelia say before that she was going to have an engagement with Mr. Hamilton? But tonight, he didn't even glance at her!"
"The engagement news was never confirmed. Who knows who spread it - probably her herself."
"That makes sense. After all, with Mr. Hamilton's personality, if he wanted to be with someone, he definitely wouldn't hide it. If there was an engagement, he would have announced it himself long ago."
"Mr. Hamilton seems like it's Ms. Smith or no one. No matter how others compete, they're just losers."
"She even took the initiative to invite him to dance, right in front of his girlfriend, and got rejected. My secondhand embarrassment is kicking in."
"In a way, she's pretty shameless. And she calls herself Harmony City's first socialite!"
"Isn't that title self-proclaimed too? The first socialite should be Anna, right?"
Though everyone was speaking in lowered voices.
Every word stabbed at Aurelia's heart.
After hearing it all, Aurelia nearly died of anger!
It was all that cheap woman Olivia's fault!
Otherwise she wouldn't have been so humiliated!
