Chapter 393 The Expected and the Unexpected Have All Arrived
Aurelia took a sip of red wine and smirked,"Don't worry, we're still here, aren't we?
If that fool Charlotte can't get it done, we'll be generous enough to give her a little push.
As long as we can destroy things between Andrew and Olivia, that's all that matters!"
She couldn't bear seeing Olivia standing next to the man she liked anymore.
If they didn't act fast, even Finnegan might end up charmed by Olivia.
Aurelia felt both nervous and excited.
Beside her, Rachel also had a smug expression on her face as she smiled and said, "It's sure to work! After all, we've invited someone to cause things up too, haven't we?"
As she spoke, Rachel's gaze shifted to the distance, where a tall and handsome figure had suddenly appeared.
The iron-gray suit made him look incredibly elegant.
Even though he was still in a wheelchair, the cold aura around him was particularly noticeable.
That's right, this person here was Michael!
"Of course, there's another key figure tonight who hasn't arrived yet. Should still be on the way."
As Rachel spoke, her eagerness to watch the drama unfold was utterly obvious.
She then checked the time and abruptly realized it was already past eight o'clock.
Rachel was shocked, "Time's gone by so fast."
She couldn't help but look at Aurelia and ask, "Are you sure Mr. Hamilton and Olivia will definitely come?
Everyone who wants to watch this show tonight is already here. We can't have the main characters be absent."
Otherwise, instead of embarrassing Olivia, they'd end up looking like fools themselves.
Aurelia said with certainty, "They'll come! I already had Anna confirm for me. They should be arriving soon, right?"
At that instant, downstairs at the hotel.
Andrew and Olivia arrived fashionably late.
As soon as the luxurious black Rolls-Royce came to a stop, attendants rushed over to open the car door.
Andrew stepped out first, his custom-tailored suit flawlessly highlighting his broad shoulders, lean waist, and long legs.
His refined and restrained aura made it impossible for anyone to have unworthy thoughts—they could only look up to him with reverence.
After getting out, he didn't head straight into the hotel. Instead, he offered his hand toward the back seat.
The bracelet on his wrist dangled down, making his fingers look even more elegant.
Olivia stared at it for two seconds, then smiled and laid her hand in his palm.
"Let's go."
With him here, this wasn't a battlefield she had to face alone.
Olivia stepped out of the car with him.
There were quite a few people moving about at the hotel.
Almost everyone's eyes shifted toward them.
Tonight, Olivia had carefully changed into the dress Andrew had prepared for her.
The fish-tail pattern made of shattered diamonds made her look like a mermaid walking on land.
Her smooth wavy hair flowed over her shoulders like seaweed.
Her features were already bright and beautiful, and with the flawless makeup, she looked absolutely stunning.
Everyone was captivated by their entrance.
Some people even noticed that their outfits were coordinated couple's wear, and they looked flawless standing together.
Olivia gracefully linked Andrew's arm and smiled sweetly, "Let's go in!"
"Okay."
Andrew nodded and guided her into the hotel.
Inside, Anna came rushing down, looking worried about something.
Seeing this, Andrew raised his hand to stop her, "Slow down, why are you hurrying so fast?"
Anna gulped, looking nervous and hesitant.
She seemed unsure whether she should speak.
Andrew didn't like this kind of hesitation, so he said flatly, "Just say what you need to say. It's fine."
Anna had no choice but to confess up and tell him, "I just got word that Grandpa is coming. He'll be here any minute."
Hearing this news, Andrew instantly frowned, "Why would he come?"
Finnegan never attended these kinds of events. His sudden appearance was too odd.
Olivia was briefly stunned.
That Finnegan who fiercely opposed her being with Andrew was coming too?
She lowered her eyes, no longer showing the confidence from before, but instead looking more grave.
It seemed tonight was destined to be anything but calm.
"Andrew, what shall we do?"
Anna asked him worriedly.
Andrew thought for two seconds, then quickly made a decision and told Anna, "You escort Olivia upstairs first. I'll go greet Grandpa. We'll talk about everything else after I come up."
Anna nodded and immediately responded, "Okay!"
She was worried about dealing with Finnegan anyway, so letting Andrew handle it was ideal.
So Anna quickly took Olivia's hand, her face lighting with a smile again as she said, "Olivia, let's go? I'll take you up!"
"Okay." Olivia had no complaints, just glanced at Andrew.
Andrew gave her a comforting look and said, "Wait for me."
Olivia inclined her head slightly.
She trusted he would handle it well.
Then she settled her emotions and followed Anna into the elevator.
Shortly, they arrived at the banquet hall.
Olivia had initially thought that her and Anna's arrival would be quiet and unnoticed.
After all, the banquet had already begun and most of the guests had arrived, so their entrance shouldn't attract too much notice.
But surprisingly, as soon as they walked in, she felt the atmosphere in the entire banquet hall fall oddly silent for a few seconds.
Then, whispered talks began.
"She's here, she's here!"
"Is that Olivia who's been causing all that commotion lately?"
"She's really pretty, not as bad as I imagined."
"So what? She's still just a divorced woman. How could she be fit of Mr. Hamilton?"
As soon as this sarcastic comment came out, some dissatisfied people retorted.
"What's wrong with being divorced? Plenty of people are divorced these days. Why so much animosity?"
"Exactly! As long as Mr. Hamilton likes her! Plus, she's not beneath any of you—she's the head of Medica Vitae Sect and even joined the research institute!"
"Right, even though she is with Mr. Hamilton, she's also very accomplished herself. Why do you keep attacking her for that?"
"Exactly! When that news broke in Emerald City, everyone knew the truth. Meeting a scumbag wasn't her choice."
"Constantly bringing this up is really annoying."
"There are still people defending her these days? Birds of a feather flock together. Olivia's character is just as poor. If you knew what she did, you wouldn't say that."
Among all the discussions, someone threw out this comment, and immediately everyone became curious.
"What did she do?"
As people whispered among themselves, Olivia acted as if she didn't hear and followed Anna through the crowd, heading toward Evelyn and the others.
Evelyn and Daniel were here tonight, along with Benjamin and Liam.
But halfway there, someone suddenly spoke to her, "You shouldn't have come tonight."
The voice was calm but strangely familiar.
Olivia looked over in surprise and found it was Michael.
Olivia felt like laughing inside.
Perfect!
Just perfect!
Those who should come and those who shouldn't have all shown up.
It seemed someone had worked very hard to arrange this show tonight!
Olivia's eyes were somewhat cold. She just glanced at him and was about to keep walking.
But Michael spoke again, "Olivia, let's talk."
Anna was also sizing up Michael.
She had learned about what happened in Emerald City before, so naturally she knew who Michael was.
Hearing him say this, she felt inexplicably nervous and clutched Olivia's arm tightly, unwilling to let her go.
Are you kidding? Andrew had entrusted Olivia to her, so of course she had to watch over her!
What if she got taken away and Olivia disappeared?
Andrew had finally found someone he liked!
Olivia sensed her emotions and gently patted the back of her hand as if to soothe her, then said calmly, "Sorry, I have nothing to talk about with Mr. Johnson."
Michael frowned and said, "Olivia, don't be difficult. You should know how many people here tonight have bad intentions toward you. They're all waiting to see you make a fool of yourself."
"So what?"
Olivia's gaze was cold as she replied ruthlessly, "My business has nothing to do with Mr. Johnson."
Michael looked at her with deep eyes, "How is it not related? You're Bianca's mother. I won't sit by and watch you be targeted. Come to my side. With me here, no one will do anything to you."
Those who didn't know might actually believe his protective stance.
Olivia really wanted toscoff. She didn't know if Michael was pretending to be confused or genuinely didn't understand.
With him around, those people would probably target her even harder.
Besides, what kind of malice hadn't she faced?
Back in Emerald City, he was the one who hurt her the most.
Now, what kind of good guy act was he putting on here?
Perhaps Olivia's gaze was too sarcastic, making Michael's expression darken.
His handsome face tensed as he calmly tried to convince her, "Olivia, a place like Harmony City isn't right for you.
If you're willing, come back to Emerald City with me.
We can go back to how things were."
He didn't say it explicitly, but the meaning was clear.
Was he inviting her to remarry?
Olivia felt like she was hearing some ridiculous joke.
Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!
What made Michael think she still couldn't live without him?
Anna, watching this, felt even more nervous.
Wasn't Michael going too far? Who tries to steal someone away like this?
Olivia was already with Andrew!
Just as Anna was considering whether to speak up, Olivia couldn't contain herself and scolded first, "Are you sick? If you're sick, go get treatment, okay? Stop hovering in front of me."
She must be sick too, stopping for what?
Such a disgusting person should be avoided immediately!
Olivia didn't bother with him anymore and just left with Anna.
As soon as she got back to Evelyn and the others, Evelyn hurried over and asked, "Olivia, was Michael just talking to you? What did he do to you this time?"
Olivia's face didn't look good, and she didn't want to talk about it. She found it repulsive!
At that moment, a piercing voice suddenly rang out in the crowd.
"Olivia, how do you still have the nerve to show up at an event like this? If I were you, I'd hide and not dare to see anyone!"
