Chapter 377 Meeting Olivia's Parents

Chapter 377 Meeting Olivia's Parents

After dialing Victoria's number, someone picked up quickly.

"Olivia, are you busy?" Victoria's tone was as gentle and caring as always.

"No..." Olivia hesitated for two seconds, then took the initiative to ask, "Mom, are you and Dad coming to Harmony City because you found out about what happened to me?"

Victoria didn't deny it. She sighed and said, "We just found out. Something this serious happened, and you didn't even tell us. Olivia, don't be scared. We are coming to be with you right away. We believe you did nothing wrong!"

Hearing Victoria's care and support, Olivia felt warmth in her heart, but she still tried to reassure her, saying, "I'm actually fine. The research institute will investigate and clear things up. In a few days, I'll go back to work. You and Dad don't need to go through all this trouble. Getting from Emerald City to Harmony City requires a flight. The round trip will just tire you both out."

But Victoria said, "What's tiring about it? We were planning to visit you and Bianca soon anyway. Since you both went to Harmony City, we haven't been to see you yet. Now is the perfect time. Besides, we already booked our tickets. The flight leaves in two hours, and we'll arrive at seven tonight. Wait for us!"

Hearing her mother's words, Olivia found it somewhat amusing, "You two are really fast, aren't you?"

Her situation had only happened a few hours ago!

However, she really hadn't seen her parents in a while and did miss them quite a bit.

Moreover, she had never told them about her relationship with Andrew.

Perhaps she could take this opportunity to test out their opinion.

So Olivia didn't try to stop them anymore, just carefully reminded them, "Then you be careful. I'll pick you up tonight."

"Okay, I won't talk anymore. I'm still packing." Victoria chatted with her daughter for a bit more with a smile, then hung up.

After putting away her phone, Olivia prepared to return to her office.

But unexpectedly, as soon as she turned around, she bumped into a broad chest.

She was startled and instinctively leaned backward.

"Be careful." Andrew reached out to gently support her waist, then asked in a low voice, "Who are you picking up at the airport tonight?"

Seeing it was him, Olivia's startled heart calmed down again.

She looked at him in surprise and asked, "You're done with work?"

"Yeah." Andrew nodded and said with concern, "I saw you rush out in a hurry and thought something happened."

Olivia felt a bit embarrassed and had to tell him honestly, "It's nothing really. My mom just sent me a message saying they're arriving in Harmony City tonight."

After saying that, she couldn't help complaining about Rodolfo, "It must be Mr. McCoy who let it slip in front of them!"

Andrew rarely saw her complain, so he couldn't help but chuckle, "I see. Your parents are probably worried you'll overthink things. Later when I'm done, I'll go with you to pick them up."

"Ah..."

Olivia hadn't thought about this and was stunned when Andrew brought it up.

Then her expression became somewhat hesitant, "Actually, you don't need to. I can pick them up myself."

"Hmm?" Andrew looked down at her, his eyes carrying a hint of amusement, "You seem like you don't want me to go?"

Hearing this, Olivia immediately shook her head to explain. "No, I never thought that."

Although her parents had met him before in Emerald City.

But that time was to thank him for treating Bianca. In her parents' eyes, his identity was Bianca's psychologist.

Now, they were in a relationship.

If she went to see her parents with him, Olivia inexplicably felt flustered.

She was worried Andrew wasn't prepared.

Andrew seemed to guess her thoughts. He said calmly, "After all, I'm local here. If your parents come and I don't care, that wouldn't make sense. Just give me a chance to make a good impression, so your parents will like me more, okay?"

He lowered his head, his forehead intimately touching hers.

Olivia couldn't help but laugh and said, "You don't need to make an impression. They already like you a lot! Back in Emerald City, weren't they always praising you?"

Andrew also said, "Back then, I was Bianca's psychologist. Now I'm your boyfriend. They might not really be satisfied with me."

Olivia shook her head and told him, "My parents never judge someone by their external conditions when they like them. They just look at character. Besides, you're so good, there's nothing to criticize. What reason would they have not to like you?"

And the facts were just as Olivia thought.

That evening, after picking up Bianca, they went straight to the airport.

Vaughn and Victoria's flight landed on time.

When they came out, they immediately saw Olivia and Bianca, as well as Andrew standing beside them with his distinguished presence.

Although the couple was a bit surprised, they were more welcoming.

Victoria even took the initiative to greet him, "Mr. Hamilton, why did you come too? For just picking us up, how could we make you come all this way?"

Then she looked at Olivia with mock reproach, "You're being too inconsiderate. Mr. Hamilton already takes such good care of you in Harmony City. How can you trouble him with something like this?"

Before Olivia could answer.

Andrew had already stepped forward, taking their luggage and responding composedly, "It's no trouble. Since you're visiting, as a younger person, I should naturally come pick you up myself."

Seeing this, Vaughn quickly tried to take the luggage back, "You're too kind. I can handle the luggage myself..."

Andrew didn't let him, pushing the luggage ahead and leading the way while replying, "It's fine."

Andrew's driver also had impeccable timing, immediately coming over to help load the luggage into the car.

Bianca held Olivia's hand and said in a sweet childlike voice, "Grandpa and Grandma, we're all family. No need to be so formal!"

The couple didn't think much of Bianca's words, just smiled and hugged Bianca, "Oh my, Bianca, you've grown so much taller. Did you miss us?"

Bianca nodded and said happily, "Yes!"

Andrew heard their conversation and turned to Bianca, "Bianca, do you want to ride in the same car with Grandpa and Grandma?"

Bianca nodded obediently and said, "Okay!"

Olivia also said to her parents, "Mom, Dad, it's getting late. Let's take you to dinner first. We've booked a restaurant. After we eat, you can go back and rest. Is that okay?"

"Sure, we'll leave it to you to arrange."

The couple had no objections. Soon, everyone got into their respective cars and headed to the restaurant.

Forty minutes later, in the restaurant's private room, all the dishes had been served.

Andrew was usually quite aloof.

But tonight, he actively attended to Vaughn and Victoria, "Don't be shy, eat more. This place serves authentic Harmony City cuisine."

Vaughn's smile never faded, and he kept urging Andrew, "You eat too. Olivia's development in Harmony City wouldn't be possible without your help. Really, we should be thanking you for taking care of Olivia and Bianca."

Victoria also said with a smile, "That's right. When she wanted to come here, I was worried for a while. Now it seems my worries were unnecessary. Bianca has recovered so well, and it's really thanks to you. Bianca even sees you as her father. You've worked so hard."

Hearing the last part, Olivia felt inexplicably guilty.

Andrew replied with a light laugh, "It's nothing. It's my honor. Bianca is very cute. I really like her."

Elders always love hearing their children praised, and Andrew's words made them both especially happy.

The couple clearly hadn't noticed anything unusual.

Victoria kept putting food on Andrew's plate, saying, "You eat more too."

"Okay." Andrew didn't stand on ceremony with them either.

Being too polite would seem distant.

Midway through the meal, Bianca said she wanted fish.

Vaughn was still deboning the fish for Bianca when Andrew had already removed the bones for both Olivia and Bianca.

Without them asking, he also served them soup, taking care of them as they ate.

He was as attentive as if he were the child's biological father.

When Olivia accidentally splashed some soup on her clothes, he even took out a wet wipe to help her clean it.

It was at this moment that Olivia's parents finally sensed something was off.

They exchanged glances, both looking a bit confused, then as if realizing something, their expressions changed slightly.

Although they tried hard to control their expressions, their eyes still couldn't help showing some bewilderment.

Olivia felt extremely guilty.

She also keenly noticed that the smiles on her parents' faces were becoming forced.

Between their brows, a hint of worry appeared.

Her heart immediately tightened.

Although her parents did like Andrew.

But their reaction to the change in her relationship with him didn't seem as positive as she'd expected.

Thinking of this, Olivia's heart sank.

Andrew also noticed the undercurrent at the table.

He seemed to have anticipated this and didn't rush to explain. Instead, he calmly squeezed Olivia's hand under the table.

The man's palm was very warm, and Olivia's anxious mood immediately calmed down.

The only one eating carefree at the table was Bianca.

After dinner ended, Andrew drove them home.

Before leaving, he said to Vaughn and Victoria, "You must be tired today. Get some good rest first. I'll find time to visit again later."

The couple was still feeling confused.

But they couldn't show a cold face to Andrew, who had helped them so much.

Victoria replied in a still-gentle tone, "Okay, drive safely."

"Mm." Andrew nodded, then signaled for his bodyguard to bring the luggage inside.

Then without lingering, he left quickly.

After he left, Olivia led her parents into the house.

Once inside, when they turned to get their luggage, they discovered that when Andrew's people brought in the luggage earlier, they had also brought many expensive gifts.

Olivia saw them too.

She was equally surprised.

She didn't know when he had prepared them.

Vaughn and Victoria quickly looked away, acting as if nothing had happened, and called Yara over to take Bianca for a bath.

Soon, only Olivia and her parents were left in the living room.

Her mood involuntarily became tense.

Vaughn sighed and took the initiative to speak, "Olivia, sit down and let's talk."
