Chapter 338 Loved by Everyone
The transition was a bit awkward.
After hearing this, Finnegan didn't look pleased at all.
Everyone could see that his face had darkened.
He had obviously heard about Andrew taking his daughter to meet clients.
Making such a public display, as if afraid no one would know.
Finnegan felt Andrew was doing it on purpose.
Originally, he didn't want to bring up these matters at this time, so he used going out for some fresh air as an excuse to come check out Anna's welcome party.
Jessica hadn't expected Aurelia to suddenly bring this up, and couldn't help but give her a long look.
Then she spoke to Finnegan, "Dad, come look at this. These are all the gifts you've given Anna from when she was one year old until now.
I had someone make replicas and turn them into models. The order and placement are correct, right?"
This change of topic shifted Finnegan's attention to Anna.
Most of Finnegan's displeasure faded, and Jessica soon led him to look at the models.
Aurelia stood there, her hands clenched into fists, feeling very unwilling.
She hadn't expected Finnegan to react so calmly to this matter.
After all, that was someone else's daughter.
Was he just going to let some illegitimate child come and muddy the Hamilton family bloodline?
Aurelia was furious inside.
But she also knew she couldn't show her emotions too obviously.
So she could only force herself to hold back for now and look for another chance to bring it up later.
But after that, Jessica seemed to see right through her thoughts and didn't give her another opportunity to annoy Finnegan.
Later in the evening, after confirming everything was fine with the party, Jessica planned to send Finnegan home.
Seeing that she'd made no progress all day, Aurelia felt frustrated again.
Was she just going to watch this opportunity slip away?
No, of course not!
She immediately volunteered, "Aunt Jessica, you've been busy all day and must be tired. How about I take Mr. Hamilton home?"
That way, she could bring up Olivia and her daughter again.
However, no matter how loudly Aurelia's calculations rattled in her head, Jessica wouldn't agree.
She refused in a tone that left no room for argument, "Thank you for the kind offer. But tonight my dad is staying at our place to wait for Anna to come back, so we won't trouble you.
He's rarely this happy, and he'll probably be too excited to sleep tonight, so someone needs to watch over him."
Hearing this, Aurelia couldn't say much more and could only force a smile. "I see. Then I'll head back first."
Jessica nodded gracefully, "Yes, drive safely."
Aurelia left feeling dissatisfied.
After watching her get in the car and leave, Jessica couldn't help but shake her head.
Of course everyone in the Hamilton family knew about Aurelia's feelings for Andrew, and they'd never tried to stop her from pursuing him.
If she really had what it took to win his affection, they'd be happy to congratulate her.
But she really shouldn't be playing these little games and trying to use Finnegan.
If she didn't realize that playing little games wouldn't work with the Hamilton family, she would probably never win Andrew's heart.
Jessica soon took Finnegan home.
The next morning, after Andrew had breakfast with Olivia and Bianca, he prepared to leave.
Before going, he lingered with Olivia for a bit and told her, "I might not make it over tonight, so don't wait up for me."
"Okay."
Olivia had known for days that he was picking up Anna today.
And that he'd be attending Anna's welcome party in the evening.
So she nodded and reminded him, "Don't drink too much, remember to take the medicine I gave you, and contact me if anything comes up."
Andrew nodded, then asked, "Do you have any plans today?"
Olivia told him honestly, "Daniel is bringing his team over today. We've arranged to have dinner together tonight."
Andrew raised an eyebrow, seeming to think about something.
After a couple seconds, he asked, "Have you booked a restaurant for dinner yet?"
Olivia shook her head, "Not yet. I was planning to book one later."
Andrew said gently, "I'll have David book it for you directly. When the time comes, just take everyone there.
David knows the restaurant environments and food in Harmony City better than you do."
Hearing this, Olivia thought it made sense.
She replied with a light laugh, "Okay, that'll save me from my indecisiveness. Thanks to David."
"Alright, it's getting late. I need to go. Call me if anything comes up."
"Okay." After seeing him out, Olivia also got ready to leave.
In the morning, Andrew went to the company for a meeting, arranged the work, and then headed straight to the airport to pick up Anna.
When he and David arrived, Finnegan and Anna's parents were already there.
But unexpectedly, there was also a familiar face—Aurelia.
When he saw her, Andrew's handsome brows furrowed unconsciously.
But he quickly regained his composure.
He walked calmly to the elders, "Grandpa, Uncle, Aunt."
Jessica looked pleased to see Andrew appear.
She said with a smile, "Andrew, you're so busy yet you made this special trip. It's because you spoil her that Anna is getting more and more willful."
Facing his family, Andrew's tone also softened, "I wanted to come myself. I haven't seen Anna in a long time. She's very well-behaved."
Hearing this, Finnegan snorted twice from the side and said sarcastically, "I thought you'd forgotten about Anna."
Andrew glanced at him calmly, "Grandpa, when have I ever forgotten? Your memory is getting worse, but mine isn't!"
"You brat!" Finnegan was quite irritated by this remark.
Aurelia quickly stepped in to smooth things over, "Mr. Finnegan Hamilton, Andrew is just joking with you."
Andrew's uncle—Patrick Hamilton—just laughed at the scene.
He patted Andrew's broad shoulder, "Why do you still enjoy bickering with your grandpa?"
David chimed in, "Mr. Andrew Hamilton said teasing him keeps Mr. Finnegan Hamilton's mind sharp, so he won't get dementia later."
At this, Finnegan nearly jumped in anger, "Who's got dementia? My mind is perfectly fine!"
Just as he was protesting, an enthusiastic voice came from the arrival gate, "Grandpa! Andrew! Mom, Dad!"
As the voice fell, a slender figure ran toward them like a bird returning to the forest, first throwing her arms around Finnegan.
Due to the momentum, Finnegan stumbled back two steps.
Though startled, he still laughed happily, "Hey, slow down, slow down. What if you fall?"
Patrick and Jessica also watched them nervously.
Anna smiled brightly, radiant as a little sun, "I won't! I run very steadily!"
Jessica scolded fondly, "You silly girl, you're all grown up now. Why are you still so reckless?"
Anna released Finnegan with a grin and turned to hug her parents, acting cute in their arms, "It's because I'm so happy to see you all. Besides, with you all spoiling me, why do I need to be proper?"
The two were helpless but their expressions were full of affection.
After hugging them, Anna excitedly went over to hug Andrew, "You busy bee actually came to pick me up! I'm not dreaming, am I?"
Andrew was indulgent and gentle, hugging her back and ruffling her hair, "No, I made special time to pick you up. Run slower next time, don't you know your own situation?
Grandpa is old; he can't take your tackles. What if he gets hurt?"
Hearing this, Finnegan's face showed complete displeasure, "Who's old? I've been exercising lately, and I'm in great shape!"
