Chapter 305 Andrew, Not Someone She Can Dream Of
At the thought of this possibility, Aurelia's face looked even worse.
After hearing her out, Rachel pretty much understood what was going on.
She naturally took Aurelia's side.
How could someone of Andrew's status possibly like a divorced woman?
In their social circle, everyone believed that Andrew's status was too high.
Even if he did have someone he cared about one day, it would have to be someone who matched the Hamilton family's status.
How could someone like Olivia, divorced with a child, be worthy?
Rachel comforted Aurelia, saying, "Aurelia, don't overthink it. Mr. Hamilton's rejection of the marriage was probably just using that woman as an excuse.
You know his personality - he's not someone who can be pushed around, especially when it comes to major life decisions.
As for having feelings for that woman..."
Rachel looked Olivia over several more times, really feeling that she wasn't anything special.
She was good-looking, sure, but there were plenty more beautiful than her.
Taking everything into account, she couldn't compare to anyone in Harmony City.
And out of some inexplicable jealousy, Rachel started to dislike Olivia too.
Aurelia could have some connection with Andrew because of their families' ties.
But some wealthy heiresses in Harmony City didn't have that connection, so even though they envied Aurelia's closeness to the Hamilton family, there was nothing they could do.
Yet this divorced woman somehow got involved with Andrew.
Rachel inexplicably felt like a beautiful jade she had admired from afar for so long had been tainted.
She became even more determined to make Olivia leave in embarrassment.
So Rachel moved closer to Aurelia and said in a low voice, "Do you want to make her recognize her place? Make her clearly understand that our circle isn't for someone like her to be part of?
And that someone like Mr. Hamilton isn't for her to dream about?"
Hearing this, Aurelia looked at her with interest and asked, "You have a plan?"
Rachel nodded, smiling with clear ill intent.
Olivia had no idea a scheme was coming her way.
At the moment, she was still chatting with Evelyn, "How's it going? Going smoothly?"
Evelyn nodded and said happily, "Jade is an heiress of the Marie family, one of Harmony City's top ten wealthy families. She has great connections, and everyone's willing to give her face. It's going pretty smoothly."
"That's good." Olivia nodded, also happy for Evelyn.
Everything going smoothly would really help Evelyn's work in Harmony City later.
Taking over the business would be much easier too.
As they were talking, Jade in the distance waved at Evelyn again.
Evelyn immediately said to Olivia, "Jade's calling me, I'll head over first."
Olivia smiled and said, "Okay, go ahead, don't worry about me. I'll be fine on my own."
Evelyn felt a bit apologetic. She'd asked Olivia to come along but kept leaving her alone here.
She said to Olivia, "I'll finish up as quickly as I can, and we'll leave early. I won't make you wait too long!"
"Okay." Olivia actually didn't mind. After Evelyn left, she found a corner to stay in.
But after just a few minutes, a shadow suddenly appeared in front of her.
Olivia looked up to find a man in a suit who seemed rather cynical.
His appearance was passable, but Olivia could see a cunning look on his face.
Anyone with that kind of face - could they be a good person?
Olivia looked at him calmly, waiting for him to speak first.
Seeing her face, his eyes lit up, and with an eager expression, he greeted her, "Ms. Smith, hello."
Olivia frowned slightly and asked, "Who are you?"
Seeing that she replied him, the man smiled and said, "I'm Saul Pena.
You might not know me, but I've heard of you for a while.
I know you're Michael's ex-wife from the Johnson Group in Emerald City, right?
You've been in the news a few times. Seeing you in person is better than your reputation - Ms. Smith, you look much better than in the photos."
After listening, Olivia asked coldly, "Mr. Pena, can I help you with something?"
She didn't know much about the wealthy families in Harmony City, so even though he'd introduced himself, she didn't recognize him.
But everything about this person - the way he looked at her and his tone - made her uncomfortable.
Facing her cold expression, Saul didn't seem bothered.
He said with a grin, "Nothing much, just wanted to invite you for some drinks. It's rare for you to visit Harmony City, and sitting alone in this corner is so boring.
For a beautiful woman like you to be unappreciated and unaccompanied is quite a waste."
Olivia caught the flirtation in his tone, and her expression grew even colder.
But not knowing his background and worried about unnecessary trouble, she said, "Mr. Pena, I came with my friend tonight. Once she's done, we'll be leaving. I'll pass on the drinks."
Saul acted as if he couldn't hear her polite refusal and said, "Oh? Your friend? Where is she? You could call her over to meet too."
He said with a smile, "Ms. Smith, you're probably new to Harmony City's high society, right? I bet you don't know many people here. If I introduce you around, it could save you a lot of trouble."
As he said this, Saul moved two steps closer.
Olivia frowned and stepped back to keep her distance, saying, "Thank you, but that's really not necessary."
Seeing her cool expression and her attitude of wanting to keep distance, Saul said impatiently, "Ms. Smith, while aloof beauties playing hard to get can be attractive, if you're too standoffish, no one will like you.
I prefer women who are more enthusiastic. I'm already giving you an opportunity - if you don't take it, you won't get another chance!"
From the start, Saul hadn't tried to hide his intentions.
And his words carried an air of self-importance.
As if it were Olivia's honor that he was interested in her.
At this point, Olivia's expression darkened, and she asked with displeasure, "What are you trying to say?"
Saul snorted and said, "Stop pretending, Olivia. You just got kicked out of the Johnson family and made such a scene at the Johnson Group's engagement party. The Johnson family must not have been able to tolerate you, which is why you ran from Emerald City to Harmony City, right?
Since you've found a way to get into tonight's event, stop pretending.
I know you're here looking for a good sugar daddy.
If that's the case, why act so reserved?"
Hearing this, Olivia just found it absurd.
From the moment she arrived until now, she'd been quietly staying in a corner. When had she given him the mistaken impression that she was here looking for a sugar daddy?
Moreover, this person had been offensive from the start, and the more Olivia tolerated it, the more excessive he became.
Olivia wasn't someone who let others bully her.
She said coldly, "Mr. Pena, please show some respect. I've told you, I'm here tonight accompanying a friend, not for what you're suggesting.
If there's nothing else, please leave and stop bothering me."
With that, Olivia prepared to walk away from this person.
Unexpectedly, Saul quickly stepped forward, blocking Olivia's path.
He said with displeasure, "Stop! Did I say you could leave?"
Olivia frowned at him.
Saul sneered, "Ms. Smith, it's your good fortune that I'm interested in you. You don't really think that as a castoff woman nobody wants, you're in demand at this kind of place, do you?
Look around - do you see anyone giving you a second glance?
If I'm in a good mood, I might give you some benefits, let you be my mistress, give you money to spend, let you see what Harmony City's high society is like.
Otherwise, believe me, I can have you thrown out right now. I could even make it so you can't stay in Harmony City at all."
These words carried an obvious threat.
Listening to his insulting words, Olivia's expression grew increasingly unpleasant.
And with this type of person, the more she explained, the more he'd think she was playing hard to get.
Just as she was about to speak, a glass of wine was suddenly splashed in Saul's face.
Before Olivia could react, Evelyn's sharp voice rang out. "How can there still be such shameless people these days!"
She walked up to them, put down the glass, and said without any hint of apology, "Sorry about that, my hand slipped. I'm sure you don't mind, right?"
Saul wiped his face, his expression furious. "You're asking for it! How dare you throw wine at me?"
Evelyn wasn't afraid of this type of person at all.
She shot back boldly, "So what if I threw wine at you? You shameless jerk, I'm just protecting the public environment, keeping you from opening your mouth and disgusting everyone else around here!"
Saul finally realized that Evelyn was standing up for Olivia.
He said through gritted teeth, "So you're with this woman?!"
Evelyn stood in front of Olivia without hesitation, her protective attitude clear.
She'd seen from afar that this person was bothering Olivia.
Since he was a man, she'd kept an extra eye on the situation, and then saw Olivia's expression getting worse and worse.
Evelyn couldn't just stand by anymore and immediately came over to see what was going on.
But she hadn't expected that as soon as she got close, she'd hear him saying such awful things.
Evelyn was immediately furious.
The person she'd brought was being bullied like this!
Evelyn didn't care about his status - if he dared to insult people like this, she wouldn't hesitate to retaliate!
So she'd made her move even before Olivia could.
The commotion they were making wasn't small.
After all, both of them were raising their voices, making it hard for people at the event not to hear.
Immediately, everyone looked their way.
