Chapter 280 Like, Uncontrollable
Evelyn finally woke up and walked out of her room yawning.
Hearing footsteps, Olivia put away her phone and turned around, looking at her with an ambiguous smile.
Evelyn felt uncomfortable under her gaze and couldn't help asking, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Olivia asked, "Did you sleep well?"
"Yes, I did." Evelyn nodded honestly, then looked around and asked, "Where is everyone?"
Olivia told her, "They all went back to Harmony City."
"What?" Evelyn was stunned. "They just left like that? Mr. Hamilton left too?"
Olivia nodded, "Yes!?"
Seeing her reaction, Evelyn felt anxious for her. "Wait, he came all the way to Emerald City, and you two didn't talk about what's going on between you?"
She had thought that this time, things between them could be cleared up.
Evelyn had seen this morning that Andrew was still as affectionate toward Bianca as ever, and the atmosphere between him and Olivia was no different from before.
She had thought that even if these two didn't get together right away, at least their relationship should have gotten closer.
But he just left like that?
Olivia hesitated for a few seconds before saying, "Well, we didn't completely avoid talking..."
Evelyn stared at her, waiting for her to continue.
Olivia had no choice but to tell Evelyn about her conversation with Andrew, then asked for her opinion, "What do you think he meant by that?"
Evelyn's expression was a bit excited. She clapped her hands and said, "The meaning is pretty obvious! My feeling before was right - Mr. Hamilton definitely has feelings for you!"
Olivia felt her heart skip a beat, but she still didn't quite dare to believe it. "Really?"
Evelyn nodded, "Isn't it obvious? You know what he's like - cold personality, like an unreachable flower on a snowy mountain peak that others can't climb, but he hugged you on his own initiative!
That's already enough to explain something. Why are you still hesitating? Have you ever seen him hug anyone else on his own?
And that hypothetical situation at the end - I think it was real too. From what I know of him, he's not the type to joke like that, so he must have been trying to tell you something."
Getting to this point, Evelyn's mood brightened up. She sighed, "If he really gets you to Harmony City, I completely approve of this marriage!"
Olivia found it amusing, "It's just a hypothetical situation, it's not like I'm really going.
A national-level research institute - how easy do you think it is to get in?"
Evelyn thought about it and agreed, so she stopped teasing her.
Olivia also put these thoughts aside for now and asked Evelyn instead, "Let's talk about you going to Harmony City first. Is the date really set for the end of the month?"
"Yeah." When it came to her own situation, Evelyn's mood wasn't so happy. She said, "Unless something unexpected happens, it'll be the end of the month. If I don't go, Alfonso will definitely come back and drag me there!"
Olivia was amused by this, but she also knew that when Alfonso got serious, he really wasn't joking. So she patted Evelyn's shoulder and said, "Then just go obediently."
Evelyn pouted again.
Olivia comforted her, "Don't be unhappy. Don't you still have more than half a month? You can spend more time with us during this period."
"You're right!"
This comfort did work a little.
Evelyn perked up again and immediately decided, "For the next few days, I'm going to stay at your place every day and sleep here too!"
"Okay, okay, whatever you say." Olivia naturally had no objection.
After Andrew went back, Olivia's life didn't change much.
She resumed her usual busy schedule, spending most of her time at the research institute.
As for the contact between them.
Olivia no longer deliberately avoided or distanced herself like before.
They messaged each other every day, almost without interruption.
Andrew wasn't idle after returning to Harmony City either, but every evening, he would call Olivia and briefly tell her about his situation in Harmony City.
Through these brief exchanges, Olivia finally learned the reason why Andrew had rushed back to Harmony City.
Although Andrew looked down on the Robinson family.
The Robinson Group still had his mother's shares.
Before, Andrew didn't care about these things.
But someone had the nerve to covet those shares and even tried to use improper means to transfer them.
Although Andrew hadn't been in contact with the Robinson family for years and didn't care about those shares.
But these were left by his mother - how could he tolerate it?
Not to mention, his biological father might be behind this.
Although Andrew didn't say much, Olivia still sensed his situation in that wealthy family.
His father seemed to look down on him, only treating his second wife and their son well.
But thinking about it, that made sense.
If he really cared about Andrew, he wouldn't have cut ties with him and made him take his mother's surname.
Thinking about things related to Andrew, Olivia felt worried for him.
But at the same time, Olivia also noticed that he seemed to be starting to share his life with her.
Whether it was work or daily life, he let her know and let her be part of it.
This was something she had never been able to access before.
Before he left, he told her not to avoid him anymore, so they stayed in touch every day.
They messaged when they had time during the day, and there was always a phone call at night.
Olivia had originally tried to convince herself not to overthink it.
But now, Olivia's heart, which she had worked so hard to firm up, was starting to waver again.
He had given her a chance to get close to him.
Olivia wanted to control her feelings, but she couldn't help being drawn closer step by step.
When you like someone, you simply can't hold it back.
But Olivia never forgot that he was still engaged.
He would eventually belong to someone else.
These two emotions tortured her repeatedly, so much so that in the following days, Olivia started having insomnia.
On Monday morning, Daniel came to the research institute to see her. Seeing her haggard expression, he couldn't help asking with concern, "Why do you look so bad? Didn't sleep well last night? Or have you run into some problem recently? Is the research not going well?"
He asked several questions in a row, but didn't guess right.
Olivia didn't plan to explain in detail.
Because this was about her and Andrew.
But Daniel meant well, so Olivia went along with it, "It's not a big problem, just that we're missing an ingredient for the research material."
This was indeed something that had been bothering her recently.
This ingredient was also a type of flowering plant, but because it was quite precious and they needed quite a lot of it, Olivia hadn't been able to solve it for a while.
After Daniel understood, he said, "I thought it was something serious. Leave it to me, I'll ask my mom..."
Isabella loved flowers and had professional flower arranging skills.
Charles doted on his wife, so he specially bought her a large botanical garden with all kinds of precious flower varieties.
Olivia's problem wasn't a problem for him at all.
Daniel made a phone call and soon told Olivia, "It's settled!"
Olivia asked in confusion, "That fast? But why ask your mom to solve it?"
As far as she knew, Daniel's mother usually didn't get involved in company matters.
Daniel smiled and said, "I told you last time, my mom is a flower arranging enthusiast and the president of the Flower Arranging and Gardening Association.
Besides her workplace where she often deals with flowers, my dad specially bought her a botanical garden with all kinds of flowers, so asking her is definitely the right choice!"
Hearing this answer, Olivia smiled too, "Then I'll have to trouble her."
"It's nothing. Come on, I'll take you there now to have a look."
"Okay!" Olivia had nothing else to do at the moment, so she went with Daniel to the flower arranging association.
The place was even more elegant and refined than she had expected.
Daniel introduced it to her, saying, "Those society ladies from Emerald City's upper class often come here to learn flower arranging in their spare time. The teachers inside have all won awards."
"I see." Olivia nodded, her gaze drawn to the flowers on the shelf beside them.
You could tell that those who could arrange flowers here were all professionals.
Compared to them, Daniel's skills before really deserved to be criticized.
Thinking of this, Olivia couldn't help but smile.
As they walked and chatted, they soon arrived at Isabella's flower arranging room.
As soon as Isabella saw them, she immediately came over with a smile, warmly greeting Olivia, "When Daniel called just now, I've been waiting for you. Haven't seen you for a while, Olivia, you've gotten even prettier."
Her tone was full of affection for Olivia. "The flowers you need - he told me about them on the phone just now. I had someone find them. I just don't know if they meet your requirements. Let me take you to see them first."
"Thank you, Mrs. Wilson. I appreciate it."
Isabella was decisive in her actions and quickly took Olivia on a tour.
Olivia also confirmed that it was exactly what she was looking for.
After telling Isabella, Isabella immediately instructed someone to pick them.
After solving Olivia's problem, it was still early, so she brought Olivia back to the flower arranging room, made her coffee, and chatted with her like a good friend.
"Has Olivia studied flower arranging before?" Isabella asked.
Olivia shook her head, "No."
In the past, besides studying medicine, after marriage it was all about family and children - she had no time for these things at all.
Isabella smiled and asked her, "Then do you want to learn? I can teach you?"
Olivia liked flowers and also enjoyed the atmosphere of flower arranging. Hearing Isabella's suggestion, she naturally agreed happily, "Sure, but won't this take up your time?"
"Not at all. It'll take time for them to pick those flowers for you anyway, and we'd just be sitting around idle." Isabella was enthusiastic and started explaining some flower arranging basics to Olivia.
Real flower arranging requires high artistic appreciation.
As a beginner, Olivia knew nothing about it.
But she was quick to learn and had good taste. After some instruction, she arranged the flowers in front of her quite well.
Isabella's eyes lit up watching her, "Not bad, not bad, better than Daniel's arrangements."
Speaking of Daniel, Isabella couldn't help complaining, "You don't know how clumsy he is. He's learned several times, but his skills are still terrible. I'm too embarrassed to say he was taught by me."
Olivia couldn't help but smile.
Daniel looked at Isabella somewhat speechlessly, "Do you have to put me down like that? I studied seriously, okay?"
Isabella pursed her lips, "Talent is something that hard work can't make up for."
Daniel was speechless.
Olivia was having a hard time holding back her laughter.
At that moment, several footsteps came from outside.
She looked up and saw several society ladies coming in.
Seeing Daniel and Olivia, they smiled and said, "Daniel is here too?"
"This young lady looks unfamiliar."
The ladies smiled and said, "Is she Daniel's future wife? This is the first time I've seen him bring a girl here."
