Chapter 253 The Problem
Finally, it stopped.
Olivia's breathing hadn't calmed down yet. After being released, she felt her legs were weak.
Her head was spinning.
That kiss just now was so intense that it almost sucked all the air out of her lungs.
Now everything had stopped, but she could still feel the man's scent all over her body.
Inside and out, her lips and tongue were numb.
This realization made Olivia's entire face turn red, as if she was about to be steamed.
She raised her hand and gently wiped the corner of her eye, only to discover that she had been tormented to the point of producing some involuntary tears.
This was crazy!
At this moment, David had already returned. Seeing the door closed, he thought something had happened and anxiously knocked on the door.
"Dr. Garcia, what happened? Are you guys okay?"
Olivia replied in a trembling voice, "It's fine, I just accidentally bumped into something..."
She patted her somewhat flushed cheeks, and only after several seconds did she shakily get up to open the door for him.
David outside the door - his pupils practically had an earthquake the moment he saw her.
"Dr. Garcia, are you alright?" He was truly frightened by the scene before him.
He didn't know what had happened in the few minutes he was away.
Olivia's hair was messy, her collar was crooked, looking like it had been pulled.
And her lips were incredibly red.
They even looked a bit swollen.
No matter how he looked at it, she looked like someone who had been bullied.
David looked at Olivia, then at Andrew lying unconscious on the floor, his mind felt like it had been struck by lightning.
He finally realized what was wrong with Andrew!
That situation just now looked exactly like someone who had been drugged!
Olivia spoke up then, "I'm fine. Let's get him inside first. If he keeps lying on the floor, he'll catch a cold."
"Okay, okay." David didn't dare ask more questions. He quickly averted his eyes and went forward to help carry Andrew to the sofa in the room.
Olivia followed out and asked David, "Did Mr. Hamilton go out tonight? Did he eat anything he shouldn't have?"
"Huh?" David was stunned for a moment, then immediately shook his head, "No, he was home all evening, didn't go out."
"Then how could this happen?" Olivia frowned, somewhat confused.
David was also bewildered.
He quickly recalled and told Olivia, "Today, after falling into the water, Mr. Hamilton went back to his room to shower. After coming out, he had me help him apply medicine and bandage the wound.
Soon after, he had dinner, then went to his study. The whole time he only drank a cup of tea, nothing else. You have to believe me!"
He was afraid Olivia would misunderstand, so he explained very anxiously.
Olivia frowned tightly, confirming that what David said was fine.
But her instinct told her that something must have gone wrong in some step.
David was also very panicked.
He hadn't expected that Andrew could have this kind of incident while in the villa.
After tonight, he felt they were all done for, inside and out.
Especially since Andrew had lost control tonight and bullied Olivia under these circumstances.
This definitely wouldn't be a situation Andrew would want!
Just as David was full of fear, Olivia had already calmly given him instructions.
"First, help Mr. Hamilton change into clean clothes, then put him on the bed. I'll give him a detailed examination later, and maybe then I'll know what's going on."
David hurriedly responded, "Okay!"
His movements were quick.
In just a few minutes, he had changed Andrew into a loose set of pajamas, then helped him cleanly onto the bed before calling Olivia back in.
When Olivia entered again, she noticed that even unconscious, Andrew's brows were tightly furrowed.
She didn't say much and directly examined him.
Andrew's heartbeat was very fast, indicating that the earlier situation hadn't been relieved - he had just knocked himself out.
Olivia, considering he still had injuries, prepared to treat his wounds first to avoid actual infection and inflammation.
But it was fine until she looked - when she did, she got a shock.
"How did this wound get so red and swollen?"
Moreover, based on her years of experience as a doctor, Olivia was certain this didn't look like simple inflammation.
It looked more like it had been irritated by something, with redness spreading all around.
She remembered Andrew saying tonight that David's rough technique when applying medicine had made the wound very painful.
She reacted quickly, looking at David seriously and asking, "Did you... use the medicine I gave you tonight?"
David was stunned for a moment, then nodded and immediately replied, "Yes, it was the medicine you gave."
"Are you sure?" Olivia was very doubtful.
Being questioned like this, David himself became somewhat uncertain.
"Dr. Garcia, wait a moment, let me check."
David hurried to bring over the household medicine box. After checking through it, he told Olivia, "The medicine you gave me before, I've always kept on the top layer, it definitely can't be wrong..."
As he spoke, he opened the medicine box.
Olivia looked over and saw several bottles of medicine on top. She asked David, "Which bottle did you use?"
David pointed to the transparent bottle and said, "This one."
Olivia picked it up, opened it, and smelled it closely.
She was definitely clear about the medicine she prescribed.
But after smelling it, she found the scent was wrong. "This isn't the medicine I prescribed at all!"
David's face immediately turned fearful when he heard this. "What? This... what's going on?"
Olivia opened the next layer of the medicine box and saw the same glass bottle underneath.
However, the glass bottle below was a bit smaller.
After Olivia opened it and smelled it, this time the scent was right.
She frowned and asked David, "So, you mixed up the medicines?"
David's expression changed. "That shouldn't be possible. There were no mistakes the past few days. What's going on?"
He quickly called the butler and questioned him, "Besides me, who else has touched this medicine box at home?"
The butler was also frightened and quickly replied, "Yesterday when the maid was helping to organize the medicine box, she accidentally knocked it over, but she put the medicines back right away."
David felt like he was going to fall apart.
So the medicine really was mixed up?
Although these two glass bottles weren't the same size, the difference wasn't particularly obvious either.
At a glance, they could easily be mistaken. No one could have predicted this.
Olivia already knew where the problem was and immediately asked David, "What medicine is in this glass bottle?"
Facing Olivia's inquiry, David didn't dare hide anything and quickly replied, "This medicine was prescribed by a military doctor. It's for treating neurological headaches.
You know Mr. Hamilton's condition - he sometimes can't sleep well and used to need to take medicine frequently.
Later the situation got a bit better, and he only took it occasionally. After you made him the bracelet, he basically stopped taking this medicine."
After listening, Olivia just felt waves of pain in her head.
Although she didn't know the specific formula of this medicine, she suspected it might contain some nerve-calming medicinal components.
This medicinal property probably conflicted with the medicine she prescribed.
So after David reapplied the medicine, the properties of both medicines were activated, entered his bloodstream through the wound, and evolved into a slight aphrodisiac effect.
Moreover, because the wrong medicine was used, Andrew's wound was severely irritated.
In this situation, his nerves would inevitably remain continuously tense.
After a long time, it might have triggered other problems, which was why he was in so much pain.
Olivia glanced at David, not knowing what to say for a moment.
She didn't know that this look made David's hands and feet go cold.
"So... this whole thing was caused by me?"
Olivia nodded, silently confirming it.
David's expression lost all color.
It was over, he was done for!
Tomorrow morning when Andrew woke up, he might be finished!
Olivia couldn't worry about David's desperate mood anymore.
Now that she had found the problem, she naturally had to deal with it quickly.
She cleaned Andrew's wound again.
Even in his sleep, Andrew's muscles kept tensing up.
Obviously, the two medicinal properties were conflicting in his body, constantly tormenting him.
Olivia's movements were very careful, giving it her full attention, afraid of causing him even the slightest bit more pain.
After thoroughly cleaning the wound and reapplying medicine, she could clearly see that the pain on Andrew's face had lessened considerably.
Now Olivia could completely confirm that the situation was exactly as she had just said - it was caused by conflicting medications.
After she finished rebandaging the wound, she stood up and turned to instruct David, "Starting tomorrow, the frequency of applying medicine needs to increase.
The wound was finally getting better, but now after this irritation, it's serious again, so we must increase the dosage.
If there's nothing else, I'll go back and rest now."
After what happened in the bathroom, Olivia's mood was still in chaos.
She temporarily couldn't stay calm.
When David saw she was about to leave, he immediately panicked.
Andrew's pursuit wasn't making much progress to begin with. If his mistake ruined things between them, he would truly be guilty beyond redemption.
At this moment, he absolutely couldn't let Olivia leave!
David gritted his teeth and hurriedly blocked Olivia's path, taking the initiative to apologize, "Dr. Garcia, I'm sorry. Everything tonight was my fault. Please don't blame Mr. Hamilton for this, and don't take it out on him.
All of this was because I wasn't careful enough. You can hit me, scold me, even stab me with a knife, just don't distance yourself from Mr. Hamilton because of this.
You know what Mr. Hamilton is usually like.
When facing you, he's always been restrained and polite. He consciously keeps his distance from other girls and won't easily cross the line.
As for you, needless to say, he's even more cautious, values you, and respects you. He would never easily disrespect you.
If he did anything wrong tonight, please believe that it absolutely, absolutely wasn't his intention!
So please don't ignore him or refuse to see him because of this."
At this point, David was afraid Olivia wouldn't feel appeased, so his tone became even more anxious as he said, "If that's not enough, you can hit me on the head with this vase to vent your anger."
