Chapter 201 All Given to Him
Arthur said with a smile, "Of course, like I said, just transfer the money to my account."
Sophia clenched her fists. "Three hundred million dollars is too much. The most I can give you is fifty million!"
Sophia gritted her teeth and said, "Sixty million!"
Arthur still shook his head and didn't say a word, clearly still not satisfied.
Sophia was furious, but she didn't dare refuse to pay.
Finally, steeling herself, she said, "Eighty million, not a penny more!"
Seeing her repeated concessions, Arthur finally relented and said, "One hundred million dollars! I think the richest person in Emerald City can still afford this amount, right?"
"Are you kidding me?" Sophia was shocked.
She didn't expect this man to be so shameless.
Arthur laughed. "I'm not joking with you. Think about it - one hundred million dollars can buy you a lifetime free of trouble and secure your position as Mrs. Johnson. That's a pretty good deal. After all, the Johnson Group is in business, and the money you give can be earned back later. You're not losing out."
Sophia trembled with anger. "What good does this do you? Haven't you thought about Aiden? He's your son after all. Aren't you afraid he'll be affected by blackmailing me like this?"
Arthur laughed carelessly. "He's the son you raised. How close can he be to me? He's probably busy calling Michael 'dad' right now. Does he even remember me? Since we don't have that bond, I won't force it. One hundred million dollars, not a cent less. I'll give you time to think about it. If I don't get an answer by this time tomorrow, I'll play your videos and photos on loop at the city square in downtown Emerald City."
Sophia's face flushed red, but she had no way to deal with Arthur. Finally, she stormed out in anger.
Seeing her leave, Arthur didn't try to stop her. Having just finished this deal, he was in a great mood. He ordered a whole table of good food for himself and enjoyed a hearty meal.
Olivia had no idea what had happened there. After returning to her private room, she had dinner with Rodolfo.
By the time they finished eating, more than an hour had passed.
Simon went to get the car while Olivia helped Rodolfo and waited at the restaurant entrance.
By coincidence, Arthur had also finished his meal and was coming out of the restaurant.
When he saw Olivia, he recognized her immediately - she was Michael's ex-wife, the rival that Sophia saw as a thorn in her side.
Before coming to the country, when he was investigating Michael, he had seen her photos.
But he didn't expect that she would be even more stunning in person than in the photos.
No wonder Sophia was so anxious to return to the country.
A hint of interest appeared in Arthur's eyes.
When he first met Sophia, he thought she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
Now it seemed that wasn't quite true.
Olivia standing by the roadside, with her beautiful and graceful figure, had more charm than Sophia.
Especially her profile - delicate and beautiful, pure and otherworldly. The charisma she radiated made it impossible to look away.
Compared to Sophia's fierce and menacing face, Arthur's eyes showed some disdain.
He suddenly felt that Sophia was a bit vulgar!
Olivia vaguely sensed that someone was staring at her with an intense gaze.
After helping Rodolfo into the car, she looked back and her eyes met the man's interested stare.
Olivia frowned.
She didn't know him, and that strange look made her very uncomfortable.
Not wanting to cause trouble, she looked away, quickly got in the car, and headed straight back to the research institute.
On the other side, after leaving the restaurant, Sophia returned to Silverbrook Manor.
All the way back, she was thinking about how to get money from Michael.
She couldn't come up with that much money on her own.
She was so lost in thought that when she entered the house, she didn't notice anything unusual.
Until she looked up and saw Amelia.
Sophia was startled, but quickly put on a gentle and obedient smile. "Mrs. Johnson, when did you arrive? Why didn't you tell me?"
Ever since learning about Olivia's identity, Amelia had been very upset.
Thinking that all of this was connected to Sophia, she wanted to come over and warn Sophia to behave herself and stop causing trouble for the Johnson family.
But when she arrived, she found that Sophia wasn't home.
Amelia was even more dissatisfied with her. She stayed and waited for a long time, her patience nearly exhausted, before finally seeing Sophia return from outside.
She was no longer as friendly as before, but instead questioned her angrily, "Do I need to report to you when I come to my son's house? Where have you been?"
If it had been before, hearing Amelia say this, Sophia would definitely have been unhappy.
But now she felt guilty and didn't dare lose her temper. She quickly replied in a flustered manner, "I went out to clear my head."
"Hmph!" Amelia was very dissatisfied and said, "You still have the nerve to clear your head. I think you just want to go out and embarrass yourself again! Sophia, you've ruined the Johnson family's reputation built up over so many years! Since you've entered our family and don't even have a proper job, you should at least do what you're supposed to do and take care of Michael. But what do you do? Nothing - you leave everything to the servants. How did I ever think you were better than Olivia?"
Being compared to Olivia again made Sophia's expression turn sour. She responded, "It's not that I don't want to do it, it's that Michael feels sorry for me and won't let me."
This made things worse. When she said this, Amelia got even angrier. "He feels sorry for you, but don't you know to feel sorry for him? When Olivia was working, she could still make time to manage the household, take care of the children, and even take care of Michael's daily needs. What about you? Michael has been working so hard lately, his leg is still bothering him, and you're still causing trouble everywhere."
Sophia couldn't stand her constantly comparing her to Olivia.
If Olivia was so great, she didn't see Amelia treating Olivia well back then.
But she didn't dare say this. She was afraid that if she angered Amelia, she would be kicked out directly.
Now that Arthur had come to blackmail her, if she didn't behave well, she might not even have a last chance.
Sophia was very sensible and immediately admitted her mistake, saying, "I'm sorry, it is my fault. I've taken note of your advice. I will definitely take good care of Michael from now on."
Amelia looked at her meek appearance, then thought of Olivia - praised by everyone outside, confident and successful - and found Sophia even more displeasing.
She said, "Don't just talk about it - your actions need to match your words. And stop causing trouble outside. If there's a next time, you and your son can move out of the manor!"
After dropping this line, Amelia left in a huff.
Sophia stood there, her nails digging into her flesh, her face dark as a storm cloud.
That old woman Amelia - when the Brown family was doing well, she was all smiles with her and treated Aiden like a grandson.
How long had it been, and she had already turned her back on them!
Sophia's sense of crisis grew stronger.
Before, she had thought that after treating Michael's leg, he would accept her.
But that approach had failed. Now the Johnsons were treating her this way - she felt the day she'd be kicked out wasn't far off.
Sophia suddenly remembered what her mother had told her.
It seemed she really needed to get pregnant with a Johnson family child as soon as possible!
This might be her last chance.
Thinking of this, Sophia felt somewhat sad.
She never dreamed that one day she would be reduced to using pregnancy as a tool to get what she wanted.
All of this was Olivia's fault!
Sophia was filled with resentment, her eyes turning vicious, her gaze dark enough to drip blood.
......
On Olivia's side, since the medical business conference ended, the company had become increasingly busy.
Now both companies had good reputations in the industry, and many companies were trying to establish partnerships with them.
Even people who usually had no connection with them would come to curry favor.
However, Daniel was handling all of this, so she was happy to relax. Apart from research and development, she paid no attention to outside matters.
However, the Miller family also wanted to cooperate with them, and Beatrix came to negotiate personally.
Beatrix was different from others - Olivia had a good relationship with her, so when Beatrix came, as soon as Olivia received the news, she personally went to receive her.
The Miller family had strong connections and access to some advanced foreign medical equipment and instruments.
The cooperation with the military involved a heavy workload, and Olivia had long wanted to expand the research lab.
When the two sides met, they had a very pleasant conversation.
Beatrix didn't try to cheat her either, offering reasonable friendship prices. Olivia signed the contract readily.
When Beatrix was signing, Olivia noticed that the pen Beatrix was using was very beautiful, and suddenly had an idea.
"Ms. Miller, may I ask where you bought this pen?"
She seemed to know what gift to give Andrew.
Beatrix was somewhat surprised that she asked about the pen.
She smiled and replied, "This was custom-made for me. Do you want one? I can introduce you. They have many pen styles, and each one has excellent quality."
Olivia nodded quickly. "Yes, please!"
Beatrix gave her the business card, then took out two tickets from her bag and handed them to Olivia. "I heard Bianca likes painting. There happens to be an art exhibition this weekend - you can take her to see it."
Olivia looked surprised when she saw the two tickets.
Because this wasn't an ordinary exhibition - it was quite high-level, displaying and selling some well-known famous paintings. Therefore, tickets to the exhibition were limited.
She didn't expect Beatrix to have two tickets and be so generous as to give them to her.
"These tickets are too valuable, I can't..."
Olivia was about to refuse, but Beatrix smiled and said, "Don't refuse. We're friends - if you're polite with me, I'll be upset."
With Beatrix saying this, Olivia couldn't refuse anymore and happily accepted the tickets. "Alright then, thanky you."
Seeing her put away the tickets, Beatrix was very satisfied.
After finishing the business discussion, Beatrix had other matters to attend to and left first.
Olivia went back and looked up information about this art exhibition.
After reading about it, she thought that a custom pen wouldn't cost much.
Andrew liked painting - perhaps she could also give Andrew a painting.
Thinking this, Olivia sent Andrew a message asking: [Can we reschedule Saturday's treatment? I have something to do.]
When Andrew received the message, he was holding several tickets to the art exhibition.
Were these going to go to waste?
Andrew felt somewhat disappointed, but this exhibition was a rare opportunity.
He said: [Okay, if you're not available, you can let me take Bianca. This weekend's event is very rare, and I think Bianca would really like it too.]
