Chapter 167 Don't Worry, I'm Here!
Since they had settled on a treatment plan, and Andrew was a man of action, later on, after finishing their coffee, the man raised his hand and glanced at his watch.
"It's about time. Shall we get started?"
He stood up calmly and grabbed his coat.
Olivia didn't catch on and asked, "Start what?"
Andrew said, "Helping Bianca adapt to different environments... starting with music. I had David book tickets!
Originally I was planning on a movie, but considering Bianca might not immediately adapt to that kind of dark environment, I changed the plan. We'll start with a concert instead.
It's a similar setting, and since Bianca likes music, she shouldn't be too resistant."
Olivia suddenly understood.
So... when he asked last night if she liked movies, the main purpose was for Bianca's treatment plan?
She felt embarrassed and awkward inside.
Good thing she had stopped her wandering thoughts in time and didn't create any misunderstanding.
Olivia tried to keep her expression calm and said, "Okay."
With that, she quickly gathered her things and put on her coat.
Once ready, she left the café with Andrew.
The concert started at 4 PM and was held at Emerald City International Theater.
It was a world tour by a famous symphony orchestra. Due to its popularity and high artistic value, tickets were nearly impossible to get.
Yet Andrew had booked front-row seats, very close to the stage with an excellent view.
At the moment, the lights were still bright, and the audience was gradually entering. The place was quite noisy.
In the past, when Bianca was in her self-enclosed state, she would basically ignore such commotion.
But now that she was no longer closed off, her senses were constantly aware of everything around her. Suddenly facing such a large crowd of thousands, she began showing signs of unease.
From the moment they entered, Bianca's little hand had been tightly clutching Olivia's clothes, her body somewhat tense.
Olivia noticed this and realized she had indeed been a bit too optimistic before.
Just because Bianca was natural and lively with family didn't mean she was truly fine.
The stress response deep in her bones was still there.
She couldn't help feeling worried and instinctively glanced at Andrew beside her, wanting to ask something.
But before she could, the man had already taken Bianca from her arms, placed her on his lap, and said gently, "Bianca, remember the harmonica I gave you before?"
Bianca's reaction was a beat slow. After a few seconds, she said in her sweet voice, "I remember."
Andrew was extremely patient. "You played it very well. I brought you here tonight because there are many more fun instruments here. Would you like to see them?
In a bit, the performance team will stand up there and use those instruments to play even more beautiful music.
You can observe carefully and pick one you like... If you can do that, I'll give it to you as a gift after the show. How about that?"
Hearing this, Bianca's attention seemed to be drawn back somewhat.
Her clear, deer-like eyes slowly moved to the stage, her voice soft, "Over there?"
"Yes, right there... But before it starts, let me teach you about the instruments first. Then during the performance, I'll test you to see how many you can recognize."
As he spoke, Andrew had already picked up an introduction booklet from the side and began flipping through it.
Inside was a complete guide to instruments, with a wide variety.
Andrew's voice was calm and measured as he explained to Bianca in his arms.
Under his guidance, Bianca quickly relaxed. Her little expression became focused as she began carefully identifying the various instruments.
Seeing Andrew calm her down so easily, Olivia breathed a sigh of relief.
She finally understood why Andrew needed to participate in the second phase of the treatment plan.
Guiding Bianca in this way might really require him. She, as the mother, might not be as effective.
Andrew seemed to sense her thoughts. At that moment, he slowly looked up and met her eyes.
When their eyes met, she saw a hint of reassurance and determination in his deep, calm eyes.
As if telling her: Don't worry, I'm here!
The softest part of Olivia's heart felt touched, and she felt a flutter.
Later, the performance finally began.
Andrew's test for Bianca also started.
Bianca had an amazing memory. Though only taught once, she remembered everything clearly and didn't get a single one wrong from start to finish.
This photographic memory surprised even Andrew.
When the concert ended, the man didn't hold back his praise. "Bianca was amazing just now. You got every single one right. I promised you a reward, and I need to keep my word. Which instrument do you like?"
Bianca counted on her little fingers and said in a sweet childlike voice, "I like so many... the piano, violin, cello. But if I can only choose one, I want the violin."
"Oh?"
Andrew raised an eyebrow. "Why do you like the violin?"
Bianca tilted her head and thought for a moment. Not knowing how to explain, she said very directly, "Because it sounds good. Bianca likes it."
Andrew didn't force her to give a reason. He just smiled. "I see. Alright, I'll get you a violin and introduce you to a violin teacher."
Only then did Olivia find a chance to speak up. "Isn't this... too much trouble and expense for Mr. Hamilton?"
Andrew didn't mind. "Not at all. It's no trouble, and besides, I can't break a promise I made to a child."
Olivia was momentarily speechless. She just looked at Andrew's profile and couldn't help but sigh.
How could the difference between people be so great?
He was just Bianca's psychologist. Treating her for free was already a huge favor to them.
He had absolutely no obligation to do anything else.
Yet whether it was his care for Bianca or his patience, both far exceeded that of Michael, her biological father.
How lucky were she and her daughter to have met him?
Perhaps noticing she was lost in thought, Andrew reminded her, "We should get going too. Most people have left."
Olivia quickly snapped back and replied, "Okay."
They were among the last to leave.
By the time they came out, it was almost 7 PM.
Outside, the sky had already darkened.
Not wanting to take advantage of Andrew for nothing, Olivia suggested, "It's dinner time. Let me book a restaurant and treat you to dinner as thanks for today?"
Andrew was about to respond when David spoke first, "Dr. Garcia, Mr. Hamilton already booked a restaurant this afternoon. The restaurant is by the river, and there will be fireworks. You can watch while eating. Bianca should really like it."
Olivia was speechless.
Why was everything so well planned?
She wanted to show some initiative but didn't even get the chance.
Her expression was helpless. "Isn't this not quite right?"
Hearing this, Andrew chuckled softly, "Don't worry, there's plenty of time ahead. You'll have lots of chances to treat me. This one meal doesn't matter!"
