Chapter 108 Drive Them Out
Andrew had David arrange a very high-end restaurant in Emerald City that served food from Olivia's hometown.
Normally, this restaurant required reservations a month in advance, and they only had limited ingredients available each day.
Olivia and Bianca came directly from the café with him.
Vaughn and Victoria took a cab over.
When Vaughn and Victoria arrived and saw the luxurious private dining room, they both looked a bit uncomfortable.
This restaurant belonged to one of Emerald City's top ten enterprises—the Jennings family, and the Velvet Room inside was especially hard to get into.
When David called to make the reservation, the restaurant owner immediately cleared the spot without a moment's hesitation.
Sensing Vaughn and Victoria's unease, Andrew immediately stood up politely and greeted them warmly, "Mr. Smith, Mrs. Smith, please sit down. I hope inviting you to this casual dinner tonight wasn't too sudden or startling."
Vaughn and Victoria's attention was instantly diverted, their eyes falling on Andrew before them.
Andrew was extremely good-looking, with an elegant, tall figure and an air of nobility that immediately created a sense of status difference.
However, unlike Michael's aloof, cold attitude from on high, he didn't make people feel uncomfortable at all.
On the contrary, he was refined and courteous!
Vaughn and Victoria already had a good impression of him for curing Bianca.
Now, their opinion of him shot up even more.
Victoria immediately responded warmly, "We're not startled at all, but we're making you spend so much!"
Andrew shook his head, "It's just a meal, nothing extravagant. Please don't be so formal."
As they spoke, everyone took their seats and began ordering.
This restaurant's main specialty was crab.
There were all kinds of preparations, with servers helping to explain each method and even helping to crack and shell them.
The service was incredibly attentive—they practically fed them by hand!
Vaughn and Victoria were experiencing this kind of service for the first time and found it quite amazing.
They had never imagined that one day they'd be waited on like this during a meal!
Olivia was relatively calmer, but even she had rarely enjoyed this level of treatment.
Michael had never taken her to places like this!
Let alone her family...
Throughout the meal, Andrew worried that Vaughn and Victoria might feel uncomfortable, so he found topics to chat about at the right moments.
Though Andrew didn't say much, he responded throughout.
Olivia watched this and felt very grateful to Andrew.
In the past, whenever Vaughn and Victoria came to Silverbrook Manor to see her, they never received proper respect.
This was the first time, aside from herself and Evelyn, that someone had made them feel so comfortable.
Andrew was really wonderful and so well-mannered!
Just as the atmosphere was becoming more and more pleasant, in the restaurant's main hall, Chase led two rich friends in for dinner.
As soon as he entered, he told the floor manager directly, "Take us to the Velvet Room."
Hearing this, the floor manager kept his professional smile and said apologetically, "I'm sorry, Sir, the Velvet Room has already been reserved by guests tonight."
Chase was displeased, "Then clear it out and have them give up the spot for me!"
Then he said impatiently, with an air of condescension, "Hurry up, I'll give you ten minutes!"
"This..."
The manager looked very troubled, "Sir, I really can't do that... the guests are already dining. We can't just kick people out—that goes against our restaurant's business principles."
Moreover, tonight's guests were ones the owner had specifically instructed them to treat well.
The two rich friends with Chase saw the manager stalling and immediately started making a scene. "What's wrong with you? Don't you have any sense? Do you know who this is? This is the youngest son of the Johnson family. Other restaurants beg him to come, but here you are turning him away?"
"Can you afford to offend the Johnson family?"
The manager was shocked to learn this man had such an important background.
He became even more troubled.
Chase was getting annoyed, "Allan hangs out with me all the time. Looks like he owes me an explanation."
With that, he pulled out his phone and called Allan Jennings.
When Allan heard that the restaurant had offended Chase, he couldn't sit still and rushed over immediately.
Upon arrival, he bowed and scraped to Chase, "I'm sorry, Mr. Johnson. This is our staff's fault. Please don't take it to heart."
In Emerald City, the Jennings family could only rank at the bottom, worlds apart from the Johnson family.
Allan didn't dare offend Chase.
Especially since Chase was extremely concerned with face—if he upset him, it would be bad for the Jennings family.
So after apologizing, he immediately scolded the manager, "How do you do your job? Mr. Johnson just wants a private room—just arrange it! How can you be so clueless?"
The floor manager looked pained and quickly said in a low voice, "Mr. Jennings, it's not that I won't arrange it, but... the VIP guests in the room tonight were ordered by your dad to be well-treated, and he specifically reminded us not to be negligent, so, I really have no choice!"
Allan was very surprised to hear this.
Parker Jennings had personally given instructions?
Then they must really be VIP guests.
But still, how VIP could they be compared to the Johnson family?
Allan wasn't stupid—he didn't rashly order the room cleared, but first called back to ask Parker about this matter.
After hearing Allan's words, Parker's tone became extremely serious, "Allan, other times I might accommodate the Johnson family, but not tonight. You better not do anything stupid!
Otherwise, if it affects the Jennings family, I'll definitely break your legs!"
Allan was shocked.
This was the first time he'd seen Parker take such a firm stance.
Who exactly was this big shot in that private room?
After hanging up, Allan was sweating and apologized to Chase, "Mr. Johnson, I'm very sorry, The Velvet Room really isn't available tonight. The guests inside are being personally hosted by my father. Look, could you make do with the Sakura Room tonight?
To make up for it, tonight's on me—I'll comp your bill!
Or wait another hour or two, and once The Velvet Room is free, I'll have someone arrange seats for you right away?"
Chase was naturally quite angry after hearing this.
But beyond that, he was more puzzled.
Allan's father usually went out of his way to please the Johnson family.
Tonight, he was actually willing to risk challenging the Johnson family's authority rather than clear the room.
He frowned and asked, "Who are the people in that room?"
Allan shook his head, "I don't know either. My father didn't say... but from his tone, he seemed a bit wary."
Chase didn't believe it.
In Emerald City, only a few major families could make the Jennings family wary.
Today, he had to see who it was!
Soon, Chase led the two rich friends toward the private room.
Allan, worried something might happen, hurried after them.
The group stopped at a corner in the hallway to stake out and wait for the people in that room to come out.
After just ten minutes or so, the private room door actually opened.
Then a slender figure walked out from inside.
Olivia had temporarily received a call from the company.
The team had a data error and urgently needed to discuss it with her.
She specifically went outside to take the call, never expecting to run into Chase.
