Chapter 79 It's Him, Wronged Olivia
The detective's voice crackled over the phone, "We've been tailing him for days. Your husband's really careful. In public, they're together but always keep a respectable distance. Seems like he's trying to avoid suspicion and not get caught..."
"And in private?" Olivia's voice was tight with tension.
"He's been to her place. We tried to get photos, but nothing intimate enough to be solid evidence."
Olivia's face darkened. She could sense the flirtation between them, but she hadn't expected Michael to be so cautious. Was he worried an affair would hurt the Johnson Group?
"Oh, one more thing!" The detective's tone shifted as he remembered something. "Your home is Silverbrook Manor, right? A few days ago, Ms. Brown and her son stayed there overnight. Is there any surveillance in the house? Maybe we can find something..."
"What?" Olivia was stunned. Once she regained her composure, disgust washed over her.
Michael had already brought Sophia to their home? She laughed bitterly at the thought. Was he really that impatient?
However, the house surveillance was probably off-limits.
Michael valued his privacy, and the only places with cameras were Bianca's playroom and bedroom.
The rest of the house, being common areas, had staff coming and going.
Michael wouldn't likely do anything with Sophia in such spaces. As for his private quarters, those were off-limits.
Olivia thought for a moment and responded to the detective, "I'll see what I can do, but you guys need to stay on it and find evidence as soon as possible."
Pursuing a divorce on the grounds of infidelity would be much quicker than a two-year separation due to irreconcilable differences. She couldn't endure her marriage with Michael any longer.
After the incident at the Johnson Mansion, Olivia kept a close eye on Bianca for two days. Once she was sure Bianca was fine, she sent her back to school.
Early that morning, David messaged her: [Dr. Garcia, Mr. Hamilton is back in Emerald City and wants to have dinner with you tonight. He also plans to start a new round of therapy for Bianca.]
Olivia felt a surge of excitement and eagerly agreed: [Great, I'll bring Bianca and we'll be there on time!]
With a joyful heart, she quickly wrapped up her work.
In the afternoon, Benjamin called, "Dr. Garcia, a psychologist named Harper is here at the school to see Bianca. She claims Mr. Johnson sent her to check on Bianca's progress. Do you know about this?"
Olivia was taken aback. Harper was there to see Bianca? Without hesitation, she said, "Mr. White, don't let that woman see Bianca. She's not trustworthy!"
Benjamin replied seriously, "I refused her, but she seems to know the school administration and has already gotten in. Can you come over? I'll try to hold her off!"
"Alright, I'll be there soon."
After hanging up, Olivia rushed to the school without delay.
When she arrived, Harper was arguing with Benjamin. "What's your problem? I'm here to treat my patient. What does that have to do with you? If her condition worsens because of you, can you take responsibility?"
Benjamin responded, "Bianca is my student, and while she's here, it's my duty to ensure her safety! And you..." He gave Harper a once-over, "You don't look like a psychologist."
Typically, psychologists had a certain aura, a professional vibe.
But this woman, with her harsh demeanor and condescending gaze, didn't fit that mold at all.
Olivia's eyes narrowed as she walked up to Benjamin, glaring at Harper, "Why are you here? I already told you, you're fired!"
Harper was startled by Olivia's quick arrival but quickly retorted, "Ms. Smith, why are you so hostile? Bianca's improvement is thanks to my previous treatment, isn't it?"
Olivia laughed coldly. "In all my life, I've never met anyone as shameless as you! Bianca's progress has nothing to do with you. How dare you take credit?"
"You..." Harper's face twisted with displeasure. "If it wasn't me, then was it the school's doing? I'm a professional psychologist! What can these teachers do?"
Benjamin frowned, about to voice his discontent.
From around the corner, a cool, magnetic voice rang out, "The teachers at this school are graduates of top universities with psychology degrees. Didn't you do your homework before coming here?"
Everyone turned towards the voice, reacting differently.
Olivia was pleasantly surprised, "Mr. Hamilton?"
Benjamin remained calm, knowing Andrew was the one he had contacted.
Harper stared at the approaching Andrew, initially taken aback by his striking looks, then intimidated by his commanding presence.
Andrew nodded warmly at Olivia before his piercing gaze landed on Harper.
With a look that seemed to see right through her, he said, "Bianca was in a terrible state before coming here. My diagnosis is that she's been under prolonged emotional distress. As a psychologist, you should have identified this basic issue. How dare you claim credit for her improvement?
Moreover, your behavior is unprofessional. I have reason to believe you not only failed to provide proper psychological support but also maliciously harmed her. You say you're a professional. Which school did you graduate from?"
Though his last question sounded routine, it carried a weight that made Harper feel pressured.
She frowned, puzzled by his authoritative presence.
He must be a teacher here, but how could he have such an imposing aura?
Despite her confusion, she straightened up and replied, "I graduated from Celestial University in Zephyria. Why?"
"Are you sure?" Andrew asked calmly.
Harper puffed out her chest, "What are you implying? Do you think I'd lie about something like that?"
Andrew's expression remained cold as he said, "Whether you're lying will soon be clear."
With that, he took out his phone and made an international call.
A few minutes later, he squinted slightly and said, "Celestial University has no record of a psychology student by your name. So, did you lie or buy a fake diploma?"
Olivia and Harper were both stunned.
What? She was a fake psychologist?
Harper started to panic. This couldn't be! How could he have contacted Celestial University to verify her credentials?
"You... you're spouting nonsense! Don't think you can smear me with a fake call!" Harper tried to suppress her growing unease and retorted loudly.
Andrew calmly put away his phone and, without responding to her, instructed Benjamin, "Call the cops. This woman may have a history of improperly treating patients, and the authorities need to investigate."
Benjamin was shocked by the turn of events but trusted Andrew's judgment. Without hesitation, he dialed the police.
Harper was horrified. She hadn't expected this trouble. And they were so certain she was lying. Could he really have connections with Celestial University?
No, that was impossible! But despite her disbelief, Harper began to panic. If this were true, she'd be finished.
She instinctively tried to move away. But before she could, David and some security guards blocked her path. "The cops aren't here yet. Don't be in a hurry to leave!"
Harper's face tightened, "You have no right to detain me!"
Olivia, who had been in shock, finally snapped out of it.
She had a natural trust in Andrew. If he said Harper was a fake psychologist, he couldn't be wrong.
Her heart raced as she recalled the times Harper had treated Bianca. She sternly said, "Who says we don't have the right? Harper, if you're a fake psychologist, you've maliciously harmed Bianca! I won't let this go. You'd better stay put and wait for the cops!"
Harper's face twisted in anger, but she couldn't leave.
Later, the police arrived, took her in for questioning, and with David's help, the process moved quickly. Within an hour, the police confirmed
Harper was indeed a fake psychologist. Her credentials were bought at a high price! Harper had no qualifications to treat anyone!
Olivia felt a chill run through her. She couldn't imagine what would have happened to Bianca if she hadn't intervened in time. Bianca might never have recovered!
Meanwhile, Michael also received news from the police. When he heard Harper was a fake psychologist, he was in disbelief.
"Sir, could there be a mistake?"
Harper was introduced by Sophia. How could there be an issue?
The police explained, "No mistake. There's enough evidence to prove her false identity. We've learned she treated your daughter for some time. Our investigation shows her methods were not only ineffective but potentially harmful, worsening the patient's condition. You need to come to the station to give a statement."
Michael was stunned, unable to speak.
He suddenly recalled Olivia's past doubts about Harper's professionalism.
At the time, he thought Olivia was being unreasonable. But now, reality hit him hard. Olivia's suspicions were never unfounded. She was right all along! And he had wronged Olivia!
