Chapter 56 Who Can Withstand This?
Was Olivia really going to divorce him?
How dare she?
Michael's face darkened as he continued reading.
The document listed several accusations against him: prolonged emotional neglect towards his wife, failure to fulfill his responsibilities and duties as a father, and infidelity within the marriage...
Michael was furious, a storm brewing in his eyes.
'Damn you, Olivia! You actually dare to divorce me!' Michael cursed in his head.
Sophia, noticing his grim expression, quickly approached and asked, "Michael, what's wrong? Why do you look so upset? What's this document?"
She tried to take a closer look.
Michael swiftly closed the file and responded, "It's nothing. I have some business to attend to. You go ahead and keep busy."
Without giving her a chance to ask further, he grabbed his coat and left the office.
Gone was the tenderness he had almost lost control over earlier.
Sophia was confused and instinctively turned to Robert, asking, "Robert, what's going on?"
Robert hesitated, unsure whether to reveal the truth.
But considering Michael's attitude towards Sophia—his care, affection, and desire to give her the best—he decided not to hide it.
After all, with the divorce filing, Sophia might soon become the Johnson family's hostess.
So, he told her honestly, "It's Mrs. Johnson... I mean, Ms. Smith... She's filed for divorce."
Sophia was both shocked and delighted.
She hadn't expected this.
She had thought Olivia was weak and incompetent, and that she would have to wait for Michael to kick her out himself.
But Olivia had taken the initiative!
Although it suited her perfectly!
Olivia's actions were foolish.
To willingly give up the Johnson family's wealth and anger Michael in the process.
Michael's pride was too strong to allow anyone to challenge his authority.
Olivia's actions were a direct insult to him.
He would never let her off easily.
But this was good news for her.
The messier their fight, the greater her chance.
The title of the Johnson family's hostess was never Olivia's to have!
It was something she had given up years ago, and she wouldn't allow anyone else to take it!
While Sophia was feeling triumphant, Michael's car was speeding home.
He was furious, radiating a cold, oppressive aura as he stormed in, searching for Olivia.
Surprisingly, she was nowhere to be found.
He called for Yara and coldly asked, "Where's Olivia?"
Yara, sensing his anger, nervously replied, "Mrs. Johnson left early in the morning to go out with her parents."
Michael's face darkened further, "Where's Bianca? Did she go too?"
Yara answered honestly, "No, Ms. Johnson is at school."
Michael was taken aback, frowning, "What school?"
Yara hesitated, "Mrs. Johnson enrolled Ms. Johnson in a school. She's been attending classes for two days; today is the third day."
Michael's expression grew darker.
He hadn't known about this!
Olivia was becoming more and more inexplicable, making such decisions without consulting him.
"Which school did she send her to? Is Bianca even fit to attend school? This is absurd!"
After berating Yara, Michael immediately took out his phone to call Olivia.
Yara remained silent, thinking to herself, 'Ms. Johnson's transformation was good; she seemed to be adapting well to school life.'
She helped take care of Bianca every day and saw the positive changes in her.
Clearly, things were improving, but Michael was inexplicably angry!
He hadn't shown much concern before, and now he seemed to be here to blame rather than care.
Despite understanding the situation, Yara didn't dare say anything. She was just a servant, not qualified to question the master's affairs.
Michael, oblivious, continued trying to call Olivia.
But he couldn't get through; her phone was turned off.
Michael's face grew darker, his eyes filled with ominous gloom, like the calm before a storm.
'Olivia, do you think a single lawsuit can get you divorced? Dream on! Since you schemed to marry me in the first place, this marriage will only end when I say so.' With that thought, Michael, still furious, left the house again.
Olivia was unaware of the impending storm.
She spent the day with Vaughn and Victoria, continuing to tour Emerald City's attractions, and in the evening, she went to the school to pick up Bianca.
Bianca had adapted well to school life over the past two days, with no adverse reactions.
She had become quite attached to Benjamin.
Even after school, she insisted on holding Benjamin's hand.
Olivia saw this and couldn't help but smile, "Thank you so much for taking care of her these past two days!"
Benjamin waved his hand and replied with a smile, "It's my pleasure. Besides, I really like Bianca. She's not only cute but also has a great personality and is incredibly smart. Today at school, there was a lesson involving some numerical combinations to exercise their brains' flexibility, thinking ability, and attention... Bianca did exceptionally well!
Not only that, when I increased the difficulty, she completed it effortlessly. Her intelligence is truly remarkable; she's a little genius!"
Initially, Benjamin might not have understood why Andrew paid special attention to this child.
But after these few days, even he was captivated.
Who could resist liking such a cute Bianca?
If it were him, he would also want to help cure her!
Olivia, Vaughn, and Victoria were all proud to hear Benjamin praise Bianca.
Bianca was delighted too, immediately extending her hand and saying in a sweet childlike voice, "Mommy... the teacher gave me a red flower as a reward..."
Olivia lovingly picked her up and praised, "You're amazing, sweetheart!"
Then she thanked Benjamin again before taking Vaughn and Victoria home.
Upon arriving home, Yara immediately reported, "Mrs. Johnson, Mr. Johnson came home looking for you today. He seemed to have something to discuss."
Olivia wasn't surprised.
Samuel had sent a message earlier, saying the summons had been delivered to the Johnson Group.
Michael must have received the documents.
She asked Yara, "Did he bring any papers for me to sign?"
Yara shook her head, "No, he didn't."
Olivia frowned.
She was no longer interested in wasting time with him and was even willing to leave without any assets. Why hadn't he signed the divorce agreement?
Victoria was also puzzled, "If there's no love and he's not invested in this family, what's the point of dragging this out?"
Vaughn asked Olivia, "Are you sure the agreement didn't mention any assets? We don't want any money, just Bianca. We don't need anything from the Johnson family!"
