Chapter 389 Why Is the Time Getting Longer and Longer?
Her expression was serious, and her eyes were resolute.
Just watching her, Andrew felt his heart soften.
Since coming to Harmony City, she had encountered only hostility from everyone.
The contempt and defamation from those people.
She'd even been targeted at work.
But none of this had defeated her.
She hadn't gotten discouraged by setbacks—she was like a reed in the wind.
Always so strong, unwavering.
His Olivia was wonderful in every way, so endearing in every way!
Andrew raised his hand, gently smoothed her hair, and pressed a kiss on her forehead. His voice was full of tenderness and affection. "Olivia, I promise you, this is the last time.
After this trouble subsides, things like this will be a thing of the past, and no one will disrespect you anymore."
Before Olivia could understand what he meant, Andrew's lowered his lips.
His lips brought a tender, passionate warmth.
In her breath, there was only his alluring aroma—a faint, cool fragrance that made her completely enthralled.
She cast aside thinking, wrapped her arms around his neck willingly, and reciprocated.
As they kissed, it aroused up some desire.
Olivia's eyes were covered with a glaze of tears, looking wet and quite fragile.
During a gasping for air, Andrew glanced at her and felt like the primal urge that had been pent-up in his body for so long was about to unleash.
His he swallowed hard, and his rough fingertips had already slipped under her waist, grazing that tender skin.
Several buttons on Olivia's pajamas had come undone—just one more step and things would naturally unfold.
The lighting was dim, the air heavy with sensual charge.
Olivia looked at Andrew through languid gaze, somewhat aroused, even resigned.
As her feelings for Andrew intensified, she found she could calmly surrender to him now.
If he really wanted to make love, she wouldn't turn him away.
But what Olivia didn't expect was that at this moment, Andrew stopped.
His hand stayed on her slight waist, going no further.
He pressed against Olivia's lips, planting gentle pecks one after another.
Olivia could feel his tenderness from his movements.
Only after a while, when his body finally calmed down, did he turn away to the side. His voice was hoarse as he said, "It's late, let's sleep. I'll stay by your side!"
Olivia looked at him, somewhat dumbfounded.
They'd done plenty of physical moments, even in the thermal baths, getting so close they were just on the verge.
Why didn't he proceed?
It couldn't be that he found her unattractive, right?
But that was illogical either—his reactions every time he got aroused showed no hint of distaste.
So what was the reason?
Olivia couldn't restrain yourself. She looked up at him and asked directly, "Isn't it hard for you to hold back?"
Before she finished speaking, her face had already flushed. "Actually, I can accept it!"
She didn't know how irresistible she looked right now.
Saying these words to Andrew in this state was essentially an proposition.
Actually, Olivia wasn't someone with prudish.
Andrew was the person she'd decided to spend her life with.
She'd long since decided to never leave him.
Sex would happen sooner or later—shedidn't mind it.
Andrew hadn't anticipated her to say this to him.
The urge he'd stifled almost tore through that sliver of logic.
Andrew couldn't help but embrace her, so tight it was like he wanted to pull her into his bones and blood.
In inner turmoil, his voice sounded rough, raspy.
"Stop tempting me. I finally managed to control myself. Olivia, now isn't the time yet."
Before he dealt with all the gossip and Finnegan's prejudices, it wasn't time yet.
She was the prized possession he held in his hands—he didn't want her to be hurt.
Olivia didn't understand what information was hidden in his trailing sentence. She just inquired, "So when will it be the appropriate moment?"
Andrew's Adam's apple moved up and down twice. His voice was dark and husky, intensely seductive. "It won't be too long."
Olivia nodded and answered softly, "Very well we'll wait. But for now..."
Her ears suddenly turned red, and she hid her face in his chest.
Not risking a look his eyes, her voice was small, laced with bashfulness as she said, "Let me try another way first. I don't want to see you bearing the burden."
She'd already resolved and bolstered her spirit, so without waiting for Andrew to agree or refuse, her small hand was already around his waist.
A faint click—the belt buckle being undone.
Andrew was utterly silent, feeling a electric jolt flow through his frame.
Being a man of honor for so long, sometimes he didn't really want to be one longer.
That night, by the time the act concluded, the hands on the clock had struck the hour.
Olivia felt her fingers were tingling and had lost sensation, her head was spinning, fixated on one thought.
Why was he lasting longer and longer?
After refreshing herself again, Olivia used up her last bit of strength and slipped into a deep sleep the moment she touched the bed.
After staying at the Liliana Resort with Andrew for a few days, she finally didn't have to check in with the military district anymore.
So the next morning, after breakfast, Olivia made ready back.
Not seeing Bianca for several days, she yearned for her.
She whispered to Andrew, "Bianca has never been away from me this long before. She likely misses me."
"I know, you miss Bianca too."
Andrew went out with her and took the opportunity to tell her the information he'd recently acquired. "The international art contest Bianca entered—she earned a distinction.
When Bianca gets the news, she'll probably be eager to tell it with you."
"Really?" Olivia brightened immediately.
Just then, her phone rang—someone had sent her a message.
Olivia looked down and saw it was well-wishes from Ivan.
Ivan said excitedly, "Bianca's work won a international silver!
Although it's only silver, the impact is already immense. National publications have already started covering the story. I wanted to inform you—from now on, Bianca's reputation will begin to circulating."
Looking at the message, Olivia's face was full of awe and satisfaction. "That's wonderful! That's wonderful! Bianca is so amazing! She'll be so happy when she discovers she won!"
She was extremely excited and lunged toward Andrew, hugging him and giving him a kiss. "Of course, you deserve the most recognition!"
Without his dedicated guidance, Bianca might not have won this award!
Andrew smiled and shook his head. "It has not my doing. It's Bianca's exceptional talent and hard work. She's the most carefree and prodigy I've ever seen!"
"Whatever you say!"
Olivia was in high spirits and didn't dispute with him about it. She released Andrew and said, "Bianca should be with my parents. She probably doesn't aware of this yet. I need to go back and inform her personally!"
"Okay, I'll take you."
Olivia nodded and immediately told David to hasten and go.
When they got home, Bianca had just finished breakfast and was playing with a puzzle on the living room carpet.
Hearing movement from the entrance, Bianca looked back.
She discovered it was Olivia coming back.
"Mommy!"
Bianca immediately jumped up happily and bounced into Olivia's arms like a bolt of energy. "Mommy, you're back?"
Olivia happily picked her up and showered Bianca with kisses. "I missed Bianca so much! So, so much!"
Bianca's cheeks were delicate and fragrant. She giggled as she was kissed, her voice high and youthful. "I missed Mommy too! Absolutely missed you!"
Victoria watched the affectionate mother and daughter with delight. "You've only been apart a few days, but you two are really going all out!"
It was only then did Olivia look at Victoria, saying with a smile, "That's not all—there's wonderful tidings!
Bianca won a silver medal in an international painting competition! Our Bianca is now a genuine little artistic virtuoso!"
"Really?"
Hearing this news, Vaughn immediately ran out of the study. Like Victoria, his face was full of surprise and joy.
"Bianca is amazing!"
"But which international painting competition was it?"
Victoria didn't know much about it, so Vaughn snatched his device to look it up and show her.
After reading about the competition's prestige, they were even more proud of Bianca.
"That's incredible! This is wonderful news for our family!
I'll have Yara get things ready—we must commemorate the occasion tonight!"
After speaking excitedly, Vaughn said to Olivia, "Olivia, call Evelyn and the others over for dinner too. Let's set the mood!"
"Okay!"
Olivia nodded, her face beaming.
Victoria, Vaughn, and Yara were all efficient.
Right after deciding, around two in the afternoon, the three of them started busily confirming dishes and gathering supplies.
Before dinner began, quite a few attendees arrived at the house.
Besides Rodolfo, there were Andrew, Evelyn, Daniel, Jade, and Benjamin.
Even Liam came to join the fun.
Everyone brought gifts to congratulate Bianca on her award!
Bianca was surrounded by of gifts, overjoyed.
Dinner was very sumptuous. Victoria and Vaughn had originally worried that these pampered kids wouldn't be used to home cooking, but unexpectedly, they all loved it.
Benjamin and Evelyn led the praise. "Mr. Smith, Mrs. Smith, and Yara's cooking is really amazing—this is the best home cooking I've ever had!"
"Yes, it tastes wonderful, even better than five-star chefs!"
"I have to eat more!"
They were very cooperative, which made Victoria and Vaughn happy. They kept saying, "Take your time, there's more if you need it. If you want to eat this anytime, you can always come over."
"Okay!"
Evelyn nodded, then went back to fighting with Benjamin over chicken wings.
By the end of the meal, all the plates were empty, and everyone was holding their full bellies as they went to the yard to digest, drink coffee, and chat.
Liam admired Rodolfo so much and had been dying to meet his idol for so long.
Now that the opportunity finally came, he was especially attentive, pouring coffee for him while eagerly asking, "Did Olivia mention to you that I want to become your student?"
The carefulness and anticipation on his face made Rodolfo laugh.
He accepted the coffee and said, "She did mention it, but does your family agree?"
Without hesitation, Liam immediately said, "Don't worry about that. They didn't agree at first, but after I went back once, they gave in!"
Overhearing their conversation, Olivia curiously came over and asked, "What did you do?"
From what she knew of Liam, he probably didn't do something like threaten to cut ties with his family, did he?
Liam said with a grin, "I went back and threatened the elders of our family!"
"Threatened?"
The attention of everyone else in the yard was drawn over.
Evelyn asked curiously, "How did you threaten them?"
Liam said matter-of-factly, "Everyone has some unknown secrets and shameful history. As it happens, I know all about theirs!"
He looked proud as he said this!
Benjamin also asked, "And after threatening them, they agreed?"
"Yes!"
Liam nodded and said seriously, "They told me to get lost! They said if I want to join Medica Vitae Sect, go ahead, do whatever I want!"
Olivia was impressed. "And you call that agreeing?"
Rodolfo was also amused by Liam. "Those old folks in your family are still the same."
After laughing, he straightened up and said quite seriously, "Well, since you want to learn so badly, I'll accept you as my student."
At these words, Liam was overjoyed. "Really?"
"Yes."
Rodolfo nodded. "You've shown so much sincerity, even bringing the Blake family's texts to exchange. Let's call it mutual learning then.
As for having Olivia take you as a student, forget it.
Just be my student."
The thing he'd been longing for had finally come true. Liam was thrilled and quickly said, "Thank you so much!"
Rodolfo waved his hand, and Liam happily stepped back.
Olivia came over and asked Rodolfo, "Is this really okay?"
Rodolfo nodded. "He's someone worth training. If he can use those medical skills to save more people, that's good.
Passing on the tradition is certainly important, but healing and saving people is the purpose of Medica Vitae Sect."
Olivia realized she'd been stuck in a narrow way of thinking.
With Rodolfo's reminder, she suddenly understood. "I get it now, Mr. McCoy!"
While they chatted on one side, Evelyn was observing Andrew and Daniel on the other.
She was surprised to find that even sitting together, the two CEOs could reach some kind of balanced coexistence.
Though the scene looked a bit odd.
Both had incredibly strong presences—one cold, one easygoing. No matter how you looked at it, they seemed like they could start fighting at any moment.
Yet somehow, they could discuss business matters.
Jade sat beside her, watching the scene and praising, "I'd heard before that Mr. Wilson wasn't easy to get along with.
Seems that's not entirely true!"
Benjamin said with a smile, "When you like someone, you don't necessarily have to compete for them.
Silently protecting them, respecting them, helping them be happy—isn't that also a kind of love?"
"That's true, but to let go requires such strong willpower and patience, doesn't it?"
Especially having to watch the person you like being lovey-dovey with someone else—it's basically slow torture.
Yet Daniel's face was very calm, showing no trace of the bitterness and sadness of a broken heart.
Only Evelyn had seen Daniel looking dejected.
Perhaps he could now control his emotions, or perhaps he'd come to terms with it?
Either way, he really was a good person.
Just as Evelyn finished praising him in her mind, she saw the atmosphere between Andrew and Daniel start to become tense.
She didn't know what they'd said.
……
At this moment, Daniel's expression indeed showed some displeasure.
"It's been over ten days, and Mr. Hamilton is just letting that crazy woman from the Ross family keep slandering Olivia?
If you don't do something, then let me handle it!"
Facing his questioning, Andrew's expression was quite calm as he said, "No need to trouble Mr. Wilson. Tomorrow night, Opulent Oasis Hotel—Mr. Wilson is welcome to come watch the show."
