Chapter 241 Is This a Confession or a Proposal
That evening, the birthday banquet ended before ten-thirty.
The charity project was a major matter that couldn't be finalized in a short time—it needed more discussion.
Everyone understood, so they agreed to have an early meeting tomorrow, led by Medica Vitae Sect.
The higher-ups had no objections and approved it on the spot.
Later, after seeing off all the guests, Daniel volunteered to take charge of creating the proposal.
He had more people, more experience, and could work faster.
Rodolfo naturally had no objections, and told Daniel, "We'll also send people from Medica Vitae Sect to assist."
"Sure, whatever you say!" Daniel had no problem with that. Actually, he had a little selfish motive for doing this.
He wanted Olivia to know he could be useful.
Besides, he still needed to stay behind to handle the aftermath—they still had no clue who brought in that live streaming equipment.
Since Olivia had plans with Andrew, she took Rodolfo home first.
As for her parents, she didn't have time to make another trip, so she asked Evelyn to help.
Of course Evelyn wouldn't refuse.
In fact, she smiled at her suggestively, "Got it. Mr. Hamilton has plans with you, so naturally I should handle the cleanup. Leave it to me—it's totally fine if you don't come home tonight, you know."
Olivia found her teasing amusing. "What are you talking about? Why wouldn't I come home? I have Bianca with me—what could I possibly do!"
Evelyn said with a smile, "Today's a special day, you don't have to bring her. Bianca can come with me. After all, it's getting late, and look, Bianca's already starting to yawn."
Vaughn and Victoria nearby didn't know what they were talking about, but when they heard Evelyn say this, they chimed in, "Olivia, if you need to stay behind to wrap things up, your dad and I can take Bianca home."
"Yes, Evelyn's right. Look, the child is so tired she can barely keep her eyes open."
Hearing this, Olivia looked down at Bianca.
Wasn't she tired?
She hadn't even heard what they were saying, drowsily rubbing her eyes and yawning sweetly.
She looked absolutely adorable.
Victoria also respected Bianca's wishes and asked gently, "Bianca, do you want to go home with Grandma to sleep?"
"Come home with us, and we'll tell you a bedtime story, okay?" Vaughn said.
Bianca's reaction was delayed by a few seconds. Finally, sleepiness won over everything. She yawned again, tears forming in the corners of her eyes.
She nodded obediently and said, "Okay."
Seeing that she wanted to go back herself, Olivia had no choice but to let her go.
Vaughn picked up Bianca, and she leaned against him, peacefully dozing off.
Victoria said to Olivia, "Then we'll head out first. You be careful."
"Okay, you guys be safe too. If anything comes up, call me anytime."
The two elders left with the child.
Evelyn followed behind, taking the opportunity to turn back and make all kinds of faces at Olivia, as if hinting at something.
Olivia found it quite amusing.
With such expressive facial movements, wasn't she worried about getting a cramp?
She shook her head. After they left, she thought about finding Andrew.
Just as she looked around, she saw that black Maybach slowly coming around the corner of the hotel and finally stopping in front of her.
After Olivia got in the car, she looked at Andrew somewhat apologetically and said, "Sorry for making you wait so long."
Andrew shook his head. "It's fine. Tonight you're the birthday girl—I should accommodate your schedule."
David was driving up front.
When she saw the car start moving, Olivia was a bit surprised. "Where are we going?"
This time Andrew finally didn't keep her guessing. He said warmly, "To the riverside."
"The riverside?"
Olivia was a bit confused, but thinking that whatever it was, she'd find out soon enough, she didn't press for answers.
About fifteen minutes later, David dropped them off at the riverside.
Olivia and Andrew got out of the car together.
The man didn't say anything, just gestured for Olivia to follow him.
Olivia didn't question it and quietly followed behind him.
A few minutes later, she discovered that Andrew had brought her to the rooftop of a skyscraper by the river.
This was a very famous landmark building in Emerald City.
On both sides of the riverbank stood several towering buildings—not only the most famous commercial district, but also a well-known financial district.
The top floor of the skyscraper had a helicopter landing pad, and next to it was a partitioned sky lounge area, specifically for entertaining people from high society circles.
Glass walls everywhere, beautifully decorated. From up here, you could overlook the entire Emerald City and its bustling nightscape.
When Olivia and the others arrived, the place had already been cleared.
The table was already set with lots of delicate food, as well as drinks and beverages.
Olivia's attention fell on the birthday cake on the table.
Although everything was quite simple, Olivia could see it was full of atmosphere and sentiment.
By now, it was already eleven o'clock at night.
After sitting down, Olivia looked at the birthday cake on the table and said with a smile, "So, Mr. Hamilton, you're helping me celebrate my birthday again?"
Andrew's voice was low. "These are just extras. I mainly wanted to show you something else—something I promised Bianca I'd prepare..."
Olivia was somewhat confused.
The next second, she saw Andrew look outside.
Olivia followed his gaze, and then she saw what might be a scene she'd never forget for the rest of her life.
She saw a huge screen of light appear above the row of buildings across from them.
Olivia was amazed to discover that the light screen was actually made up of countless drones.
As she watched, the drones transformed into various patterns in the air, even creating fireworks.
The gorgeous fireworks were colorful and dazzling.
Although they weren't real fireworks, Olivia felt like she was watching a grand fireworks feast.
Not only that, but finally they even formed her portrait, wishing her a happy birthday in a subtle way, and a life ahead full of joy, peace, and happiness!
Olivia was stunned.
She had seen this kind of celebration online before, but they were all on a very simple scale.
Back then, she never would have imagined that someday someone would give her such a spectacular show.
And this light screen was truly massive—who knows how many drones it was made of.
Most importantly, such skilled operation—how long must they have trained?
Olivia was dumbfounded and looked at Andrew. "This..."
For a moment she couldn't describe how she felt inside. After a long while, she finally found her voice. "Mr. Hamilton... how long did this take to prepare?"
Andrew withdrew his gaze from outside and replied casually, "Not long. These drones are a new product developed by my company. My people use them for missions regularly and are very skilled at operating them. Tonight's performance probably took about a week to prepare."
Olivia was shocked. "In just a week, they could rapidly change through so many patterns? If I'm not mistaken, those seemed to be made up of individual paintings."
Andrew didn't deny it. He chuckled and said, "Pretty sharp eyes."
Hearing this, Olivia's eyes were full of disbelief. "It really is? Don't tell me you drew each one yourself?"
Andrew said, "Drawing isn't difficult for me. It doesn't take much time."
David in the distance heard this and thought, 'Not much time—that's not wrong, but Mr. Hamilton painted half a sketchbook for tonight.
And to make the images from the paintings leap into the air, the coordination required—how much effort that must have taken. It's not as simple as just saying it.'
He had been thinking before that Andrew was pretty good at this, but now he wasn't so sure.
This was such a touching, heart-capturing opportunity—why not take the chance to promote himself more?
David almost wanted to rush up and speak on Andrew's behalf.
However, considering that Andrew probably wouldn't be happy about that, he thought better of it.
Olivia didn't know what David was thinking, but that didn't stop her from understanding how difficult this must have been.
That was just like Andrew—he did more than he said.
But even so, she wasn't blind.
She could feel his thoughtfulness.
Olivia looked at him seriously. "I really love this gift!"
Hearing this, Andrew's lips curved slightly, seeming quite satisfied. "As long as you like it."
Olivia nodded, not wanting to miss a moment of his heartfelt gesture. She turned back to seriously appreciate the still-changing drone performance.
Because the content was so spectacular, Olivia didn't look away.
Halfway through, she asked Andrew, "Does Bianca know about this too?"
Andrew seemed to chuckle and said, "Last time when I was coaxing her, I used this as an excuse.
I told her I wasn't coming home because I was preparing a birthday surprise for you, and she believed it."
Olivia found it amusing. "So that's how it was."
She didn't say anything more and quietly watched the performance.
The drone show lasted over half an hour.
When it ended, Olivia still felt like she hadn't seen enough.
Andrew put a candle on the cake and gently reminded her, "Make a wish, then cut the cake."
Only then did Olivia remember the cake.
She hesitated for two seconds and said, "I already made a wish tonight. If I make another wish now, will it still come true?"
Andrew thought it was something serious, but hearing her say this, he told her, "One cake, one wish. As the birthday girl, having two wishes isn't too much."
Olivia thought that made sense.
So without further hesitation, she put her hands together and seriously made a wish in her heart.
After blowing out the candle, she cut the cake.
The first slice was cut perfectly. She gave it to Andrew. "Mr. Hamilton, have some cake."
"Mm."
If it were any other time, Andrew, who didn't like sweets, would definitely not touch dessert.
But tonight, as he said, was a special day, so he was very gracious and ate the cake.
While eating cake, they started chatting about the drones.
Olivia asked him curiously, "How are these drones different from the ones currently on the market?"
Andrew seriously explained to her, "The system in our drones is completely new. Compared to those on the market, we've added multiple features.
So far, after various tests, the results have been much better than expected."
Olivia was a bit confused. "I don't think I've seen this model of drone on the market. Hasn't it been released yet?"
Andrew said, "We don't plan to release it to the market. They've all been put into military use."
Olivia was very interested in Skyward Corporation's high-tech field and asked without thinking.
If it were anyone else, they definitely wouldn't say much.
After all, this might involve classified information.
But David noticed that Andrew had no intention of hiding anything.
He even told Olivia, "If you get a chance to go to Harmony City in the future, I can take you to visit."
Was this still the once aloof and unworldly Andrew?
Olivia's eyes were sparkling. "That would be such an honor!"
The two chatted while eating, and the atmosphere was quite nice.
They just didn't know that online, the trending topics had exploded again.
The reason was that stunning drone show.
[Which big shot is confessing? Or proposing? My god, this is so romantic I could die!]
