Chapter 197 Take Her Back to Harmony City
Olivia looked at him with a strange expression and said, "Are you kidding me? Do I look that stupid to you?"
She couldn't wait to stay away from that family. Never seeing them again would be best. How could she possibly jump back into that pit of fire?
Her brain wasn't broken.
"Of course not," Daniel said. "But back then, you were the one who was so determined and headstrong, weren't you?"
Olivia was speechless.
For a moment she couldn't argue back, and could only say helplessly, "I was young then, didn't know how to judge people. Five years have passed, I've grown up, my judgment has improved, and I have no interest in going backward.
Let's not bring up this embarrassing history anymore. It's bad luck."
Daniel smiled with pursed lips, seeming quite pleased. "What about Bianca then? If she needs a complete family, what would you do?"
Olivia laughed sarcastically. "The past five years were pretty complete, but what did she get? I think she probably doesn't need that anymore."
Hearing this, a tall figure suddenly flashed through Daniel's mind.
He asked with deep eyes, "Then what does she need, the psychologist?"
Olivia was stunned.
Why was he suddenly bringing up Andrew out of nowhere?
Why did she feel like Daniel was hinting at something?
But Olivia couldn't quite figure it out, so she just said directly, "Actually yes. Bianca's autism hasn't completely healed yet. She's currently undergoing the second stage of treatment.
She seems fine now, probably no different from normal kids, but sometimes in certain situations, the condition can still relapse."
At this point, Olivia's face grew serious, and she didn't hide it from Daniel. "A few days ago, Michael went to the kindergarten to find her, and she relapsed right then."
Hearing this, Daniel pressed his lips together and didn't ask further.
He knew how important Bianca was to her.
So he comforted her gently, "Well, Bianca's condition is what matters most. You go ahead with your work, I'll head back to mine too."
"Okay." Olivia nodded without thinking much and turned back to her office.
Daniel went outside and got straight into his car.
Eric was about to start the car when he heard Daniel ask him, "Did you find information on that person?"
"I did."
Eric nodded, his expression somewhat serious. "But what I found was all previously known information. Nothing else turned up."
Daniel narrowed his eyes. "If you can't find anything, then you're looking in the wrong direction. Given Christopher's respectful attitude, the other person's identity must be unusual. Look higher up. He's a military psychologist, so his information might be hidden. Start from that angle."
"Alright, but it'll take time."
Daniel leaned back in his seat, looking toward the research institute, and said in a low voice, "That's fine, I can wait."
He'd waited all these years, what was a little more time?
At the very least, he needed to know what kind of opponent he was dealing with.
……
On Andrew's side.
David came over to report. "Mr. Hamilton, quite a few people are looking into your information."
"Oh." Andrew wasn't surprised by this.
Over the years, plenty of people had tried to find out about him.
Seeing no reaction from him, David continued, "Besides a small group last night asking about your identity, there are mainly two groups of people, from Michael and Daniel respectively."
Hearing this, Andrew raised his eyebrows slightly, but his expression remained indifferent, as if he didn't care much.
David couldn't read his thoughts for a moment, so he asked, "Should I block them or hide the information?"
Andrew replied calmly, "Not many people outside know my identity. Some information has long been concealed. If they can actually find it, that shows they're capable. No need to deliberately do anything, it's a waste of effort."
David understood.
He wasn't worried about those people knowing his identity, was he?
But thinking about it, that made sense. Andrew was getting so close to Olivia now, he'd run into those two sooner or later anyway.
So David said, "Then I won't block them. Either way, no matter who it is, you can handle it, Mr. Hamilton..."
Andrew glanced at him, neither confirming nor denying this.
Just then, his phone on the desk rang. He looked down and saw it was a call from Finnegan.
Andrew picked up unhurriedly and called out, "Grandpa."
Finnegan got straight to the point. "I heard you've been pretty free lately. If that's the case, why not come back to Harmony City?
It's not right to keep leaving the company here to your subordinates. You might as well just come back, and you could keep me company too."
Andrew didn't answer directly, but asked calmly, "You know about my movements?"
Finnegan scoffed on the other end. "Finding out about your movements is easy for me, isn't it?
The military has been asking less of you this year, even letting you have the leisure to show your face at two top summits. Since that's the case, why are you still staying there? When exactly are you planning to come back?"
By the end, his tone already carried some displeasure.
Andrew wasn't affected by Finnegan's emotions at all.
He replied, "I still have unfinished business. You don't need to worry about me, I have my own plans."
Hearing this, Finnegan got angry. "What plans could you have? Every time I want to see you it's especially difficult.
If you had any consideration, I wouldn't have to waste my breath repeatedly. If you keep this up, I'll just send people to find you, or I'll come myself!"
You could tell Finnegan was really fired up, his voice rising several notches.
Andrew just calmly moved the phone away from his ear.
When the voice on the other end quieted down, he put it back to his ear and said in a flat tone, "Grandpa, I've already said I have my own arrangements. You should know I least like people disrupting my plans.
When it's time to go back, I'll naturally go back."
Though there was no argument, Finnegan could hear from his firm, non-negotiable tone what he meant.
"You..." He wanted to say something more, but felt that even if he did, it would be pointless.
Andrew wouldn't listen anyway!
Finnegan was immediately frustrated and said angrily, "Fine, don't come back then!"
He hung up the phone right away.
Andrew looked at the disconnected call and shook his head helplessly.
He put away his phone and instructed David, "Send some good tea back to my grandfather, to cheer him up."
"Alright."
David knew Finnegan's preferences well and knew what to send.
But he still couldn't help worrying for Andrew - would Finnegan really send people over?
Actually, they always erased some information about their activities here in Emerald City.
By the time it reached Finnegan's ears in Harmony City, at most, it was just that Andrew was treating a child's psychological issues.
So Finnegan didn't know much.
But if someone came over, it would be different.
Then they would definitely discover Olivia's existence.
Even though the two of them didn't have anything going on now.
But given Andrew's special treatment of her, Finnegan would definitely be on guard and nip any possibility in the bud.
When that happened, Olivia would definitely have trouble.
As Andrew's assistant, David knew very well that no one could shake Andrew's decisions or thoughts.
Even if he was being good to someone, no one could stop him.
Andrew obviously knew Finnegan's way of doing things too, so he instructed David, "Keep a close watch. Don't wait until people arrive to find out who they are."
He didn't like things being out of his control.
Finnegan's thoughts were hard to read, and he often acted unexpectedly. He needed to prepare in advance.
"Got it!" David immediately agreed.
However, he couldn't help wondering - Andrew was going back to Harmony City in the second half of the year at the latest, and after that he probably wouldn't come to Emerald City much.
What would happen to Olivia and Bianca then?
Would he leave them here, or take them with him?
Who knew if their relationship would be settled by then?
Thinking about this gave David a headache. Andrew's progress was way too slow.
So he decided not to think about it anymore.
Anyway, this was Andrew's business. Let him worry about it himself. David was just a working man; why thought so much about it?
After figuring this out, David suddenly remembered something. "By the way, Mr. Hamilton, do you know what size shoes Dr. Garcia wears?"
Andrew's eyes lifted slightly, his voice seeming to cool a few degrees. "Why are you asking about that?"
David felt a chill down his back.
He cleared his throat quickly and hurried to explain, "Last night when I saw Dr. Garcia, I just remembered that last time I accidentally broke her heel, and I kept forgetting to buy her a pair to replace them. I felt bad about it, so I thought I'd ask you."
Andrew withdrew his gaze and replied, "Do I look like I would know?"
David looked at him skeptically. "You don't know?"
After asking, he didn't believe it himself. "That doesn't make sense. Before at the beach, didn't you put medicine on her foot?
And when she sprained her ankle on that business trip, you saw it too. I thought you would know."
David couldn't help muttering to himself, 'No wonder Mr. Hamilton's progress is so slow! When he's in contact with Dr. Garcia, he doesn't even remember these details.'
Andrew said flatly, "Didn't you see it too?"
David quickly shook his head and immediately stated, "No, I wouldn't dare look too closely. I still want to keep my eyes."
Andrew said with a half-smile, "I think you don't just want to keep your eyes."
'You don't want to keep your life either now, do you? Actually wanting to give her shoes?' Andrew thought.
He was too lazy to scare him, and said straightforwardly, "You don't need to worry about the shoes. I already had someone send a pair from abroad. Counting the days, they should arrive soon."
