“Lenox Hills”.I ended the call.
"JACE, GET TO LENOX HILLS RIGHT NOW. SOMETHING HAPPENED TO CALLIE.” I ended the call and ran out.
“Cancel all my appointments, call my parents, and tell them to meet me at the hospital.”
Jesus Christ, what happened to her? I drove like a madman, trying to get there. When I pulled up, I saw Jace rushing out of his car.
“What the hell happened to her?”
“I don't know.”
When we walked in, we saw Crystal standing with some police officers. The minute she saw us, she ran into Jace and held onto him. I looked at the scene in front of me.
“Jace I'm sorry; I don't know what happened. After you left, I got called into work. I forgot some papers, so I went back. The front door was open, so I thought Callie was there. I found her lying on the floor in her room in a pool of blood. Someone stabbed her in the back. I'm sorry, Jace.”

“It's okay, babe, it's not your fault.” Hold the fuck up, babe ?. So that's why he wasn't mad at me and Callie; I just looked at him.
“Crystal, have you spoken to the doctor?”
"No. They called the police. The police are already at our apartment. They said it was a robbery gone wrong. Stuff has been removed from our apartment, and it looks like all our jewelry is gone.”
I looked at Jace. “If she did this, she'll end up at the bottom of a fucking river.”
“You better get her before I do, Anthony.”
“Matter of fact, Jace, get rid of her. Fuck the child.”
He just looked at me. “You don't mean that, Anthony.”
“I do; I don't give a fuck about anyone or anything. Callie is the most important thing in my life, and if I have to kill every single person that hurts her, then I will.”
"Anthony,Jace what happened to Callie?”
After Crystal told them what happened, we just sat there. I couldn't sit still. I kept pacing the waiting room. "Son, why don't you sit down?”
“I can't; I don't know what's happening with her.”
"Anth, calm down.”
“I can't, Jace.”
“Oh Shit!”
I looked at him, but he wasn't looking at me. When I turned around, I saw Rachel walking towards us. I didn't think I walked over to her, grabbed her by the throat, and slammed her into the wall. Jace was behind me, trying to pull my hands away.
“If you had anything to do with this, if you even had a minute in hurting her, I will personally kill you and dump your body in the fucking sea.”
"Anth, let her go.”He managed to pull my hands away; she just stood there, holding her neck and coughing.
“Get the fuck out of my sight.”
“Anthony,Jace”
The doctor was standing with Crystal. We walked over to him. “Doctor, how's our daughter-in-law?”
Jace just looked at my dad.
“She's been stabbed four times in the back; she's extremely lucky; the wounds aren't deep, just an inch and a half; if they were any deeper, she wouldn't have made it. She lost a lot of blood; you're lucky you found her when you did. Any longer, and she would have bled to death. She's in a lot of pain, but out of danger, she's in her room, and you can see her.”
When I turned around, Rachel was gone. She was dead. The doctor led us to her room; she was asleep. Crystal and my mom walked over to her, and I looked at Jace.
“Care to explain?”
He looked at me.“It just happened, okay? I mean, most girls don't understand how much Callie means to me. A few of them even accused me of being in love with my sister, which is absurd, but I'm all Callie has, and she's all I have."
“Now that hurts, what am I?”
“You know what I mean, Idiot, and Crystal, she understands; she's been friends with Callie for about seven years now, and well, it just kind of happened.”.
“That's why you weren't angry; you did the same thing.”
“She wants to tell Callie, but I'm scared Callie may think I'm doing it to get back at her for being with you.”
“You know your sister isn't like that?”
“I know, I really do like Crystal. And if it doesn't work out, what's going to happen to her friendship with Callie?”
“Nothing, just tell her.”
I saw her hands twitching; she was walking up. I walked over and sat next to her. “Come on, baby, time to wake up.”
The minute her eyes opened and she saw me, she started crying. “Jace ?”
“I'm right here, Callie; you scared the life out of us.”
“I'm sorry.”
“I'm so happy you're okay. When I came back home and saw you on the floor, I thought you wouldn't make it.”
“You found me?”
"Yes, what happened?”
After she told us, I looked at Jace. This was premeditated; they were waiting for her in that apartment. “Mom, Dad, please stay with Callie; I need to do something. I'll be back soon, baby.”
I kissed her head and walked out of the room. Jace was right behind me. “Don't do it, Anth.”
“Fuck no, they tried to kill her.”
"Yes, and you know how much I love my sister. I have a better idea, one that will destroy them completely.”.
Callie
I felt terrible. When I opened my eyes, Crystal was there, as were Jace, Anthony, and his parents. I was in so much pain, but I didn't let on.
“Did the police find out who did it?”
"No, they said it was a robbery gone wrong.”
“Robbery ? But nothing was taken from our apartment." I looked at them; something else was happening here.
“Callie, why don't you relax? Get some rest. We'll leave you to talk with Jace.
“Okay, Mrs. Collins.”
After they left, Jace sat next to me on the bed. “You scared me, Callie; you really scared me.”
"Sorry, Jace, I think Rachel had something to do with this.”
“Why do you say that?”
“I don't know; it's just a feeling.”
“Don't worry about that now; just focus on getting better. Crystal called Marcy, and Mr. and Mrs. C wanted to call mom and dad.”
“Oh god, you know how Marcy is. Wait, what? Jace, I do not want to see them; under any circumstances, are they to know what happened?”
"Okay, why don't you get some rest? We'll be outside.”
“Okay ”
Before Jace could leave, the door burst open, and Marcy and the others walked in. “Oh good Lord, what happened, Callie? Are you okay?”
Marcy was an over-the-top person and also my boss. I looked at Crystal.
“I'm fine, Marcy.”
“Crystal called me and told me what happened. I don't expect you at work for the next month at least, but please tell me you've got something for me for the fashion show.”
I started laughing. “You know I do. Crystal will bring them over for you tomorrow.”
Just then, Anthony walked into the room, and all eyes were on him. He walked over to me.
“I need to get back to the office. I'll be back as soon as I can. My parents are staying here.”
“Are you nuts? No, let your parents go home.”
"Callie, they're staying; besides, I need to go back home and take care of some things at the shop, then I'll be back. I'm staying until you're better.”
“The jet is waiting for you, Jace. On your way back, you'll be stopping by my place. Ann already has everything ready.”
I was confused as hell just looking at them. “What is going on right now?”
"Well, since someone tried to kill my baby sister, I'm staying in New York until we figure it out and you're better.”
“And because I don't want you or Crystal in that apartment, you'll both be staying in my other apartment along with me and Jace.”
“Did either of you ask me? Did you ask Crystal?”
“Callie I've decided, and that's it.
“Okay ”
