“This one is our bargain buy at the moment.” The assistant explained, picking up one of the demo straps. “It’s made for comfort and functionality but it also looks great on because of all the straps and leather.”

“Oh wow, it’s even got little gems in the straps,” Kate exclaimed and I half thought she was going to buy it for herself.

“I think your one-night stands might run away screaming if you walked into the bedroom wearing that.” I giggled.

“And that is exactly why I am not living vicariously through you now.” Kate winked at me. “You know full well you will have to give me all the details.”

“Does that mean this is going into the basket?” the assistant wiggled her eyebrow.

“Of course!” Kate grabbed a boxed strap from the rail before the assistant could show us anything else. “I think you need to get some crazy hot lingerie to go with this.”

I was just about to reject the idea when I felt my phone begin to vibrate in the back pocket of my jeans. Shoving the dildo box under my arm, I reached around with my other hand to pull my phone out.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw Lee’s name flash across the screen.

“Which lover boy is that?” Kate asked.

“It’s Lee,” I replied. “I have to take this.”

“Go ahead, I’ve got this,” Kate promised.

I tried not to think about how over the top she was going to take things as I slipped over to a quiet corner to take the call.

“Hey handsome,” I answered as soon as I placed the phone to my ear.

“Hey gorgeous,” Lee responded. His voice had a warm tone that lit a flame deep in my stomach. The smile on my face broadened. “I hope you weren’t too disappointed when you woke up this morning.”

“I may have been if you hadn’t left that note,” I admitted. “I’ll admit I thought you’d both walked out on me.”

“Oh, hell no, we wouldn’t risk getting in your bad book,” Lee assured me. “And Dale and I want to make it up to you. We’d like to take you out tonight.”

“Well I’m definitely not going to complain about that,” I replied with a smirk. “Where are you taking me?”

“You’ll have to wait and see.” Lee’s voice was filled with mystery and I couldn’t wait to see what they had planned. The nerves were back again—only this time they were butterflies fluttering happily away in my stomach.

“I guess I’ll see you both later then.” I bit my lip to stop from asking him to give me a clue. I usually hated surprises but right now I was attempting to embrace it.

“Come on, Rhea, get off the phone to lover boy so we can finish shopping!” Kate suddenly yelled across the shop.

“Where are you? Was that Kate?” Lee asked. His voice was tinted with suspicion. “Sounds like you two are having fun.”

“She’s having fun.” I couldn’t help but laugh at the way Kate had picked up a demo dildo and was gyrating with it close to her most intimate area. “I’m just along for the ride.”

“Well I look forward to seeing whatever you buy tonight.” Lee gave a mwahsound down the phone as though he was blowing me a kiss and I returned the gesture

“I’ll see you tonight,” I repeated.

“Love you, Rhea.” Lee’s words caused that familiar flutter deep in my gut

“Love you, Lee,” I responded. “Have a good day.”

Reluctantly I put the phone down and returned to my insane roommate in the sex toy section of the shop.

“What did you pick?” I asked when I noticed that she already had a bag wrapped around her arm.

“You’ll have to wait and see.” She winked at me. “I’m not having you chicken out and returning it.”

“I need to pay for this,” I pointed out lifting the dildo box I’d been holding during my entire conversation with Lee.

“No need, I grabbed one off the shelf for you.” She smirked at me. “Go ahead and pop that one back and we’ll go find you a killer dress to go with your new underwear.” 15

It wasn’t until we got home that Kate finally allowed me to look in the bag at what she’d picked out for me. My heart stopped when I saw the leather corset and thong-set she’d decided upon.

“You hate it, don’t you?” she questioned when she saw how pale my face had gone.

“No, it’s not that.” I shook my head. “I just don’t think I can pull that off.”

“Well once you’re in it you won’t be getting it off without some help.” Kate winked.
