72- A certain controlled chaos

Rebeca

The house was in an uproar, now that Anastasia has left the house, the power game is apparently over and I've established myself as the mistress of the house and as such, almost all the staff are afraid that I'll throw them out on the street, they're working hard to keep their jobs and that's good, now that they know where the power really lies, they won't be able to divide themselves anymore, they know who they have to serve and that will solidify my position, of course, they don't even know what's coming, I just hope no one gets hurt, it would be a shame if someone died too, I'll try to be careful enough so that nothing happens to them and everything I have planned is just a bit of controlled chaos.

I deliberately ordered most of them to tidy up, except for Anastasia and Dante's rooms, claiming that I would like to take a quiet look afterwards, if there was anything left that she wanted to be sent afterwards. When Vladimir arrived, I let him in and chatted quietly, said I didn't want to be disturbed and made the whole thing sound like I was talking about implementing a new security system, took her into the office and showed her the plans of the house in detail, we talked about things that to other people's eyes would seem like just an ordinary conversation between two people who are working together, however, all the questions asked, had questions that needed to be answered and in a veiled way, I handed over all the information necessary for this.

I invited him to dinner and he readily accepted. Sebastian was a little suspicious at first, but soon the two of them were talking about business and things like that and the atmosphere was relaxed while we ate. Vladimir left not long afterwards and following the same routine as always, I chatted a bit with Sebastian while having a glass of wine and we went up to the bedroom, where we had a shower, had sex in the bathroom, he dried my hair and soon after we lay down on the bed, I took a brief look at the time just as the lights were turned off and started the countdown, it won't be long before all the commotion starts.

I sighed deeply and relaxed waiting for the big moment, it was some time before I began to smell something faint in the air, I knew immediately that this was the moment, Sebastian was sleeping peacefully next to me and I smiled at how handsome he is, his hair thick and soft, his nose straight and beautiful, his lips that even in sleep seem to be slightly tilted to the side in a small sarcastic smile.

I love this man. I ruffled my hair slightly and rubbed my eyes, put on my best sleepy expression and pretended to get out of bed. I walked out of the bedroom after covering my naked body and went down to the kitchen, took things out of the fridge and made a quick sandwich, ate it all quickly and went back the same way, as I climbed the stairs, it was already possible to see the result of my efforts, I prepared myself for the big moment, filled my lungs with air and shouted with all my might.

\- FIRE! FIRE! - I screamed in desperation and ran into the bedroom immediately.

I rushed up to the bed and shook Sebastian, who woke up with a jump and was completely on guard.

\- What the hell, Rebecca! - he muttered hoarsely.

\- There's no time, the house is on fire, we have to leave right now. - I said hurriedly.

Just like me, Sebastian covered his body with a robe and quickly got up with his cell phone and called the fire department. Chaos had already broken out in the place and everyone was running around, the fire was coming through the window and the smoke was taking over the house little by little. I watched from the lawn as the firemen put out the blaze, Sebastian was by my side, warming me up in the cold night, and as soon as everything was safe, a fireman approached us.

\- We managed to get the fire under control, fortunately, it was discovered early on, otherwise it would have spread quickly and become something of major proportions and with a high chance of death by asphyxiation, as the thick smoke would have affected anyone who was sleeping. - he says.

\- Do you know where the fire started? - Sebastian asks.

\- No, the police are investigating now, you were very lucky. - he says.

\- Yes, I was hungry and went downstairs to get a sandwich. I got really scared when I saw all the smoke, I was afraid something was going to happen to us. Just thinking that it could have been worse makes me very scared. - I whimper in Sebastian's arms and he holds me tight.

\- Don't worry, ma'am, everything will be fine. I recommend that you find somewhere else to sleep for the time being, it's not possible to stay here, the remaining smoke and soot could be too much for such a delicate lady. - the man says in a worried tone and I just nod and watch him walk away.

Ward appears in his sleeping clothes, he's sleeping somewhere in this house, he looks tired as ever.

\- What are we going to do, sir? - he asks.

\- Take care of the situation, all the police who are here work for us, I want them to find out what the hell this was. I'll take Rebeca to my apartment, call me if you need anything. - let me know.

\- There's only one thing I've noticed about this case. - Ward comments casually. - It seems that the fire started in the ward where Anastasia and Dante were, do you think it has something to do with those two? - he asks.

Sebastian pondered for a moment, gave me a quick glance and then turned back to the scene in front of us.

\- It's possible. I don't know anyone crazy enough to burn my house down except my family. - he mutters.

\- That's what I thought. Don't worry, I'll take care of everything here, I'll call you if anything important comes up. - he says.

Sebastian nods, grabs a car and drives us away. We drive in silence and I close my eyes and breathe in the clean air, free of smoke and ash. I sighed peacefully and for a few minutes I dozed off until I felt Sebastian pick me up and hold me carefully in his arms.

He took me in silence to the apartment I already know, the same one he brought me to when he made me agree to marry him, I remember this place perfectly, even though I was furious and devastated, I remember everything I saw here and what I felt. Fortunately, circumstances are different now and I can rest easy.

As soon as Sebastian set me down, his gaze rested on me for a moment and then he sighed.

\- Was it you? - he asks.
