Chapter # 99
I was staying with my sons for the night, being with them to help them relax so that I was here and they could sleep.
It might take a few months for our mansion to be rebuilt so we had to live in this place.
I resented the thought of allowing any traumatic experience to ruin their lives.
For fuck’s sake, they were only five as I hoped they forget whatever happened in their upcoming years.
‘Please keep my home safe from an evil eye,’ I prayed hopelessly, spending the night with them.
The next morning, I did some formalities with the cops.
Paid for the loss, handled a few meetings, not leaving my boys side for a heartbeat, Anthony was following my shadow as Matthew was on the bed.
I was downstairs with Anthony who asked innocently.
“What are you going to do now, Papa?”
“You don’t have to worry about it, son, I will get Mama back,” I whispered.
Placing my hand over his head as he hummed, hugging me.
As we were in the hall, I was immersed in my unwanted thoughts, gathering my perception to decide what I must do next as Lucas came.
“Alpha,”
“Hmm?”
Keeping a disquiet face, he informed me about the undesirable arrival.
“Alpha Armiz is here,”
Knitting my brows with discontent, I rose from my seat with sternness etching on my face, not preferring his presence in my house.
“Tell him he is not welcomed-”
“And who are you to tell me that?”
But nonetheless, he entered in his usual dominant form. His crimson eyes gleaming with malice. Wearing an all black attire.
In a black shirt and pants, holding his head high, entering after emitting a fatal aura and that menacing smirk.
“Papa,” Anthony, afraid, held me rigidly.
Armiz without a doubt held the capability of frightening the ones around him, always indulging in asserting his dominance.
But, surprisingly when he saw Anthony, he vanished the thick tension he created, dropping his heavy aura and tilting his head.
“Huh?”
Leaning to his side, he saw Anthony who gasped in fear to see him as I placed my hand over his head to allow him to hold.
He made an almost crying face while I was bewildered at what made that bastard lower his malice until he shifted to his knees and smiled unexpectedly.
“My, my, isn’t that your son? Which one? Anthony or Matthew?” He asked, holding his hand out to him.
Tone changed into a softer one, moving forward to get a better glimpse of his face as Anthony shut his eyes in fear but I ruffled his hair.
“He is Anthony,”
He paused, glancing timidly at me, not sure what to do as I passed him a nod because I knew.
By all means, he won’t hurt my sons or me.
“I see. Nice to meet you, young man, how are you?”
“Fine…”
“You are exactly like your father. He used to be like you in his childhood too,”
“Really…?”
“Yeah,”
“Why are you here?” I asked.
Frowning, not preferring his closeness with my son as he took out a chocolate from his pocket and offered it to Anthony.
“Here, take it,”
He paused but after my approval, he took it and looked down.
“Who… are you?” Anthony asked timidly, not sure if to consider him a friend or to be afraid of him.
“I am Armiz,” He smiled, placing his hand over his head to reduce his worry and got up.
“And I am here to see your brother, I heard something really bad happened to him,”
He declared and no matter how unfavorable it sounded, I knew I must take him along in order to know the depth of the wound.
Matthew had been sobbing in pain for a while now, it was not reducing that made me worried.
Although I thought Armiz wouldn't bother to involve himself but unpredictably he did and arrived to check my son.
I cleared my throat, motioned him to follow, “Come with me,”
“I heard he fought with Kyle, how valorous of him,” He praised him and no doubt that made me smirk proudly.
“Well, he is my son after all,”
He smirked back, taunting me, “I think we should blame it on genes,”
I scoffed, rolling my eyes, “Whatever,”
We entered the room where Matthew was lying unconscious, curled like a ball, hoping to suppress the pain in his eyes.
The second Armiz’s eyes fell on him, it shrunk with compassion. I was taken aback to find his attachment towards my children while holding bloodlust for me.
Curling his hand in a fist, he jaw clenched, growling under his breath.
“Kyle shouldn't have brought kids into this matter,”
“You are the one who provoked him after all,” I ridiculed.
Reminding him that we were equally involved in the sin while I was the only person paying for the deeds.
“Aren’t we his culprits in the first place?”
“Then why should I suffer only?!” I unintentionally snapped, losing my composure in his presence.
Waking up Matthew as well that made Armiz glare at me to not fight before him but mindless and frustrated from the horrible events in my life, I continued painfully.
“You are equally involved in the monstrosity but why do I have to pay for ‘our’ actions!?”
“Because you are younger and you are under my debt,”
“Fuck you and your debt, asshole,”
“Language, Denzel, one should never curse before kids,” Armiz sighed.
Waving his hand to shut me off and walked towards Matthew who was hissing while hugging his blankets.
I glared, only if it wasn’t to get his eyes checked, I wouldn’t bother to spend two moments with him.
Ignoring me as well, he walked closer and placed his hand over Matthew’s head.
“Hey champ, I am Armiz, I am here to check your eyes. It is hurting a lot?” He asked in a gentle voice, undoing the bandage to reveal a scar on his left eyes.
“Mhm,” He nodded weakly, making a crying face.
He brought his hand to cover the scar but Armiz didn’t let him, inspecting the wound from up close.
“Can it recover?” I asked worriedly.
“I have to take a look,”
“Can you try to open your eyes, Matthew?” Armiz asked softly, holding his hand firmly to convince him.
“No, it will hurt!”
“But, you want it to heal, don’t you?” I whispered, sitting beside him and holding his shoulder.
“I do but…”
“Please,”
“Come on, try. Only for a second,” I insisted.
Hesitant, he turned to me, Armiz knew for him to do it alone would be hard so I had to force it open.
“Denzel, make him open his eyes,”
I swallowed hard but after taking a glimpse, he could recommend some herbs or medicines for the speedy recovery or else watching my son whimper in pain was too much for me.
Inhaling sharply, I forced his eyes to open, revealing the blood in them and the scar and it took him a heartbeat to scan.
“Argh! It’s hurting!” Matthew wailed as I let him go and pulled him into a hug.
“So what is it?”
“Hmm. It wasn’t too deep. His sight is saved, he will recover but I am not sure about the scar. I can recommend some remedy for it,” He sighed, giving him a chocolate as well to lift his mood.
“See. It only took a moment and you will heal too,” Armiz smiled, rising from his seat to leave.
“Are you leaving?”
“No, not yet, I want to spend some time with your sons,”
“You are not-”
“I didn’t ask you. I am downstairs with Anthony,” He enunciated, not listening to me and left me as I wiped Matthew’s tears, kissing his hand.
“Here, you are a brave boy. You did an amazing job, son,” I whispered sincerely, which made him stop his sobbing and glance at me.
“Really…?”
Nodding, I wrapped my arms around my lionhearted son.
“Yes. You are strong, Matthew,”
