Chapter # 107

PRESENT

ELIANA’S POV:-

I feel like I am forgetting something, something extremely important.

What could it be?

Holding my chin with a constant frown plastered on my lips, I was deep in ponders, my mind was vague.

All remembered waking up in this mansion with a spell cast on me.

I was looking out of the window with Armiz, the one who informed me about everything and regarded himself as my ‘caretaker,’.

“Do you think he will come?”

I asked in a murmur, holding the hem of my dress, waiting for the one who could undo this spell.

“Yes, he will, definitely,” He nodded strongly.

“What happened to me? What is wrong with my memories?”

“The villain of your tale doesn’t want you to be with him forever. Perhaps he is jealous your love,”

He chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his neck.

“Who is he? Who hates my lover?”

“You will know it soon enough,”

I had no idea what happened.

My memories of the one who existed at the center were hazy, my head was throbbing and all I could do was wait.

“What if I mistake him for the wrong person?” I whispered, distressed to perceive taking a wrong or hasty action.

“Why don’t you trust your feelings?” He raised his eyebrows playfully.

“Hmm, but…”

Ending in a sigh, my eyes were seeking outside, dying to catch a glimpse of one who had become my day and night.

Frightened, he might not be infuriated that I forgot him.

What if he never came in that rage?

How could I face him after forgetting?

I was disturbed and upon noticing my dismay, Armiz ended up laughing a little, teasing my tense state.

“To love and to lose is devastating, right?”

“Who doesn’t lose the one they love?”

Bewildered, I turned him gradually with an obvious response which wiped his smirk.

“What?”

“Losing parents, siblings, friends, family, even children, they are all people we love but also lose at some point,”

I shrugged my shoulders, affixed my eyes outside again, wondering what he must look like.

A prince charming, perhaps?

“I say who is in this world without pain so why hurt others for your loneliness? Would it heal?” I chuckled dryly.

“I thought you are a dumb one,”

“I learned a lot from someone, I grew up with him, he taught me everything,”

He was there, with me, holding me, cherishing me, loving me, that much, I knew. But who it was, I didn’t.

“He used to help me in tennis, in studies and all matters…. I always looked up to him, he was my ideal, my inspiration,”

“Who?”

“I can’t remember. Must be because of that damn spell,”

And it was stabbing my very soul to be ignorant of the foundation of my soul and this asshole Armiz was not helping at all.

“Don’t worry, it’s temporary,”

“Don’t you think it’s wrong, Armiz?”

“Hmm?”

“To hurt others for what you failed to achieve,”

“Who knows? People live by hatred and get blind by it,” He sighed.

Getting up to leave me alone in my hopeless state where I was awaiting for my beloved to arrive as I muttered sourly under my breath.

“How weak of them,”

Later, me and Armiz were in the garden, sharing a cup of tea in silence until I sensed a familiar presence approaching us.

“Oh, your brother is here,”

Pointing, I turned to Armiz who growled at his arrival, certainly not pleased.

“Is everything okay between you two? You guys were fighting the other day,” I asked worriedly, not liking his discontent.

“Nothing serious, it happens,” He scoffed, shrugging it off and got up to leave, leaving the tea as well.

“Where are you going?”

“I don’t want to see him,”

“Why?”

I frowned as he growled, reflecting a strong string and disliking in his eyes that left me in questioning.

“I just don’t prefer to soil my eyes with his glimpse.”

“Armiz-”

After Armiz walked away, tilting my head in confusion, I was staring at the man with piercing gray eyes approaching me.

“What’s with them?”

Humming to myself, I saw him watching his brother leave from the corner of his eyes with a glare perhaps.

I wonder what was between these brothers and considering it not my concern, I remained silent until he stopped before me.

Discarding his brother’s presence, he turned to me gradually with a sigh and waved his hand gently.

“Hey,”

“Hey, Armiz just left. Do you want to see him?”

Smiling back feebly, I asked ambiguously, not sure what else to speak although he had already glared at him.

“I doubt he would want to see me,”

He chuckled faintly, shaking his head in denial.

“Why? Is everything between you two?”

“When is something in my life okay in the first place?”

He muttered inaudibly under his breath but I heard it nonetheless.

Forming my lips in a thin line, I looked away awkwardly until he decided to sit on the other bench.

“Anyways, leave it, how are you? Are you a new member of the pack?” He asked nonchalantly.

Sparking a conversation while taking out a cigarette and exhaling the smoke in the air that smelled disgusting.

“What? No.”

I continued smiling, covering my nose with my sleeve to hold the scent back which he noticed immediately and blew it out.

“Oh, sorry, didn’t mean to disturb you,” He apologized quickly, sweetly.

“No, no, it’s alright,”

I was taken aback when at my one discomfort he blew the cigarette and ate a peppermint and offered me one as well to annihilate the smell.

“Thanks,”

I took one and sheepishly looked away, tugging my hair behind my ear.

He might have looked intimidating with a scary aura but his soft gesture was no doubt heartwarming and sweet.

“So… what brings you here?” He asked again.

I wasn’t sure about divulging about that damn spell yet something inside me indicated telling him won’t harm me so trusting him, I leaned back on my seat and said in a lowered tone.

“It’s just… I am waiting for someone,”

He blinked, “Who?”

“I don’t know,”

“How are you supposed to know?”

“I don’t know that either,”

Ending in a disappointing sigh, I incline my elbow on the armrest, mumbling to myself.

“I am only waiting,”

Not realizing he leaned closer, his face closed distances, but not locking those eyes on me, rather my… neck?

Knitting a brow handsomely with a husky question that made my heart skip a beat.

“And for how long do you intend to wait?”

Surprisingly, not vexed, placing my hand over my heart, the next words came from the bottom of my heart, sincerely.

“Till my last breaths,”

“What?”

“I feel so hollow, so horrible, so incomplete and I doubt a replacement could fill that void in my heart. I want the one ripped from my memories,”

He got back, tilting his head adorably that compelled me to lock my eyes to his handsome features, certainly out of my league.

While I was admiring his features, I whispered unintentionally.

“Wherever, however he is, I know he will come to me,”

“How?”

“I said I don’t know,” I whined.

“Okay, okay, sorry,”

He laughed a little, putting his hand up defensively when I ended up puffing.

I was glaring at him which vanquished at his one wink, maybe out of playfulness but it enhanced my heartbeats.

He got, those broad shoulders and a sly smirk, he was no doubt eye-catching but those eyes respectably didn’t meet mine.

“Anyways, since Armiz is not coming, I think I should leave,”

He cleared his throat, still not meeting my eyes keenly observing his elegant form and waved.

“And I hope you find whoever you are searching for, Eliana,”

And then he gave me a prayer which brought a deep blush on my cheeks-

“May he enters your life to never leave it again,”

“Mhm!”

What a beautiful prayer, becoming flushed at those earnest words, I nodded with a grin.

Trusting his words, holding faith in my lover that he won't ever leave me in any condition.

He smirked at my determined grin and turned to leave.

“Bye, take care,”

“You too, Denzel,”

I watched him leave, noticing his posture, the head held high and demeanor as some thought evoked in my mind unwillingly-

‘Maybe… maybe he knows who I am talking about.’
