Revenge
Revenge
Noah
We arrived in Moscow, I bought sunglasses and hoodies to change, and a pair of empty suitcases. We would leave these with the wolves who were going to replace us. We rented two cars, one of them with a fake ID. We left the real suitcases in this car. And we parked it four blocks from the hotel.
I got into the other car with the fake suitcases, which was driven by Rebeca.
We went unrecognizable to a large hotel. We parked, checked in, and went to the room. I went down and called the two wolves who were going to replace us. They were checking out. We exchanged the suitcases. They left with the empty suitcases.
I went to the restaurant, 15 minutes later, they came back for lunch at the hotel restaurant. I gave them IDs with our names on them. They would stay in our room where I had already placed their suitcases. Rebecca and I had lunch and left the hotel restaurant as if we were them, and the couple went to our room, as if they were us.
The first part of the plan was ready. Rebecca and the wolf went to the restaurant bathroom together and one passed the wig they were wearing to the other. Rebecca handed over the room key.
When they came out of the bathroom, they sat at each other's tables, and we asked for the bill together. When we left the restaurant, Rebecca left with me and the wolf followed her companion to the room we had rented.
We traveled by car to the countryside. Our last information was that the vampire was in a cave in a region near Krasnoiarsk.
We walked for two days until we found a cave with signs of having been inhabited. He must have stayed there for a while, feeding on animals.
Now that we were close, I wanted to convince her to let me go alone.
“Don’t even think about it. I can feel you wanting to protect me, but I need to see if you’re a man again. I want him dead, preferably by my hands.” She was right.
I kissed her forehead. “Shall we rest and continue early tomorrow morning?”, she asked. “No. He may have gone to the city, but he may come back here. At night he is strong. We need to stay alert. We will only rest during the day, when he is sleeping,” I said.
Beca understood. We rested our bodies, but our minds were alert. Any smell or sound would be noticed.
When the dawn was ending and dawn was arriving. We fell asleep, knowing it was safe.
Around lunchtime we woke up. I tried to find my way around on a map, the distance to the village wasn’t far. We needed to check there.
The city looked like a village, it was small and had three bars. They were all the fun the place had to offer.
We got a room in a cheap inn, but the place was extremely clean.
After a quick shower, we had a good meal. Our hearing asked us to hear someone mourning the strange death of two girls.
Three days had passed. Soon, he would attack again. We had to block our scents and stay alert. He was around.
Rebeca
We discussed a plan. I would play the role of the woman alone at the bar. Noah would blend in with the people to give me cover when he approached me.
My partner would need to control his jealousy, in case any human approached. That was it. Let the vampire take me to a secluded place. I had the special vampire venom. He would be weak, confused and I or Noah could rip his head off. I even had a wooden stake inside my boot for an emergency.
Noah passed a message to the Tasmanian Devils, the lycan reinforcement was close, but it wouldn't arrive tonight.
I carefully placed the venom in a ring, in a pendant. On the tip of my dagger and still on the tip of the stake. I thought it might still take two or three nights to find him.
We had to try two bars, he would hardly return to the first one.
From what the humans had said, the girls had last been seen at the Pub bar, so we ruled that one out. We would go to Moskva first and then to Medved, which meant bear.
Jay, it was two in the morning and the damn thing hadn't shown up. Noah first walked slowly towards Medved, he turned a corner and waited for me to pass him, I was almost at the bar when I saw him leave the establishment. A blonde woman of about 40 was with him. I was thinking about what to do and I think I froze for a few seconds. Noah called me mentally. "Go into the bar, you're not ready to face him. Come on, Rebeca!" I couldn't lose him.
"No! Noah, please, I'll ask them for a ride." My companion yelled at me. “It won’t work, don’t screw it up. I’ll follow him. Get an idea of where he is.”
I stood at the door of the bar, as if I was waiting for someone. Noah walked to the street where the vampire got into the car and he got on a motorcycle parked on the street. That was it, he was going to follow him. I was quick and got on the back of the bike.
He scolded but concentrated on getting the motorcycle in place with a makeshift solution and followed the car. It wasn’t long before we saw the vehicle park in front a house. We passed by. Two blocks later. We parked the motorcycle.
Now we knew the house where he was hiding. My conscience didn't want to leave the girl there, she would certainly be another victim. Noah said that I was getting in the way, that it would be great to know that he would sleep there during the day, and so we thought about killing him easily. But I was a woman, I wasn't going to count on a peaceful life if I didn't try to save that innocent girl. This feeling was bigger than me. We spent a few minutes arguing about it.
Noah wanted me to leave and he would go into the house, probably of some other victim of his, and then he would catch him with the element of surprise.
He would shoot him with a poisoned bullet. It wouldn't kill him, but it would weaken him to the point of leaving him vulnerable. It could be a good plan, but we would have to do it together. But the woman's life would be lost, or I could ring the doorbell, say that it was my friend's house, that I was passing by and decided to say hi. This would distract him and I could mentally tell him everything that was happening inside the house and the exact time Noah came in.
And I did something dangerous that I hoped I wouldn't regret because I know what it's like to have one regret in life.
