The fight for my child
RYAN'S POV..
Josh and I had gone out for a few drinks, " it's funny, Ryan who would have thought that Sophie was this rich." He said as we drank along that night. It been all over the news that Sophie has assumed the new office as the CEO of her father's company and it was the talk of the town.
" I am going to get my child back." I told Josh, " How do you expect to do that? You took her to court remember and did not appear." Josh said in a mocking tone as he reminded me how I had sued Sophie and did not showed up for the hearing.
" I told you I couldn't." I responded, worry laced in my voice, "Why?" He asked me laughing hysterically.
" Well, I can't tell you that." I responded as I took a sip of the drink again. I had made up my mind I was going to try to get my child again but since I had ruined my chances with the legal system, I was not going to go through that route.
I was just going to use my own way to fight for it, even though it might not be the best approach.
I wanted to to see my child at least once, to hold her in my arms and tell her that I loved her. I had the right as the father to the child, didn't I? I thought to myself.
The pain of not being able to be with her every day is unbearable and overwhelming. As the night grew darker, the weight of my decisions weighed heavily on me. Wasnt it worth risking everything for a chance to be a part of her life?
The loud music and laughter in the bar couldn't drown out the thoughts that consumed my mind. I took another sip of my drink, trying to numb the pain and confusion. Should I continue fighting for my child or should I let go? I thought to myself. The battle within me raged on as I struggled to find an answer. Deep down, I knew that seeing my child once would give me strength, but at what cost?
" "What are you thinking about?" Josh asked me interrupting my thoughts, " I am thinking about how to get my daughter back." I responded absent- mindedly.
" What do you want to do?" He asked me curiosly, peering into my eyes as he spoke, "I am not sure yet." I told him as I thought about what to do.
As we sat in the dimly lit bar, I drank through the nights, drowning my sorrows in the glass of whiskey. The news of Sophie taking on a new role at the office had hit me hard, reminding me once again of the child I longed to hold in my arms, making it even difficult to reach her now. She had influence and money, how was I supposed to fight her now?
As the music blared and laughter echoed around me, I couldn't escape the tormenting thoughts that plagued my mind. Should I continue down this path of uncertainty and risk losing everything? Or should I accept defeat and let go of the hope that consumed me? The battle within me raged on, tearing at my heart with each passing moment.
With each sip of whiskey, the weight of my decisions grew heavier. I couldn't help but feel like I was drowning in a sea of uncertainty and doubt.
The sound of laughter and music became nothing more than background noise, as my mind was consumed with thoughts of my daughter. How could I give up on her? How could I let Sophie's newfound power and influence stand in the way? No, I couldn't accept defeat just yet. Sophie was still the same timid girl, I knew. No matter how much money she has know, I knew she could be frightened.
A thought came into my mind, " Josh, let's kidnap her." I blurted out not thing about the repercussion of what I had just said.
Josh covered my mouth as he looked at me in shock, " Don't let anyone hear you." He said as he looked about the room suspiciously to see if anyone was listening in on our conversation. Everyone seemed engrossed in their drinks and partners. Reassured he turned to me again.
" What Ryan, are you crazy?" his eyes widening with disbelief. "Kidnap her? Are you out of your mind, Ryan?" he exclaimed. I could see the fear and concern etched on his face as he processed my words. But deep down, I knew that this might be our only chance to get my child back.
" I am not, but do you have a better idea?" I asked him bluntly.
"I don't, but one thing I am sure of is that kidnapping is not the answer," Josh said sternly. He understood my desperation, but he couldn't condone such a risky and illegal plan. We needed to find another way, a more strategic approach that would give us a fighting chance. He told me.
As the night wore on and my thoughts became more clouded by alcohol, I couldn't help but feel the weight of desperation settle in. Kidnapping seemed like an outrageous idea, but what other choice did I have? A life with my daughter's was at stake, and I was willing to do whatever it took to ensure her safety and happiness.
I did not respond to Josh any more, I had decided that I was going to get my daughter back whatever it took and there seemed to be no other ideas forth coming. " Ryan I hope you are not considering that?" He asked, concern in his voice as he noticed how quiet I had become, " of course not. We would find a better approach." I told him as we continued to drink.
The weight of desperation settled heavily upon me as I sat there, contemplating the dangerous path ahead. With each sip of whiskey, courage welled up inside me - an unwavering determination that no obstacle could quell. If the legal system wouldn't grant me access to my child, then maybe it was time for unconventional measures. Kidnapping sounded extreme even to myself, but when one has nothing left to lose.. I had made my decision but I was not going to tell Josh about it since he was not in with me.
