"No, please. I don't want to go." I grumbled and covered myself all over with the duvet, not wanting to get into this subject that Sue was proposing to me; going out to a club was the last thing I wanted to do at that moment. Why wouldn't she leave me alone here in this bed until I died for good… But my friend pulled the duvet off of me, not so affectionately, causing me to curse and cringe at having my body exposed to the fresh air of the room so suddenly.
"Don't do that, kitten. You're going to get out of this bed, okay? How long do you intend to stay like this?"
"Until the rest of my life, if that's possible." I groaned again, hugging the pillow. "Or until the time I die."
"So you, Lily Stark. Who was always cheerful and smiling? You'll only meet this despicable end if I let you, my angel." Sue grabbed my arm and pulled me out of bed without much care.
"Oh, stop. You crazy person." I groan, disgruntled, as she pulls me along.
"I won't allow you to sink deeper, so I won't stop." She pulled me to my feet and started dragging me into the bathroom. "Go get that dead rat smell off you, wash your hair, and then get dressed in the little outfit I bought you, got it? Do it; I'll be waiting for you in the room. And I don't take no for an answer." She demanded it from me, and I rolled my eyes. She had infectious makeup on her face, she was wearing a short skirt and a revealing top, she was already ready to go to a club to get dressed. Have fun.
She was trying so hard all these days to try to cheer me up, but most of the time everything was in vain, and I still insisted on continuing in this deep depression of my ex-boss, so I thought about it; it was time to do something to make her think I was getting excited, because that's the only way she got excited. I didn't want to make my friend sad just by seeing me sad, so I sighed and nodded. "Okay, give me time to take a shower." She gave a big smile along with a big hug and a kiss on the cheek.
"Love you. Stay beautiful and stunning." She said that and left the room, so I went to the bathroom to take that blessed shower.
After a while, I was wearing a skimpy black body-hugging dress that flattered, accentuated, and enhanced my few curves, and the dress also accentuated my skin tone. The dress had a plunging neckline that left my breasts almost bouncing out. Sue did a flat iron on my red hair, leaving it straight, which practically made my hair double in length. The makeup she put on me was heavy; there was eyeliner around my eyes and a dark red lipstick on my mouth. The high heels on mine were high but still comfortable, all of which, combined with a small silver chain shoulder bag, made my look more complete.
"Girlfriend, you look a knockout." Sue spoke full blown in admiration after seeing me ready. "I feel so sorry for that idiot Garrett in here for losing a big woman like you." I smiled a little after hearing that, I was still sad about what had happened between me and Garrett, but today I was willing to move on with my life. Then I lifted my head and took a deep breath.
"Today I don't want to know about Garrett Ward, today I want to know only about me!" I spoke firmly and my friend celebrated.
"That's the spirit!" So she and I left the house.

The club was filled with young people everywhere, the electronic music was so loud in the room that I could almost feel my ears popping. People were dancing and drinking, there was a DJ mixing the sounds on a platform in front of the dance floor. My friend led me over to the bar where we sat down and she proceeded to order drinks. I wasn't much of a drinker, also because with the sensitive work I had to take care of children, I had to stay away from alcoholic beverages because otherwise that would be a big oversight, but when I was off duty or it was a commemorative date and Sue would take me out with somefriends, I also drank with him, but nothing exaggerated, just enough to enjoy the moment. But today was different, today I wanted to drink so much and do so much stupid things that I didn't want to recognize myself the next day.
"Today this place is booming, look how many kittens are showing up here." The Bartender spoke as soon as he saw us approach the counter, he had a sly smile on his face as he looked from me to Sue. Sue and I laughed at him.
"I'll let you know right away that I'm not available, but my friend here needs to meet new people." She was already handing me over bluntly.
"Sue!" I scolded her a little embarrassed.
"It doesn't matter, I love redheads too." The naughty man who was standing on the other side of the bar, oozed malice while sweeping his gaze all over my body until it stopped on my face, there was so much malice in his gaze that I even thought he would jump over the counter that separated us to come soon mekiss, I bit my lip with that image in my head. His guy was tall and strong, and had a very attractive crooked smile, the way he was expertly and deftly mixing drinks made me imagine what it would be like to have those hands around my waist. I didn't even know the guy, but I couldn't deny that I was feeling attracted to him. It seems that Sue was right when she said that I needed to maintain an active love life from now on. I looked at her who was still by my side, she was now looking at me with a look that said 'take advantage of that bofe, friend' Then I smiled at the guy.
"For now I just want a drink." I replied mildly, but with a tone that suggested something more. I could just want a drink now, but some time later I could want something more... The Bartender approached me putting both hands on the counter to bring his face closer to mine, with that act I could subtly read his name on the badge that was attached to his blouse at the time ofbreastplate, his name is Rick. Even his name was attractive.
"You just stole all my attention tonight, sweetheart." He spoke softly just for me to hear, I smiled at the act, it was good to know that I had captured the attention of such a handsome man. "I'm going to pour you the best drink I have, kitten. I'm going to take care of this drink."
"Perfect for me too, I want that special drink too." I heard a third voice right behind me, I couldn't believe it when I realized how much that voice sounded like someone I knew, my eyes widened slightly in astonishment and when I turned around. It was him right behind me staring at the Bartender with his jaw set. It was Garrett Ward, none the less.
