Chapter 22.

Chapter 22.

“What did you say?” My temper boiling, but I kept my one deadly calm.

“About what?” His voice was tight but I could hear a twinge of worry in it.

His ignorance made me wanted to smack him. Hard. All the lust and happiness I felt only a moment ago disappeared.

“Turn the car around. Drop me of at my apartment.”

His head snapped towards mine and clenched his jaw when he saw how angry I was.

“That’s where we’re going.”

“No. We are going to your place. Not mine. You never asked me.” I turned towards him, not being able to reign in my temper any longer. “Who the fuck gave you the permission to make this choice for me?”

“The thought of not being with you every night encouraged me make this decision. I love you Maya and I want you with me all the time.” His voice might have soft and made me melt a bit but it wasn’t enough to forgive hm.

“Oh buzz off Elijah. All you had to do was ask and I would have said yes. Because the thought of not being with you every night messes up my brain too.”

“Really?” His hopeful voice and happiness filled eyes didn’t distract me from displaying my point. Sort of.

“I’m not finished.” I snapped. My mind swirled with anger and a hint of desperation that he understood where I stood with his decision. I tried to soften my voice, choosing another tactic.

“Elijah please try to understand what I’m saying. You didn’t ask me. You took that decision from me.” Tears well up my eyes, thinking maybe I was overreacting but my past would leave me alone. The fear always resided in the corner of my brain. Elijah is my only saving grace. My haven and I need to be able to go to him to run away from my demons.

I felt us stopping and I lifted my eyes to see the car stop sideways. Elijah’s eyes drilled into me but I still couldn’t look at him. Not wanting my brokenness so in the open.

“Angel look at me.” I closed my eyes instead, fighting for some strength. I immediately got it as soon as I felt a hand clasp my chin, shifting my eyes towards him. As soon as my eyes met his. It was like all restrains broke free. He swooped into me, or maybe it was me who initiated it but we were on each other. Our lips on a battle and neither of us wanting it to finish.

After what felt like ages, we drifted apart and somehow I found myself of Elijah’s lap. His arms tightly binding us together.

“I’m sorry” His voice breaking the silence that was only filled with our heavy breathings. His eyes told me understood and that was enough for now.

I lifted my hands and place them on his cheeks and placed my forehead on his. Need to touch him was so much.

“My need to have you overshadowed every other thought and I didn’t think about how you would feel about it and I will always regret that. Angel please forgive me.” The anguish in his voice made me feel like a bitch. And I was willing to fix it.

“Ask me.” I said, my lips turning up in a smile. It felt right. I wanted this too.

His own lips spread in a wide smile and seeing his gorgeous smile a wishful giggle left me. “Move in with me Maya Campbell. Please?”

I reclined until my back touched the steering wheel and lifted my finger, pretending to think about it. Elijah sat there, still that devilish smile on his face. He waiting his own arms lifted behind his head looking relaxed. The bastard knew.

“Of course I will Elijah Frost. All you had to do was ask.”

A sheepish look took place on his face and tensed up. “What?”

“While we’re at the subject of asking. I’d like to ask you to come with me to Paris. Tomorrow.”

My brows furrowed in confusion. “But aren’t we already going. This Thursday for a gala.”

“Yes we were, but I thought why not go early. Have a few days just to ourselves.”

I narrowed my eyes when a thought entered my mind. “You already have the flights booked, don’t you?”

“No. Why would I do that?” But he didn’t meet my eyes and shrugged in a weirdly cute way. “I had my jet fuelled to fly us there.”

“And when did you plan to tell me about it?” My voice was kind of hard and I tried not to laugh at his uncomfortable expression. It was nice to see him squirm once.

“I swear tonight I was going to.” His frantic eyes were way to fun but I decided to take pity on him.

“Fine Mr. Frost. Take me away.”

He let out a huge breathe and nothing but relief filled his face. “I’ll make you so happy angel.”

And cue melted heart. I leaned forward and kissed him softly “You already do Elijah.” I smiled then and whispered “You’ve got me.”

“I’ve got you.” His answering smile was everything I ever wanted.

Entering Elijah’s apartment felt different but same at the same time. Now it wasn’t just his place. It was our home and that was petrifying. Just almost two months ago, I met him and now we’re going to be living together. How life changes drastically. Looking at Elijah now, I would take this change any day. He was worth it.

I didn’t have much time to come accustomed to the fact that this was indeed now my place too before Elijah spin me around and smashed me to the nearest wall, covering my body with his. “Welcome home angel.” Our lips connected in a brutal lock and I had no problem with that.

A wicked gleam occurred in his eyes as he bend forward. I squealed loudly as I was thrown on his shoulder like a pack of potatoes. “What are you doing Elijah? Put me down.” My protests didn’t seem real when my laugh kept interrupting them.

I gasped out loud when I felt a firm sting on my butt cheek. “Hey!”

His answering laughter was louder than I ever heard before and it was then I realized this man is my end. My forever. And I’d always fight for him.

*****

My eyes snapped open as I felt hands all over my body and a magnificent tongue lapping at my cleft. “Oh God!” I moaned as my hand reached down and came in contact with the softest hair one could have.

In a second he was looming over me and plunged hard in me. It was pure animalistic and I loved every second of it.

After catching our breaths, he moved on his elbowed and looked down to me a silly grin on his face. “Good morning, Angel.”

A surge of happiness bloomed inside of me knowing how he woke me up without raising any triggers. It was like even in my sub-consciousness my body knew him. My soul felt so connected to his.

“Morning.” Raising my arms over my head I stretched, arching my back. Causing my bare breast to touch his.

Elijah raised his eyebrows and got on his knees, still in between my legs. He shifted me sideways giving a swift smack on my ass causing me to yelp. “Come on my minx. We need to get some food in you.”

I was about to reply when we heard the front door open and close. Suddenly filled with alarm I got up and looked at Elijah. “Who is that?” I asked because no one could ever Elijah’s floor unless they had a code or permission.

But Elijah had gone stark white. It wasn’t like him to panic in such situations and I placed my arm on his. He jerk back hard and out of my reach. Before I could comprehend what was wrong with him he jumped from the bed and pulled up his sweats and was out of the room without a word or a backwards glance.

I left the bed -still confused and scared with how Elijah reacted and wore the first thing that came in my hands. Which were shaking terribly. Carefully I moved out of room. Trying to not make a sound.

Out in the living room stood Elijah with a woman who seemed weirdly familiar. She was tall. Almost reaching the same height as Elijah in her stilettos. Her blond hair nicely put in a tight bun and she wore one of the tightest dresses ever to exist.

I must have made a sound when both their heads snapped towards me. Where the woman looked utterly calm she had a hard gleam in her eyes. Elijah on the other had looked like he’d be sick any second.

“Elijah. What’s going on? Who’s this?” I took a hesitant step towards them but came to a stop when a smile pulled up on the lady’s lips. A smile that could be describe as nothing but evil.

“Oh honey. You didn’t tell her about me?” Her words were spoken to Elijah but her eyes still on mine. Those cat like eyes intended on mine. Reading every emotion.

I moved my eyes to Elijah. What I saw on his face straightened my spine. Utter defeat but this time his eyes were fixed on mine. Pleading with something I didn’t know.

The woman locked her arm with Elijah’s and I knew the next thing that came out of her mouth will most definitely destroy me. “I’m his wife, Jennifer Frost.”

And that was how Elijah Frost succeed to break every part of my soul.
