Before I could sit on my office chair, Liam and I heard a knock on the door. I sat down anyway and the door opened revealing Henry with a bouquet of roses on his hands as he came and closed the door behind him.

He had a big grin on his face and twitched his brows at me playfully which made me frown. I didn’t understand why he was twitching both his brows at me playfully and grinning widely.

“ What are you doing Henry? “ Liam asked Henry with a blank expression on his face which made Henry immediately comport himself and keep a straight face.

“ Uhm, Sir, these beautiful roses were sent to Mrs Allen, just now, “ Henry said as he walked over to me and gave me the roses.

I looked at them with creased brows wondering who sent them. I knew for sure Lucas wasn’t the one who sent them, then who did? I saw a note on the roses and took it out to read.

“ May I know who sent them? “ Liam asked Henry who nodded his head with a smile.

“ Mr. Silver Grey was the one who sent these flowers for Miss Allen, “ Henry answered.

Hearing him say Silver was the sender made me tense up. I was so shocked to the extent that the note fell from my hands unconsciously due to how shocked I was. Silver sent me flowers? Why? 

It looked like Liam wasn’t happy about it but masked the expression on his face and replaced it with a blank expression.

“ Alright, You May leave, “ He said to Henry whose smile had faltered when he noticed the tension in the atmosphere. Henry turned around and left the office.

“ I’m sorry Sir, I had no idea that he would send me flowers, “ I apologized to Liam because I felt what just happened was inappropriate.

“ You don’t have to explain, Miss Allen, “ Liam said without making eye contact with me. I sighed and opened my laptop to get to work but the note which fell on the table caught my attention.

I wanted to ignore it but I decided to read the content of the note. I picked the note up after turning on my laptop and I began to read the content of the note.

“ I wish you a lovely day at work. Thanks for making our sales triple in just three hours after we posted your pictures and videos. I tried calling you but your phone is off. Take care of yourself, our star model. You are now part of my company’s asset, “ The note read.

I couldn’t help but smile broadly after reading it. No one had ever said such sweet words to me. Silver was indeed a nice guy. I began to wish I was working as his assistant instead of working for Liam.

But I dismissed that wish immediately because it was making me feel ungrateful to Liam. Then I remembered my phone had gotten spoiled and made a mental note to plead with Liam to give me a few minutes to buy a new phone after I had sorted out his schedules for the day.

Suddenly Liam began to cough hysterically which made the broad smile on my face instantly falter and it was replaced with worry as I hurriedly got up. I rushed to the water dispenser in the office and poured water into a cup for Liam.

I rushed to him and fed him the water which he drank. When he finished drinking the water I didn’t even know because we made eye contact for a while. I came back to my senses and cleared my throat.

I moved a safe distance away from him embarrassed that he caught me staring at him. Maya what’s wrong with you didn’t you decide to squash your feelings for this man!! I scolded myself inwardly.

“ I’m sorry Sir, I was just worried that you might choke to death that's why I fed you the water, “ I said to him and avoided eye contact with him.

“ It's fine, Thank you, Miss Allen. You may go back to work now, “ He said to me calmly and I scurried to my chair feeling embarrassed.

I got busy sorting out his schedule the day and we didn’t speak to each other again because he too got busy replying to some business emails.

“ Sir, I’m done with sorting out your schedule for today and you don’t have any meetings today. You only have pending deals you haven’t signed yet and so many came in this morning. I’ll forward them to you right away, “ I said to him and he just nodded his head at me, still focused on whatever he was busy with on his laptop.

Since I was done I decided this was the best time to plead with him to excuse me. Here goes nothing, l said to myself and sighed.

“ Sir, please when I got to work this morning I found out that my phone went off and when I tried to turn it on it didn’t work. The bottom line is that my phone isn’t working anymore and I would appreciate it if you could please pardon me and give me a few minutes to go and buy a new one, “ I said to Liam with a pitiful look on my face.

I hoped he would accept but he didn’t answer me, rather, he took his phone and began typing on it. I waited for him patiently because there was a saying which said that a patient dog eats the fattest born.

“ Done. I’ve ordered a new phone for you online and it will be delivered here in ten minutes, “ Liam said to me with a tight-lipped smile on his face. Was I dreaming or Liam was truly being nice to me?

“ No Sir, Please I can’t accept it, “ I said hurriedly. The tight-lipped smile vanished from his face and was replaced with a frown.

“ But you can accept gifts from Silver, yeah? “ Liam asked me and I lowered my head in embarrassment. 

What was all this about? If I didn’t know the kind of person Liam was I would have said he was acting like a jealous lover.

“ I didn’t mean to reject your gift, Sir, it’s just that I felt like I would be inconveniencing you. I’m sorry, I’ll accept whatever phone you buy for me, “ I said to him with my best smile and he chuckled. 

He looked really handsome whenever he smiled. Especially today, looking at him closely I noticed he was wearing the same color of suit as I was wearing.

We both went back to the various pending works that we had to do while I stole glances at Liam occasionally. But the last I did, we made eye contact but his eyes widened while looking at me.

“ Maya, are you a lucky charm, or you were just born lucky? “ He asked with wide eyes as he looked at his laptop screen then looked at me. I was confused as to what he meant by that.

“ I don’t understand what you mean Sir, “ I said to myself with confusion written all over my face.

“ All the dozens of pending deals you sent to me just now saying they were sent today. Those deals are for you. They want you to be their model!!! “ Liam exclaimed with disbelief as he looked at me.

I froze for a while trying to process what I just heard. If I heard him right he meant that those deals were contracts he and I were supposed to sign so I could model for the companies that sent the contracts. Most of all, did he just address me by my first name?

“ OMG!! “ I exclaimed and covered my mouth. I was beginning to tear up. But these weren’t tears of sorrow, they were tears of joy.

Liam just asked me if I was a lucky charm but the truth was that he was my lucky charm. All the good things I was experiencing in life right now started when I met him.

“ Why are you tearing up? “ He asked with a look of worry making its way to his face and I couldn’t help but sob.

“ These are tears of joy, Sir, “ I said, amidst sobs and he reached out to give me a handkerchief to clean my face. Liam had a look on his face that I couldn’t decipher after I told him this.

Just then a knock was heard on the head and Henry came with a parcel in his hands. He looked at me with furrowed when he noticed I was cleaning tears from my face.

“ Sir, a parcel came in from an Apple phone product company for you, “ Henry said to Liam.

“ Give it to Miss Allen, “ Liam said with a smile. Henry tilted his head to the side a bit with his brows furrowed as he tried to understand what was going on. He knew that it wasn’t every day one got to see Liam smiling.

“ Go on, what are you waiting for? “ He said to Henry who walked up to me and gave me the parcel.

“ Are you okay? “ Henry mouthed when he handed over the parcel to me and I nodded my head in agreement while cleaning my tears.

“ You can go now. Thank you, “ Liam said with a smile and Henry left the office reluctantly. 

I unwrapped the gift and saw that it was an iPhone 14 Pro Max. I gasped in shock as I turned the phone around and looked at it in awe.

“ An iPhone 14 pro max? “ I asked with disbelief and excitement. I squealed and put my SIM card inside the phone.

“ Thank you so much, Sir. This is the best gift I’ve ever received. I’m gonna cherish it, “ I said to him as I put the phone in the fancy pouch that came with the phone.

Liam looked pleased at my words of gratitude and that made me smile but I flinched with fear when the door to the office suddenly opened with force.
