“ You? “ I exclaimed as I looked at the guy who Chloe cheated on me with. I was shocked to see him here and wondered what business he had with Maya.

After that day I bumped into Chloe, my ex-fiancee, with this guy that she cheated on me with at the restaurant I wanted to go eat at that night, I became more pissed at myself and It still served as a reminder for me not to let my guard down and fall in love with another woman.

“ What's going on here? How do you two know each other “ Maya asked as she looked at us confused.

“ I d-dont k-know him “ The guy stuttered while trying to lie. I wasn't surprised because all those close to Chloe only knew how to lie a lot.

I didn’t want to go into much detail because I didn’t want her to know about my personal life. So I didn’t answer if I knew him or not. What I was curious about is how she knew someone like him.

“ How do you know him? “ I asked her trying to relax my face so it wouldn't prompt her to question me, not like there was a problem with her questioning me but the problem is that if she asked I would surely get angry and answer her rudely.

Wait am I Hearing this right or this is some kind of joke, I thought to myself. Because this same Lucas that Maya was referring to Is the same guy whom my ex-fiance had been cheating on me with. I even saw them together the last time I bumped into my ex-fiance at the restaurant.

“ What's the name of the friend he cheated on you with? “ I asked her with a neutral expression on my face and she looked at me warily.

“ Why are you asking? “ She asked,

“ I-I'm just curious “ I stuttered a bit while answering her and shrugged my shoulders afterward.

“ Her name is Chloe Spencer “ She answered and I saw the young man whom I just found out from Maya that his name is Lucas facepalm and sigh.

“ What?! “ I asked before I could refrain from doing so but began to cough instantly to cover up.

Lucas looked at me expectantly with a pleading look on my face, thinking that I would tell Maya what transpired between us but I was shocked. From the way she was looking at me it seems she didn't know me but how is that possible?

Also, how is it possible that she is Chloe’s best friend? I never heard anything about her from Chloe. Rather, Chloe always introduced her other friends to me.

Or is Chloe pushing this girl to come and get revenge for me calling off our engagement? So many thoughts were running through my mind that needed answers urgently.

“ Did Chloe tell you she had a fiancee? “ I asked and Lucas turned to leave when I asked the question and I turned to him.

“ Young man, if you take one more, I'll call the police. You know I didn't call the police when I found out what you and her did to me. So I'll advise you to stand where you are to confirm what I'm going to tell her “ I ordered him and he instantly stopped before turning to face us again.

I was very upset, Maya was also a victim of Chloe and Lucas's lies just like I was. “ I’m sorry you had to witness that sir. I’ll go get my stuff now “ she apologized and smiled trying to act strong.

“ Heartbreak is normal Miss Allen. You don’t have to act strong “ I said to her trying to comfort her because I remember my sister telling me once that crying helps relieve the pains of heartbreak.

As if waiting for me to say that, she broke down into tears after I finished talking. She looked so fragile to the extent that I had to carry her to my car. Because her standing in front of her apartment and crying was drawing attention to us.
