“ He always talks about you each time he calls me since he helped you at the bar, he always complains about how you couldn't even thank him now that you have seen him again. But he still made you his Assistant and has even brought you shopping, he hasn't done that for any of his assistants before. You must be special. I think he likes you, “ Eve said chuckling as we walked to the changing room.

But when she mentioned him helping me at the bar It was then that it clicked in my mind that Liam was the good person that helped me. It's no wonder that he looked at me that way when I went for the interview.

I facepalmed knowing that he must be thinking I'm ungrateful and that I recognized him but feigned ignorance.

I quickly ran back to where Liam sat still engrossed with whatever he was doing but when he saw me stop in front of him he lifted his head and for the first time since his amber eyes had been looking at me I recognized that he was the hot guy sitting beside me that day.

“ I'm so sorry sir, “ I said feeling bad when in reality it wasn't my fault that I couldn't recognize him because then I was dead drunk.

“ I don't understand “ He answered as he looked at me confused as to what I was saying. I guess he didn't expect me to find out now.

“ Thank you for helping me out at the bar that night sir. I swear I didn't know it was you because I was very drunk and each time I tried to look at you my vision was blurry. Please don't be offended anymore “ I said as I jammed my hands together pleading with him.

“ Evelyn Grey!!! You weren't supposed to let her know. I was supposed to tell her myself “ Liam yelled angrily when he saw Eve walk to where we were.

“ Sorry, it just slipped out because I was over-excited, “ Eve said, trying to defend her actions. But Liam just scoffed and left the boutique.

Great, he's pissed off now, I thought to myself and facepalmed but Eve held my hands and smiled which surprised me. She was supposed to be angry at Liam for shouting at her like that but here she was acting normal.

“ It's okay he'll come along, he has anger issues. Let's get you dressed up so you can go back early enough, “ Eve said to me with a reassuring smile.

“ I don't have the cash to go back, I thought he’ll be the one to take me back to the company, “ I said with great difficulty because I was feeling embarrassed.

“ Don’t worry I’ll drop you off, take that as my way of apologizing to you for being the cause of why he left you here “ Evelyn said as she pouted while she finished her statement.

“Alright thanks, Eve, “ I said but still turned to look at the direction Liam headed when he was leaving hoping that he might change his mind and come back. That's absurd, right?

“ Okay!! Let’s transform you and make heads turn in your direction wherever you pass, “Eve exclaimed with a smile, trying to lighten my mood as she took my hands and half dragged me to the changing room in the boutique.


When Eve was done styling my hair, makeup, and dress, she assisted me to stand up and turned me to take a look at myself in the mirror.

My breath hitched for a moment when I took in my appearance as I looked into the mirror. Standing in front of the mirror with a knee-length tight-fitting gown that hugged my body perfectly well thereby making my petite but round butt pronounced I looked stunning.

Eve is really a badass in this fashion stuff. With my hair styled and packed in a tight bun, mild makeup, my knee-length dress, and six-inch Louboutin heels I looked like an Assistant to billionaires that I always watch in movies.

“ Thanks, Eve “ I thanked her as I twirled in front of the Mirror. She walked away after nodding and smiling. I wondered where she was going or if she had changed her mind about dropping me off.

But she came back almost immediately, holding sunglasses. I tried all of them and settled on wearing the black one that suited my pointy nose.

“ Now you are all set Maya, let’s go make heads turn in your direction, “ Eve said cheerfully as she wiggled her body. I couldn’t help but chuckle. This girl is so full of life. I wish I could be like that too.

“ What about the shopping bags? “ I asked Eve when we wanted to leave her boutique store.

“ Don’t worry we’ll deliver it to you after work you can’t possibly take these to work, it'll stir attentions and gossips “ Eve answered.

“ Now let’s go Liam must be running out of patience right now, “ she said again and we left Eve's boutique store after she handed me a black Hermes back as a gift from her.

While we walked heading for the exit door all eyes were indeed on us and Mr Silver was walking in through the entrance door which was beside the exit door.

I don’t know if it was my imagination but I think I saw his jaw drop for a moment as he looked at me.

“ Hey bro, what’s up “ Eve greeted Mr silver as we reached him and they did a special handshake.

“ What’s up? “ Mr. Silver said to Eve but his eyes were focused on me. Eve just giggled and began whispering something into Mr. Silver's ears.

“ Have a nice day sir “ I said not waiting for them to answer because I was shy and walked out to wait for Eve, I wasn’t comfortable there.

A few minutes later, Eve came out of the company building and pressed a button on her car keys while walking towards me and I heard the car opening. Then I noticed the car behind me was hers and of course, it was a Lamborghini. These people were indeed rich.

“ Sorry for the delay Maya, I had to tell my brother something, “ Eve said as she got into the car and I did the same.

“ Is he your brother? “ My curiosity got the best of me as I asked.

“ Yeah I’m Evelyn Grey, his younger sister, '' Eve said and turned on the ignition of the car which instantly roared to life.

“ Then why is my boss talking so formally with him while he is very jovial and free with you? “ I asked before I could stop the question from leaving my lips. 

Maya why are you prying!!! , I screamed in my head reminding myself not to try such again.

“ Well, we all used to be close friends but something happened between Silver and Liam that made them stop relating with each other. I don’t know what happened either, they both refused to tell, “ Eve said and shrugged before she drove onto the highway heading for my workplace.



The drive to my workplace was short since it wasn’t far at all from the Textile and fashion Company. We said our goodbyes and I alighted from her car.

I walked comfortably in my Louboutin heels and Eve was right because all heads turned to look at me as I walked to enter the company building.

When I entered the company building, all eyes were still on me, some were looking at me with admiration while others were scowling, the jealous ones of course.

I paid no heed to anyone and continued walking to the elevator, but when I was halfway to reaching the elevator a lady with blonde hair came to stand directly in front.

“ Are you a model? “ The blonde lady said with her hands akimbo, she didn’t have a friendly look on her face at all. Everyone around were now looking at us and something in me told me this lady was up to no good.

“ And how is that your concern? “ A voice from behind asked the blonde lady.
