Chapter 93: Wedding Day
Lorenzo
"Wake up dude." I could hear Alex beside me, I groaned into my pillow and turned my head away from him.
"I need more sleep." I murmured, pulling the duvet closer to my chin and snuggling under the warm sheets.
"Dude get up. Did you know what day it is?" My eyes fluttered open and I smiled as I rolled over to face him.
"I am getting married today." There was raspiness evident in my voice.
"Correct, you are getting married today." Alex muttered.
"And now get your ass out of the bed and put some clothes on. The hotel room service is on the way, don't let them see you with your willy out." I rolled my eyes at him.
I stepped out of the bed, heading straight to the bathroom for a shower. I wonder if Natalie is awake now, she always goes to bed late but I know Brie, he would want her to wake up as early as possible to get ready even though the wedding is in the afternoon.
As I hopped out of the shower, I dried off and wrapped a towel around my waist, going back into the room and seeing that the room service had arrived.
"Do you think she will need room service? I think I will send some up there for her…"
"Don't worry about it, dude. I have already sent some room service to her but I used your card." Alex shrugged sheepishly and I rolled my eyes at him. Whatever, it is my treat.
After we were done with breakfast, Alex said he was going downstairs to check on them. I wanted to go with him so I could see my children and most importantly my wife-to-be but he declined it. Saying it is not a good sign to see the bride before the wedding. What nonsense.
I wanted to see her, I wanted to see how the dress looked on her as she refused to show it to me. I want to know how she is styling her soft curly hair. Was she wearing heels? Are the flowers as perfect as she is? I wanted to know all this but I wanted to see my bride before the vows.
Alex returned a little less than an hour later and I urged for him to tell me everything about Natalie. He simply laughed and shook his head.
"I can't give away details, dude." He grinned.
"But she does look beautiful. You are a lucky man, that is for sure."
I could feel the blush appearing on my cheeks, just thinking about Natalie in her gorgeous dress was driving me crazy.
After the photographer arrived, we took some quick pictures of us in our wedding attire down the corridor outside the wedding hall. A few guests have arrived but we still have half an hour before the ceremony.
This is it, this is the moment I had been waiting for. As I stood at the altar, Alex directly behind me, my parents in front of me and my emotions all over the place. I am finally getting married to the love of my life.
Just behind the closed door, she stood in her beautiful wedding dress, waiting to be presented to our friends and family. I managed to stop bouncing my legs long enough to smile as Fiona walked down the aisle after the bridesmaids with her basket of flower petals and she walked straight to my mother.
Steven followed soon with Caleb behind him with a small pillow in his hand that was supposed to carry the ring but we knew he would drop them so we stuck it in his pocket. He walked directly to me, guided by Caleb like he was supposed to and I smiled as I kneeled down, taking the rings out of his pocket and kissed his forehead before having him wander over to my mother.
I handed Alex the ring just as the music began playing and my heart rate sped up tremendously. I bit my lips as the door opened, my beautiful bride emerging from the hallway and slowly walking down the aisle. Her dress hugged the curves of her chest perfectly and I loved the way the dress flared out at her waist. She truly looked like a proper queen.
As she reached the end, I moved to stand next to her as we turned to face the priest. During the ceremony, I couldn't help but sneak a peek at her every few seconds. She is truly marvelous and I couldn't even wrap my head around the fact that I am marrying this beautiful woman today.
She gave me the children of my dreams, the companion I needed and the best love I could have ever dreamed of. During the vows and maid of honor speech, I couldn't help but sit with her hand intertwined with mine while the rest of her hair rested on my thigh. Her hair was left natural, pulling back into a loose updo with a few strands framing her face. Even though she wore a beautiful white veil over face, I could still see every detail of her stunning features.
"Lorenzo?" She whispered with a giggle.
"Pay attention." I squeezed her hand.
"How am I supposed to pay attention when I am sitting next to the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my entire life? And she is marrying me, do you really expect me to pay attention to Brie who is given the maid of honor speech?" She shook her head and blushed, looking down at her lap.
"I love you, Lorenzo."
"I love you more, Natalie."
The maid of honor speech has concluded and it is time for our vows. We thought it would be really beautiful to write our own vows instead of saying the regular ones for weddings. I went first and my hands were shaking the entire time I spoke.
"Natalia?" I smiled, looking at her teary eyes.
"I love you unconditionally and I promise to love you, cherish you, support you, encourage you and respect you for the rest of my life. I vow to always make you happy and pick up when you are down. Together we will foster a strong relationship that we know will build us a life better than we could have imagined alone. I vow to always love and care for our beautiful children and take responsibility when needed. I will care for you, provide for you and share with you all of life's adventures and its joys from this day forward and all the days of my life."
She wiped away a couple tears left on her cheeks and chin before unfolding her speech and her hands shaking as well.
"Lorenzo?" She smiles
"You are my rock, my foundation and I promise to always love you, cherish you and be by your side. No matter what life throws at us, I will stand by your side through it all. You taught me how to love, how to stand for myself. You turned all of my insecurities to something I haven't dreamed of, you helped me discover a side of myself that I would have never known if I didn't meet you."
She looked at me and blushed and I knew exactly what she was talking about but of course, no one else did.
"With you I have two beautiful children that I love tremendously and now I am incredibly blessed to be standing here with you and becoming your wife. I promise to love you unconditionally forever, encourage you through struggling times and be your biggest supporter for the rest of my life."
She finished her vow and I blinked away the tears threatening to fall. She smiled, her own tears dripping from her lashes and I took her hand in mine as I put the ring on her finger. She did the same to me, I smiled and inhaled deeply as the priest announced.
"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife." She smiles at me.
"You may now kiss your bride."
"Kiss mother, father!" Fiona yelled.
The crowd cheered as I immediately grabbed her by the waist, dipping her down and planting a passionate kiss to her lips. I could feel her giggling through her own lips and when I brought her back up, she placed her hands on the side of my face, pecking me a few times more before we turned to face our people.
"I present you, Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Ballmer." The priest announced.
We walked down the steps, down the aisle past our family and friends, hand in hand and now husband and wife.
I am the happiest man on the planet now to have this woman beside me as my wife and the mother of my two children. What else I am looking for, she is beautiful both in and out. I must have done a good deed in past life to get someone like to be my life partner.
I love her so much and I will cherish her and my children for the rest of my life.
