Twenty seven

Olivia Fred was in her room, browsing through her social media accounts, when she suddenly received a message from Emily Nicholaz. She clicked on the message and read it.

"Olivia Fred, how are you doing? Are you free? It has been a while since we went out together. How about we hang out today if you are less busy?" That was the content of the message. Olivia Fred closed the message app because she decided not to respond to her instantly. She finally replied after an hour.

Oh, sure," was her reply.

She knew that Emily Nicholaz had probably been holding her phone waiting for her reply because she always responded to her messages faster than anyone else. So she has gotten used to it.

As she expected Emily Nicholaz's message came in again. "Let's meet at Atlantic Restaurant."

Olivia Fred responded with an 'Okay.

She put her phone away and lay down on the bed. She was feeling a little sleepy, so she put her head on the bed and slept off. She once felt her head touch the pillow.

She woke up an hour later, not because she wanted to wake up but because her phone's ringing woke her up. She could only sit up and answer the call.

Hello," She said sluggishly.

"Olivia Fred What are you doing? I have been waiting here for more than two hours, but you are not here yet." She heard Emily Nicholaz's angry voice on the phone.

Olivia Fred smiled. "Waiting for me? Why?" She asked with an innocent voice.

"Did we not make a plan to go out together?" Emily Nicholaz said it angrily. Olivia Fred raised an eyebrow and said, "Oh really? But you did not tell me that it was right away," She said, acting innocent.

She heard Emily Nicholaz taking a deep breath on the other side. She smiled. She did it knowingly for her, and she knew that she would not dare say anything or talk anyhow to her.

Oh, I did not know that you were sleeping. I am still waiting," She reminded her.

Olivia Fred laughed. "I am on my way already," She responded. She hung up the phone and finally stood up from the bed. She took her time to bathe, then wear her clothes before putting on a little makeup. She used another hour and twenty minutes for all of these.

She finally walked out of the house. The driver Alex Taylor arranged to be the one in charge of driving her was the one who drove her out today. Emily Nicholaz called again, and Olivia Fred answered and reassured her that she would soon arrive there.

She got to the Atlantic restaurant, but she did not get out of the car. Instead, I called Emily Nicholaz to come outside.

"Come inside and have some coffee before we go shopping, or what do you think?" Emily Nicholaz asked. She already had some food while she was waiting for Olivia Fred, which is why she wants her to come in so she can pay the bills.

No, I don't need it," said Olivia Fred. Fred said.

"Are you sure?" Emily Nicholaz asked,

"Yes. Come outside and let's go," Olivia Fred said.

Emily Nicholaz did not insist because she knew that Olivia Fred might understand once she did, and it would look like she was trying to make her foot the bill. She could only stand up in resignation. She walked towards the cashier. "How much is my money?" She asked with a forced smile.

The cashier looked at her with a smile. Ma, your total bills are 800 thousand dollars," She said.

Emily Nicholaz was shocked when she heard this. "What?" She asked in shock.

The cashier looked at her and raised an eyebrow when she saw how she was acting. She thought they had hit the jackpot today since they would get a bonus. They also thought Emily Nicholaz was a rich young lady because of the way she was behaving and how she ordered the food, but now they see how she acted when she heard the bill.

"How come the money is that much?" Emily Nicholaz asked with a frown.

Ma, the coffee is 90, 000; the food you eat is almost 50 thousand dollars too," The cashier explained.

Emily Nicholaz gritted her teeth. The money was her one-year savings, and she gathered it with a lot of difficulty with the help of Olivia Fred too, so she surely did not want to lose the money. She hated Olivia Fred more, but if she had not insisted on her coming outside, Olivia Fred would have been the one to foot the bill instead. She took out her card and gave it to the cashier. Her heart was bleeding as she watched the cashier swipe the card.

She took the card back and walked out of the restaurant; she had not walked long before she received a debit alert. She opened it and almost ran mad when she saw the amount she had left in her bank: '$48?! She thought angrily. She vowed to make Olivia Fred spend more of the money this time since they were going shopping together.

She took a deep breath after making up her mind. She walked out of the restaurant and looked around, but she did not see Olivia Fred. She was about to call again when she saw a hand waving at her from inside the car.

She was shocked when she saw that it was actually Olivia Fred, and she frowned. She looked at the car brand and knew that it was not a cheap car.

She wondered how she got it.
