Chapter 47 Rage
Chapter 47 Rage
Rage
Adrian’s POV
“I want all reports on all companies. Every single member of that family should be interrogated. Summon Ethan Monroe and Rena Dubois to my office. There should be here in the next thirty minutes or drag them to the base as well”
“But Sir, Miss Rena is Madam’s best friend and she’s currently pregnant”
“And your Madam, my woman, is currently in an hospital room, battling for her life. Now what do you think I should care about? My wife or the lady that landed her there in the first place?”
The man who had the gulls to oppose me calmly walked out after taking a huge gulp. I couldn’t care less what he wanted or what he thought of me. But I didn’t give a damn anymore.
“Sir we are yet to pinpoint the exact location of the truck driver. Whoever hid him did a good job”
“Then hire the best criminal psychologist there is. I don’t care about the amount you have to pull out just find him”
“On it Sir”
We have been here for eight hours. Eight fucking hours and these guys couldn’t find one man.
“Where the fuck is my Sister?”
Ethan Monroe barged into my office, held me by the collar and delivered a punch to my face.
And I would be a fool not to reciprocate.
I didn’t stop, hit after hit till I was sure I had beat him into pulp.
“What did you do with my sister?”
He seethed as he spat out blood. He looked rough. And no reasonable person would even blame him though. A lady you had a one night stand with ends up being pregnant with your child. The same lady is your sister's best friend and the same lady drags your sister to abort the baby.
I, however, am not reasonable. The only thing on my mind was the lady wrapped up in bandages.
“What I did? You have the gulls to walk into my office and confront me about what I did? Who do you think gave you the right to barge into my office like you own the fucking building?
And about your sister? Your sister is my woman. My Princess. And today I have just realized that you are in no position to talk about her.
She’s too pure for you to even breathe beside her.
You blame me for what happened? Am I the one who pushed her to the point where she had to crash into a moving truck? Who yelled at her for standing with her best friend? Am I the one who betrayed her trust?
Now don’t you dare walk into this place and claim that you are some righteous piece of shit because you are far from that…”
I wasn’t done talking when my phone rang out.
“I need you to answer me truthfully”
I had never heard such a serious voice from Micah which created another sense of dread within me.
“What happened?”
“Have you ever raised your hand on her? Did you hit her?”
Everyone around me shivered as the temperature dropped.
“What did you just say?”
“You should know I am not a fan of repeating myself especially when a patient is involved”
“What did you see?”
After some time he finally responded; “There were bruises on her cheeks. The bruises indicate a slap that was given by a male since the imprint was deeper than that of a female. So you didn’t raise your hands on her?”
I glared at Ethan as I ended the call. What was truly going on today?
“I’m going to ask only once. Did you raise your hands on her?”
I watched the look of guilt mar his face as it all sank in.
This bastard had touched his sister. Ethan had slapped his sister. Ethan had slapped Lila. He slapped my Princess.
I rushed to him once more as Rena blocked him;
“Please calm down Mr Adrian. I can explain.”
She franctically covered Ethan with her body making me draw back. No matter what, she was pregnant and that kid had a direct tie to my Princess.
I abandoned the two of them and entered my car to head straight to the base. I needed to shed some blod. Any blod.
And I knew if I touched them then my Princess would be hurt as fuck when she woke up.
I glanced at the rear view mirror and couldn’t recognize myself. Twelve hours without her and everything had changed.
I looked so unkempt with my dim red eyes. My tie was crooked. My hair tousled and not in the good way.
Twelve hours without her and I couldn’t even function well.
I closed my eyes as I drew a mental picture of my life without her. I couldn’t even picture everything completely when I spat out the huge chunk of blood clogged in my chest.
I wouldn’t survive. If she were to die, then I would gladly follow her behind. There was no me without her and no her without me.
She was the Yin to my Yang, the Black to my White, the sane to my insanity. We were the perfect balance to each other. And I wouldn’t let nothing disrupt that.
I started the car and zoomed of in the night, the urge to spill blood the only thing keeping me going.
They would all pay. Irrespective of who they were.
