(Authors note : I made a mistake while uploading the previous chapter, this Is meant to be chapter 50 and the previous chapter 51.)

Rylan jumped back just as its large hand slammed into the ground, kicking up clouds of dust and leaving a permanent handprint in the floor beneath. Rylan hopped from one foot to the other, his eyes watchful refusing to leave the form of the red beast, analyzing every move made, searching for a weakness he could exploit. It moved unnaturally fast for its short legs, covering the distance between them and swinging at him, he slanted his body and narrowly dodged the attack and launching a counter by thrusting a fist into its abdomen, the contact made his hand vibrate, but the beast on the other hand shower no sign of being bothered by his attempt as it tried to lock him into a bare hug. He leaped back again, this time barely making it, it was getting used to his speed faster than he was to its own, intelligence meant it was most likely on the higher end of the level one spectrum, which would explain why its skin was so incredibly hard.

He let out a deep breath as he jumped back to increase the distance between them, its eyes didn't leave him so he kept his movement constant, hopping from one foot to the other to help boost his reaction speed by even something as miniscule as a second. If this was a normal confrontation it would have been easier, he would have been able to use Arkana to read its movement and power through but he made a deal with Maerik. ‘Beat the level one beast using only your base stats.’ Even though they were in no way low, they still weren't enough to allow him compete with a high end level one.
It rushed forward, kicking up dirt as it charged at him, Rylan expected it but still, its timing was immaculate, it had been watching him bounce and had waited for the brief second when he was just hovering before it attacked. It stretched out its hand, Rylan tilted his body to avoid it then with both hands pressed against its forearm and pushed himself up and back into a safe distance.

A chuckle escaped him. “You're a tricky one aren't you.” His focused turned to its legs and his mind went into analysis mode, it doesn't run, it pushes off the ground with frightening initial speed but slows down after, it's skin feels like armor which meant hand to hand combat was out of the picture for a player like himself so…He unsheated his blades and took a stance, it shouldn't be able to move like that if every part of its body is that hard, which meant that most likely there would be softer skin at its joints to allow for flexibility, it was smart but wasn't trying to fight, it was still just wildly charging at him without a pattern or style, which made things easier and difficult at the same time. He gripped onto the hilt of the daggers and charged forward in a zigzag, its eyes followed him frantically but unable to predict his path it leaped back but Rylan took a page out of its own play book and attacked at that very moment, pushing off the ground, sliding beneath it and slashing at the skin behind its knees, a pain filled shriek tore out of it as it's bright blue blood splattered onto Rylan's face, confirmed, I smile tugged at his lips, celebrating the little progress made, the beast twisted its body and slammed a heavy arm into him, sending him bouncing on the ground and crashing through the barricade of trees.

“Fuckkk.” He cursed quietly as he pushed himself up through the soreness and dizziness that came from the impact and stood to his feet. He looked at the arm that had taken the brunt of the attack, bruised, red and shaky. Thank God he'd blocked it in time if not he honestly doubted he would've been on his feet.

Rylan drew in a deep breath to calm himself, every cell in his body was telling him to use Arkana and get this over with but he agreed with Maerik, over reliance would be the death of him. He had to beat this beast, with nothing more than his base stats and the weapons available to him. He exhaled then with a smile walked behind a cover of trees, the beast shifted with caution as he left its sight, it began to turn, anticipating an attack from every possible direction just as the sound of Rylan's footsteps began to speed up, it saw him, his figure running from one tree to the next over and over again till he looked like a blur, its head snapped from side to side in anticipation then silence followed, no echoes no rustle of trees, it was as if Rylan had control of it all, it's eyes continued to search through the trees, left, right, up, behind. A soft chuckle echoed and immediately Rylan rushed out from the exact spot he had entered, it shuffled back, crossing its arm over its neck to block Rylan but all it had done was expose its own weakness, he planted his feet into the earth, flipped one of the blades and threw it into the beast left eye with perfect accuracy, it screamed and threw out a hand to capture him but Rylan's attacks had impaired its vision causing it to miscalculate the distance between them. He used its outstretched limb like a foothold and lead over it, retrieved its blade from its bleeding eye, stuck the other its good eyes and dragged it out, roughly, Its scream was deafening as it swung around its hand frantically, jumping from one point to the other to try and avoid him but without its vision it was nothing more than a sitting duck to Rylan. He closed the distance and with a battle cry slashed its throat, then following that same wound, drew a line to its nape and down its spine. Blood flew into the air like a sprinkler in summer time, bathing him in blue as the sound of its lifeless corpse hitting the floor followed.
