SHEPHERD
“Do you like him? Is that why you're pissed?” I asked, wondering if that's why she was avoiding me. She frowned, confused.
“The boy, Jake,” I explained. She mumbled behind my palm, trying to get me to take my hand off her mouth, but there's a reason I left my hand there.
“Nod for Yes, and shake your head for No.” she rolled her eyes and shook her head.
“Good,” I said, my voice hoarse even to my ears. “You should stay away from him.” I saw the silent question in her eyes. I leaned closer, her body fit perfectly against mine. I lower my hand from her mouth.
She licked her lips. “Why?” It was a soft whisper.
“Because he was leaning too close and I didn't fucking like it,” I whispered back. I frowned, shocked at the honesty.
Her brows rose, eyes searching my face with an expression that made me uncomfortable and my heart to pound.
“You were watching me?”
I opened my mouth, then shut it. “I was.”
Fucking hell! Why am I saying stupid sappy shit?
Then because I didn't want to talk anymore and I don't want to answer any more questions, not to mention I've wanted to do this for a long time now.
Probably from the first time I saw her months ago. I slammed my mouth against hers with a groan, smothering her next question before she could voice it.
Her lips were softer than I'd imagined but the spark was instant. Addison moaned, kissing me back, her hands going around my neck as I devoured her mouth with everything I've got.
And fucking hell, she tasted even better than I thought, I picked her up, and she automatically wrapped her legs around me.
I grind against that sweet spot between her legs, while she arched into me, her hands in my hair, gripping me to her while we kiss each other.
Pleasure rolls through me, making me even harder for her. Her gasp told me she felt the same thing I felt as I pumped against her, I yanked my mouth free and rain kisses on her neck down her collarbone and was just about to get my first glimpse of her tits when the door slammed open.
My grip slackened. Addison jumped away from like I was a burning coal, her eyes wide with shock, leaving me with my hands wide open like a fucking idiot.
“My bad, I didn't know you guys were busy,” Cole said, grinning. I stare at her back, where she's hiding from Cole while she tries to fix her hair.
“Fuck off asshole,” I growled.
“Sure, right away.” He starts to pull the door. “You can carry on from where you stopped. I will make sure no one else disturbs you.”
“Fuck you!” His laughter could be heard even after he closed the door.
Fucker!
I ran my hand through my hair, licking the leftover strawberry flavor of Addison's lipstick before I glanced at her.
“Hey are you crying? Or shy? If you're worried Cole is going to say something don't be. It's just a kiss, it's not like we were having sex.”
She shook her head, and turned around, and I was relieved to see she wasn't crying. “You’re fucking unbelievable Shepherd.” She gave me a small smile.
“As you said it's just a kiss, why should I be embarrassed, besides I can take care of myself.”
“I’m sure you can.” I stepped closer, my eyes fixed on her pink swollen lips, and the urge to kiss her again was almost impossible to ignore. “But you don’t have to pretend like you belong here, stay away from people like Jake and Asher; they will eat you alive.”
“Then it’s a good thing I’m not weak and again, I can fucking take care of myself.”
She opened the door and leave and I followed, I feel like something has changed and I don't fucking know what.
It feels like Addie is angry with me and I don't know what I did to pissed her off although she didn't say anything.
The party downstairs was even wilder than it was earlier, more handsy. The music had shifted, slower now. Couples paired off, and the lights dimmed, moans and groans could be heard everywhere.
Addie was heading straight for the entrance door. “I should go.”
I caught her wrist before she could leave. “Wait!”
“What do you want, Shepherd?” she said tiredly.
“Come with me,” I said quietly. “Just want to show you something.”
For a moment, I thought she’d refuse. But then I stepped closer. “I promise I'll behave,” I flash her my charming grin. She narrowed her eyes and then just when I thought she was going to say yes.
Hands suddenly wrapped around my stomach, it slipped from my back to my stomach. Slimmed fingers, pink painted nails, the noise around us faded into the background as Addie stared at the girl behind me.
And somehow even before I turn around, I knew who it was.
“Goodnight Shepherd,” Addie said, smiling and then she turned and disappeared through the crowds.
I fisted my hands until they ached, inhaled before finally turning around. To the headache who just ruined my plans.
“Surprise!” Angela said excitedly. She was dressed in a red glittering dress, blonde hair straightened, lips painted pink. Beautiful as always.
“When did you come back?” I ground out trying not to snap at her.
“Two hours ago. I wanted to see you but when I heard about the party I decided what's the best way to surprise you after weeks without each other than tonight?”
Her hands wrapped around my neck and I grabbed them holding them in my hands.
“Baby why do I get the feeling you're not happy to see me?” she pouted.
“I'm not your baby Angela, we broke up. I don't know how many times I have to remind you of that.” She instantly shut down.
“You can say it a million times and I would never believe you. You still love me Shepherd I know it, that's why you haven't dated any other girl.”
“I don't date, you already know that. If I'm in love with you I wouldn't have cheated on you, Angela. I've fucked half the girls here and I'm sure you already know that. So move on.” I started towards the stairs and she followed right on my heels.
“I don't care, I know you don't love them but you love me Shepherd. I know you do and any girl that tries to come between us again will suffer the consequences,” she spat, before storming off and leaving the party.
Damn headache!
