Elena

I really need to be at Zoey's soon, I felt a bit sad leaving this room as I have finally found a place in the mansion that is similar to who I am.

Zoey doesn't like it when I don't keep to time, so I have to be at her place at the stipulated time I had given her earlier.

Andrew didn't say anything on the way to Zoey's place. I pressed the doorbell on getting there twice before she finally opened.

It feels so good to be here again

"Can I have a plate of your infamous Mac and cheese please" I begged her.

"One plate of Mac and cheese coming right up," she said, smiling at me.

I ate not just one but two plates with bacon and eggs together.

I lay on my back as I relished the dinner I just took.

"So,am I just going to wait or are you going to tell me?" she asked me.

"I don't really understand it myself Zoey"

"Most times he gets me angry and sometimes he becomes irresistible to me" she nods as if understanding what I meant.

"To be honest, I spend most of my time thinking about him," I admitted to her.

"I have not felt this way about any man before, like o do find other men attractive but none stays in my mind like he has"

"Is it because of the sex?" she asked me

"Zoey!! How can you ask me such a question?" But my voice betrayed me already.

"You can't even reply" she teased

"Is it that good, because you look super flushed right now"

"Oh my goodness Elena"

"I love this glow you have on you".

My eyes were still looking at my fingers not able to look at her until she gasped and I did look at her

"Girl, you are in love" she exclaimed

"No I'm not" I denied

"Yeah right, you probably haven't realized it yet, but you are already smitten by him"

"But I don't really like him, we've had sex a few times but that's just it" I told her.

"My dear friend, to some people,sex may be casual, but you and Luca share something deeper than that. I just know it".

Could she be right, I always thought our coming across each other has brought nothing but trouble and intense moments of passion.

It was getting late already and I had to leave soon. She begged that I stay the night at her place.

But I declined telling her I didn't plan to stay the night in the first place.

She gave me a knowing smile but I pretended like I didn't know what she meant by it.

She followed me outside till I got to the car, all this while Andrew had been waiting for me.

I don't know how someone can strictly adhere to an order.

I entered the car and waved her goodbye.

The things she said still lingered in my mind, I don't want to believe that I am now having feelings for Luca.

But what could be the perfect explanation for how I feel anytime I think about and anytime he is near me.

The fact that Hope opened fire on me was not too surprising, he is very capable of being cunning. To stage a fight on neutral ground is actually one rule that even I with all my ruthlessness will not do.

"Let's go to the lab" I told four

"I need to check out this bullet, there's something strange about it"

The Avante's still owns a laboratory amongst other businesses, and I personally run the operations of it.

I tossed the packet to Duke as I entered the lab.

"Find out everything you can about that bullet" I ordered him.

It shouldn't be a problem for Duke as he is a certified genius, if there's anyone who I can count on to give me information on that bullet, Duke is the man for the job.

He spent some minutes scrutinizing the bullet under different rays of lights until his eyes lit up in amazement

"Found anything yet" I asked.

"This is a rarity amongst bullet bosses," he said, twirling the bullet in his fingers.

"Silver mixed with wolfsbane"

"Wolfsbane?" I asked.

"Yes, that is why I say it is a rarity"

"You know the way gunpowder is made, this bullet is formed using wolfsbane powder"

So the Salvatore's can come up with such a ploy just to bring us down, I thought to myself.

He continued "The combination of silver and wolfsbane in large quantity is enough to bring down even a tough wolf like yourself"

This made me remember how I continued bleeding until I removed the bullet from my shoulder, the feeling is different from being hit by silver or wolfsbane alone.

There is something that Hope knows about Elena and I must find out what it is

Why else will he be so bent on having her for himself, it seems before I discovered her as my mate, there were others coming for her already.

Hope Salvatore has already set a stage for war and he better be ready for what comes next.

"Can I keep this with me boss?, to do more research" Duke broke into my thoughts.

"Sure you can," I told him.

I proceeded to leave the lab when I got a text in my phone, I checked it's from Andrew.

Asking if Elena can go to her friend Zoey's place.

I texted him back saying she can go but he has to go with her, so she doesn't get into any kind of trouble.

I'm still bothered as to what Hope has on Elena, and if it's as important as I think it is, it won't take long before Victor finds out himself.

He probably is doing his own investigation in the background without my knowledge.

I have to act fast if I am to be ahead of both Hope and Victor.
