CHAPTER 42

"What next?" Nyla screamed a she narrowly invaded the blade thrown at her.

"I told you not to pick the orb but you didn't listen to me now look at what's coming at us!" Xoryn yelled angrily as she pressed down her weight and shot up to the sky to avoid the buyer before her.

"Get them, immediately!" The rogues yelled angrily as they brandished their swords towards them.

"Where's Lucas?!" Xoryn's heart froze as she found out Lucas wasn't with them.

Gritting her teeth angrily with hesitation in her eyes she stopped running and swung towards their direction.

They were already in a quiet hallways anyways. It's better to end things here.

Few minutes ago…

"Now that we are done with the goods I guess we have to use these little coins to get some food to eat and a temporary place to stay for the night. It's getting dark already," Lucas muttered as he played with the coins on his palm.

"Good idea," Nyla muttered as she followed closely behind them. She noticed how quiet Xoryn was and then smirked as an evil thought resurfaced in her mind.

"What are you thinking about, sis?" She asked mischievously.

"Nothing," Xoryn coldly replied without looking at her. Her indifferent eyes observed the ruins around and kept on moving with a straight face.

Nyra pouted and struck out her tongue,"Boring," She murmured then sprinted foward to catch up with the rest.

"This place is the slum of the city. You dont have to worry about us getting caught but I have to warn you that there are rogues around here. Bandits and all that, so we have to be very careful with anyone we encounter," Jane calmly announced as they passed by a runied construction site.

"I see," Xoryn muttered then looked around. "I think it's best we don't speak to anyone. That way we can lessen the chances of any unwanted troubles. All we have to do is to focus on those who can give us important information," she added.

"Speaking of important information, I think the best place to get it is in an inn. What do you think? Or should we go to a bar?" Lucas asked as he gently place St coin inside the small bag on his waist.

"That's not necessary," Jane replied.

"But you don't remember the exact location of where we are going. We need directions," Lucas intoned.

Xoryn silently watched the duo combating on wether to stay in an inn or a bar.

"I think we should head to a bar. A Marchant bar, i am sure there are one around here. I sees them a lot back at home." Nyra replied.

" Great idea," Luca quickly replied giving no room for further argument.

" What do you think Xoryn?" Jane asked.

" If that's what will give us a clue, then I am good with it," She replied. Jane sighed then quickened her steps.

"let's look around for one,"Jane muttered clearly displeased.

Xoryn sighed as there was nothing she could do about it. They searched for a bar and luckily found a merchant bar.

*Hot XL Bar*

" What a name," Nyra rolled her eyes and scoffed on seeing the huge printed name on the sign board.

"We didn't come here for reviews," Xoryn muttered breaking the moment. Nyra struck out her tongue and followed Lucas ws they entered inside the bar.

They were greeted with a Lou roar of noises but when they got into the bar everyone went silent.

Nyra held into Xoryn as all eyes were on them. Xoryn simply glanced at them then made her way to the bartender.

He was a burly man with a snake tattoo on his neck. The bar risks of alcohol and cigarettes.

" What do you care for?" The burly man asked a she eyed Xoryn. A playful smirk appeared on his face but he didn't say much and stared at her.

"Information, how much," Xoryn coldly replied.

The man stared at her with an amused look on his face. "6 gold coins," He smuggly replied.

Xoryn dugged her hands inside the small coin bag Lucas gave to her before they got in. She tool out 6 gold coin and placed it on the counter.

"What type of information do you want?" An interesting look appeared on his face as he scooped the coins inside his apron.

"I need information about a certain town," Xoryn replied,"A village to be precise," She added.

"Speak," He urged.

Xoryn gave a hand signal to Jane and she nodded and took out a piece of paper from her small bag.

"Oh, this village?" The man muttered as he rubbed his morning beards.

Xoryn didn't reply and instead waited for him to speak.

"This is a dead town and i do not think you can get there even if you wished to," He replied.

Xoryn dugged her hands inside the purse and took out another gold coins.

"Speak," She said and the man smiled as his eyes glowed at the sight of money.

"Give me a moment," He said then walked towards a drawer at the side. He took out a map then returned to them.

"Here, this is where you are right now and this is the place you asked for," He handed then an old map. Xoryn took it from him then glances at it.

She nodded then got ready to leave but trouble came their way.

"Stop there fellas, I can see some money in you. Haha! Do you care to give some to the big boys?!" A rogue man asked laughing hysterically with his crews.

"We don't have time for this, let's leave," Xoryn coldly replied causing an 'oh' sound from the man.

"Did she just say that to me?" The man asked and the others smiled in reply.

"We have to leave now, Xoryn," Jan nudged but Xoryn wasn't moving.

"We don't have to create a scene here else our cover is going to blow up!" Jane fiercely said but Xoryn wasn't listening to her.

"What are you going to do about it? Just mind your business and drink your sorrow out with those drinks," She replied without backing down.

Lucas sighed then came in between them.

"I sincerely apologised sir. My younger sibling is having a hard time today. Let's say she poured out her anger on the wrong person," Lucas said nervously. One could see that he was trying his best not to flare up.

"I can't take that from her. Unless you are willing to compensate me for the insult I received," The man coldly replied.

"We don't have the money,"Lucas said through gritted teeth.

"Are we still doing this? Like seriously? Let's leave!" Jane yelled.

The man smirked and hage a hand signalz and soon the hall was surrounded with rogues.

"What have you done?!" Jane fiercely replied.

"Can you let us leave?" Lucas 'politely' asked but the man wasn't buying anything!

"Xoryn give them the money!" Jane begged.

"I do not think that they are here for the money. They are here for something else and i won't give it to them," Xoryn stubbornly replied.

Lucas sighed then took out a gold coin from his pocket.

"Here take this. Can we leave now?" He asked.

"You see that boys? They think we are beggers. Look at what we have here and compare it to that thing there," He took out a Crystal orb from the bag on the floor and displayed it before them.

" I didn't think we will meet a bunch of unreasonable people," She said.

" What did you say?! Get them!" The man yelled as veins popped up on his forehead.

The rogues yelled angrily and launched theirselves at them.

The bar almost collapsed but it was part of the rules in the Mechant association.

You are free to fight in the bar but be ready to pay for damages. Each item destroyed is doubled by the amount they were ordered.

"Get out now!" Jane yelled as she dashed ahead. Lucas dashed out of the bar with Nyra with him.

Xoryn calmly walked out of the bar then dashed towards the rest. She had a calm look on her face as she held the map in her hand.

"I think they will leave us now," Jane exclaimed.

"I do not think so," Xoryn coldly replied as she yanked her sister's hand and a crystal orb fell off her bag.

The object laid before them silenty. Jane's eyes popped up along with Lucas and an indifferent Xoryn.

"I expected such from you," She calmly replied.

"I warned you not to do anything that might out us in danger but what did you do?! What's the difference, Nyra?!" Xoryn yelled for the first time they got here.

"We have put us in danger now!" She added angrily as she picked the orb.

"I think they will find out where we are faster than we think." Jane said worriedly.

Xoryn stared at the rob then said.

"I think our cover has blown already. We have to return this orb to them," Xoryn said.

"Who will do that?" Nyra asked nervously.

"What I want from you right now is silence. Just keep your mouth shut!" Xoryn replied.

She picked the orb and weigh it on her palm.

"I'll return it," Jane said but Xoryn refused.

"You can't." She said then looked around.

" We will leave it here. Let's go we have wasted enough time!" Xoryn yelled then bolted away putting all her strength on her legs.

They kept running and took a left turn but was shocked to see the rogues coming in that direction.

"Damn it!" Xoryn yelled as she slided down manoeuvring all the objects thrown at them. Her fingers scratched the floor she she held Jane's leg and Nyra then thrown pulled them to the right.

" Hurry!" She yelled as she dashed after them.

"Get them!" A cold voice thundered.

The ladies continued running and soon found themselves in a queit streets with tall houses around. It was towards evening already and soon it would be night.

They have to find a place to sleep for the night!

Damn it! They don't even have a place to escape from this manics more or less a place to sleep!

Back to present!

"Lucas! Don't tell me he picked the orb and sent it back?" Jane's eyes widened In fear as the man closes the distance between them.

"I'll get him," Xoryn coldly replied. She looked around and noticed two blades a few feet away from her, probably the ones thrown by one of the men.

The leader noticed her gaze and trailes after it.

"Think again," He spat out, Xoryn smirked and dashed for it. Everything happened too fast that it couldn't be noticeable In the human eyes.

Before Xoryn could hold the sword he beat her to it.

A cold blade slashed at her and she moved her head in the opposite direction.

A cold sweat brushed through her back as it felt like her life flashed before her eyes.

"I won't let you get out of here alive little one," The man coldly said to her as he slashed the balfe down ruthlessly.

"Xoryn!"

"Sister!"

At the same time, Lucas's body crashed on the floor leaving debris around. He held his chest as he coughed out blood.

"Did you think that returning this will save you from the trouble you causes for yourself?" The burly man coldly asked as he stride towards Lucas who was badly injured and had a deep cut on his arm.

"That's surprising. Why aren't you healing up mate? Id it that you hadn't drink the juicy for a while?" A cold sneer appeared on his face as he squatted before Lucas and slapped his face hard.

"Speak mate," The man yelled as he went punches on his ribs. The sound of broken bones was heard and a muffle sound came out of Lucas's throat.

"You will get nothing from me!" He spat out.
